Toyama Tour 🍃
1-2 **Takaoka Fairy Tale Forest Park**
Manga artist Hiroshi Fujimoto (pen name Hiroshi Fujimoto) is a local of Toyama. There are statues of Doraemon in the park 🥹♡, I also quietly mixed in, try to find it 🔍
3-4 **Kanaya-cho**
Famous for its thousand-grid street view and stone roads. There are some hearts hidden on the stone road!
5 **Zuiryuji Temple**
This is a Toyama temple designated as a national treasure. The symmetrical corridor around the Buddha Hall is 300 meters long and is one of the precious ones in existence. There is also a toilet god 🚽.
6-7 **Nōsaku**
As a casting city with a 400-year history in Toyama. Here you can experience the production process of Takaoka casting. I tried to make a small dish 💭, compact the sand and shape the casting mold. You can also engrave, etc., to make a unique casting ✌🏼. It is also popular as a photo spot.
8 **Ferveur**
Toyama's cake shop. The appearance is a yolk-colored egg 🍳, very cute. Hard pudding and soft chiffon cake are both excellent 🍮.
9 **Takaoka Daibutsu**
Known as one of the three great Buddhas in Japan. It is said to be the most handsome Daibutsu in Japan 🥹. You can buy Daibutsu cakes at the cafe next to the Daibutsu 🥠♡.
10 **Yamacho-suji**
A retro small town composed of earth warehouse buildings. Kanaya-cho and Yamacho-suji are only a 10-minute walk away, be sure to tour together 🚶.
Toyama Tour Summary ⛰️
One of the most distinctive places in the area is the metal manufacturing industry. Many of the Japanese factory's mold prototypes are from here. You can not only enjoy the close-up of how these original embryos are made, but also try to make one's own unique ones. The metal accompaniment is quite special. At the time of production, it is necessary to wear the specified overalls for safety reasons. The middle part is a little close to the plasticine. The last part is to take out the original grinding tool and pour tin water (melting point 450°). It seems to have no temperature. Tin water, don't touch it, wait for the staff to complete the pouring, put the finished product into cold water, and take it out again, it is still very pleasant.
Avoid the crowds in Tokyo and Kyoto|Recommended peaceful and beautiful Toyama
The main reason for traveling to Toyama Prefecture is to avoid the tourist hotspots like Kyoto and Tokyo! Due to the overwhelming number of tourists, their service attitude has shown a noticeable decline. Especially in Kyoto!!!
Foreign tourists in Toyama Prefecture are significantly fewer, much less than in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture next door.
In Toyama Prefecture, besides checking in at Takaoka City, the hometown of Doraemon's author, there is a place I recommend again and again. It is the Amaharashi Coast and the train running along the coast.
If you are lucky, you can see the distant Tateyama Mountain Range. Unfortunately, I didn't see it this time. Fortunately, I have seen it before when I was lucky. If you really want to see the Tateyama Mountain Range, it is recommended to visit from January to March every year, when you can also see the snow on the mountain range!
🚃Transportation: Take the Himi Line train from JR Takaoka Station, get off at Amaharashi Station, and walk for less than 5 minutes to reach.
unique scenery!? Rainy Day, Sunny Coast, Toyama Prefecture
#japantrip
Less mouth and Kamakura people! You can see the coastline of the snow capped mountains# Travel # One Person's Travel I am Sonja, a daydreamer who loves traveling and photography! I was deeply attracted by the name 'Rain Over the Sky'~This place has been rated as the 'most beautiful coast in the world'. In the distance is the Snow Mountain God, and near it is the sea. Although I said it was a bit thick when I left, it still looks beautiful to the naked eye~Aloha~It rained and sunny before the start of this trip to northern Japan. How romantic! And every time the tram slowly passes by, it's a unique scenery!? Rainy Day, Sunny Coast, Toyama Prefecture High Net Market, Echizen Region, Japan
Unbranded Journey / Japan's Century-old Shops / Takaoka Kanayamachi
Unbranded Journey / Experience Japanese Craftsmanship Culture / Century-old Shops / Takaoka Kanayamachi·Otera Kōhachirō
One of the shops in Takaoka's old street, Kanayamachi, was founded in the first year of the Man'en era and has a history of over 150 years. It has been passed down to the sixth generation, with a tea room at the back of the shop.
For Otera Kōhachirō, the ancestor from a hundred years ago, it is both a reverence and a commitment. Nothing is more precious than this heritage.
From the tea room, you can see about nine stone lanterns in the backyard, each from various temples in Nara, Kyoto, and Uji.
In the courtyard, you can see not only the delicacy of the Japanese garden but also an ancient yet enduring sense of the times.
Sakura in Hokuriku, Japan
During sakura full-bloom season, I went to various park for hanami. Two places that I am interested in was Kanazawa Castle and Takaoka Old Castle Park. In Takaoka, there were lesser foreigner and people and has more beautiful scenery dan other park that I had went to before.

Nice statues around Takaoka Castle Park
It’s a nice garden to hang around whereby you can enjoy the art viewing on many nice statues in the garden. However, you will find less tourists here as this is not the popular tourist spot. Takaoka Castle Park (高岡古城公園, Takaoka Kojō Kōen) is a park in central Takaoka. This park with wide lawns ideal for picnicking, lush wooded areas with walking trails, and many cherry trees. This makes the park a popular hot spot especially for the local residents.
Amaharashi
#japantrip The Amaharashi Coast is a scenic area located in the Toyama Prefecture of Japan. It's renowned for its stunning views of the Tateyama Mountain Range, which appear to rise directly out of the sea on clear days. The coast features a unique combination of rocky outcrops and sandy beaches, making it a popular destination for both tourists and photographers. The name "Amaharashi" roughly translates to "rain-clearing," reflecting the legend that the area was once cleared of rain by the prayers of a local monk.
The Promenade; Doraemon and friends!
Guess where? This may not be the common place that many people know of… Doraemon statues… It’s nearby the Takaoka station, after you step out from the station and walk towards the Takaoka Manten Hotel, then you’ll find the whole series of Doraemon statues awaiting you. These statues were established to continue to inspire creativity amongst the city’s, not only for children and also for adults :)
Toyama, a treasure trove of a city, is charming in its own right even without the 'shi' from 'Fujishan'
🎈Travelers, did you know? Besides the bustling Tokyo and Osaka, Japan also has a low-key yet enchanting treasure city—Toyama! 💎 Although it lacks the name 'Fuji', its scenery, art, and cuisine are second to none! 👀
🚄Transportation tips: Departing from Tokyo, Osaka, and other places, take the Hokuriku Shinkansen or JR express train directly to Toyama Station, then transfer to the tram or bus to easily get to various attractions! 🎒
🎨Toyama Glass Art Museum, this place is simply a perfect combination of glass and art! Designed by the architectural master Kengo Kuma, the interweaving of cedar planks, glass, and mirrors creates enchanting light and shadow, making you feel the urge to become an artist every time you visit! 👩🎨 Admission is only 200 yen, what a bargain!
🌄Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design, standing here you can overlook the stunning views of the Japanese Alps and the Uchikawa Coast, instantly broadening your mood! Moreover, it's free to enter, offering great value for money! 💖
🌊Uchikawa Coast, truly a sanctuary for healing the soul! The sea breeze gently caresses, waves lap the shore, and worries are blown away! 💨 And it's super photogenic here, easily capturing great shots!
🙏Takaoka Daibutsu, as famous as the Great Buddha of Nara and Kamakura, is a symbol of Toyama! Standing in front of the huge Buddha statue, you can feel the tranquility and solemnity, as if all worries are embraced. 🙏
💡Attention anime fans! This is also the hometown of Doraemon! Around Takaoka Station, you can encounter various Doraemon character statues, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a ride on the limited Doraemon-themed train! 🚃
🍜Food recommendation time! Glass shrimp salt ramen, with firm noodles and a rich broth, paired with Toyama Bay's unique glass shrimp, is a feast for the taste buds! There's also the Toyama rice koji miso ramen, where the unique miso flavor perfectly combines with the aroma of whole wheat flour, leaving a lasting impression! 🍲
🌈Toyama, a treasure city that is charming in its own right even without the 'shi'. 🌈 Whether it's natural scenery, artistic atmosphere, or culinary experiences, it's hard not to fall in love with this place! 💕
Takaoka Castle Ruins
#thingstodo This is a great destination for flower lovers when they're in season. In addition to its famous cherry blossoms, it has heritage plum trees with a variety of different colors of blossom. It's also family friendly with a zoo and spacious park grounds. There are a variety of full facilities, including some excellent restaurants. Do keep in mind that it's nationally famous and so can become incredibly crowded during it's busy seasons.
A temple in Takaoka
This is Zuiryuji Temple. This famous Soto-school Zen temple was built by Maeda Toshitsune, the third lord of the Kaga Maeda han. The name is said to derive from the posthumous Buddhist name of Maeda Toshinaga, which was Zuiryu-in. The main gate, main hall, and Dharma hall stand in a line, and the temple buildings are laid out symmetrically left and right, interconnected by roofed passageways in a beautiful and powerful sight. Construction took about 20 years to complete. The temple complex was originally surrounded by a moat, like a castle. The buildings toward the front were destroyed by fire in the mid-18th century, and the main gate rebuilt about 70 years later. In the late Showa era the temple underwent extensive repair over a ten-year span, and in 1997 the main gate, main hall, and Dharma hall were designated national architectural treasures.
In 2024, I want to go to Takayama.

The Great Buddha of Takaoka
The Great Buddha of Takaoka, located in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is said to be one of Japan’s three largest Buddhas, along with the Todaiji Temple’s Great Buddha of Nara, and the Great Buddha of Kamakura in Kanagawa Prefecture. It was completed in 1907 after 26 years of work, and is dubbed “The most beautiful man in Japan” because of its excellent workmanship.
This is a must-see in Toyama.
In 2024, I want to go to Shizuoka to see the hanging bridge.

Japan Offbeat|Surrounded by mountains and sea, a guide to the sunny coastal route
|Surrounded by mountains and sea, a guide to the sunny coastal route. Japan Offbeat|Surrounded by mountains and sea, a guide to the sunny coastal route.
A few years ago, I was attracted by a photo: towering snow-capped mountains, azure sea, and a rock standing alone in the sea. The red train travels along the sea, the whole atmosphere is too beautiful.
The sunny coast can see the Tateyama Kurobe Snow Mountain Range across Toyama Bay, which is called the Northern Alps of Japan. To see the stunning scenery in the promotional photos, not only do you need to choose the right season, but also encounter good weather. I went in the early morning of early November, the sun was quite strong, the snow mountain was not very obvious, but it was very comfortable to walk by the sea~
Transportation route:
JR Himi Line: Takaoka-Amefuri about half an hour
Hokuriku Shinkansen Shin-Takaoka Station takes the Jōtetsu Line to Takaoka Station; Kanazawa Station/Toyama Station takes the IR Ishikawa Railway·Ainokaze Toyama Railway to Takaoka Station, then transfer to the Himi Line to Amefuri Station
Tips: The departure interval of the Himi Line is relatively long, about one hour, remember to check the round-trip train times
Amefuri Station is very small, only cash tickets can be bought, Takayama Hokuriku JRpass Himi Line is not available
Tour direction (map in the last one):
If you want to go to the coastal trail, turn right out of the station, walk for about 5 minutes, turn right through the railway to reach
If you want to go to Onna Rock for photo viewing, turn left out of the station, you can see Michi no Eki in about 5 minutes, above is the viewing position
Onna Rock
Walking to the sea, the first thing you see is Onna Rock standing in the sea. The rock has elegant green pines and always appears as the foreground of the mountains and seas in various photographic works
Tateyama Peaks
The 3000-meter-high Tateyama Peaks form the background of Amefuri. In winter, the top of the mountain is covered with snow, forming a beautiful landscape painting with the blue of the sea.
Seaside Train
The Himi Line runs along the coast, and the red train adds dynamics to the composition of the coastal snow mountain. Whether you are watching from the viewing platform or looking out the window on the train, the scenery is beautiful. But not every train is red, the train interval timetable can be seen inside the station
Michi no Eki Amefuri
There is a white building on the opposite side of the coast. The 2nd and 3rd floors are outdoor viewing platforms. This is a great place to shoot a small train.
There is a cafe and a lot of Doraemon peripherals inside. Sitting in front of the clean floor-to-ceiling windows and having a cup of coffee is really comfortable~
The coast is beautiful all year round, and the snow scene in winter is even more beautiful. The snow period of Tateyama Peaks is from October to June of the following year. Only when the weather is good enough can you see such a stunning view.
It is recommended to go in the afternoon, the sun is not so strong, and the light and shadow of the sunset will be very good

Japan Hokuriku Deep Tour - Searching for Doraemon's Hometown in Takayama City
Takaoka is a very small city in Japan. My wife and I traveled to Kansai and Hokuriku for a month this time. We came to Takaoka mainly to visit the exhibition hall of Fujiko F. Fujio and reminisce about our favorite childhood cartoon, Doraemon.
Stayed at a hotel next to the station and started walking slowly around the city in the morning. First went to the Gao Tang Buddha, then to the Ancient City Park. Surprisingly, the Ancient City Park is a free park with a free zoo inside. The Ancient City Park in mid-November is even more stunning, as the plants by the pond color the entire pond, and any photo taken with a mobile phone is a salon masterpiece.
Spent the morning playing in the park, had lunch and then went to the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum, and finally checked in at the Doraemon Park. Today we were lucky enough to see the famous Tateyama mountain range in the distance all day long. Managed to visit all the attractions just before it got dark. So happy!
Japanese niche coast · Amagihama coast
The Rainy and Clear Coast is really beautiful.
Another year of red leaves season, I just want to go to Kanazawa Fushimi to enjoy the maple leaves. At that time, I saw a photo of Yuqing Coast on 🍠 and suddenly wanted to go there.
When I saw the coastline from the tram, I was instantly amazed. It was really beautiful, and there weren't many people compared to Kyoto's autumn leaves viewing and Kamakura's beach.
Really, really love Rainy Coast. At that time, I hated myself for not knowing how to take photos and not having a telephoto lens to take beautiful pictures.
🚃Transportation
Take the Aizuwakamatsu Railway from Toyama Station to Takayama, transfer to the Hida Line and go to Ame-no-Kogen Station.

There are many small cities in Toyama Bay that are less beautiful and have spirituality. As the hometown of Fujiko Fujio, Takaoka knows that it is defined as the city of Dangdang Cat. I dont know that there are many ancient treasures in this country. About 15 minutes walk from the new Takaoka Station, you can see the Ruilong Temple built more than 350 years ago. It is said that this temple took 20 years to build, was created by the third generation of Takaoka Castle, Maeda, and was designated as the national treasure of Japan in 1997. The majestic Jialan pattern of Ruilong Temple is magnificent and elegant. It has a sense of beauty among the lush lawns. It is a typical building in the early Edo period, and it also shows the momentum of the 120-year-old stone power of Kaga! There are basically no foreign tourists here. If you want to avoid the crowds of tourists, Gaogang is a good choice.
Yuqing Coast is a famous attraction in Toyama Prefecture. When the weather is good, you can see the peak of Tateyama in the back of Toyama Bay. The weather forecast was heavy rain. I didn't want to go to the Yuqing coast. I didn't expect to get off the bus when I got off the bus. I just couldn't see the place where Lishan Lianfeng ~
nearby dining. There are not too many places near Yijingyan. The station of the road with observation deck and souvenir shop "Yue Qing". In the cafe on the second floor, it is especially recommended for summer seasons. Only 30 servings of plums, cold meat and ice are seen in Udon. The udon noodles are very tough, with sour plums and thin slices of meat, which are especially refreshing in summer.
When it comes to Japan, I always think of the spirit of the craftsman, and with respect for the craftsmen, we came to Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, where the casters were born. Jinya-cho is the oldest street in Takaoka City, and it still retains its quaint appearance. There are various art workshops on the street, and some old brands have the experience of casting experience.
We inadvertently walked into an old shop called "Osaka Koshiro Store", which sells a variety of objects and antiques. The old house has a room dedicated to handicrafts. Porcelain, wood, and copper handicrafts, even the shelves of the shelves are carefully crafted.
Lisaburo Casting Workshop can be said to be the representative of Jinya Town's hand-casting. This shop was founded in the Meiji 5 years and has a history of more than 150 years. It started from the first generation founder Saburo. The century-old casting technology has been the fifth generation of descendants. The store is mainly engaged in Takaoka bronzes, in addition to flower arrangement, tea ceremony, incense burner and other crafts, everything is antique. At the back of the shop, there is a workshop for the experience of casting. Under the careful guidance of the three generations of Lisaburo, a unique DIY handicraft is cast by hand. The whole creation process is simple, safe and full of fun.
