【Must-Visit Attractions】
1. Naruto Whirlpools: Taking a sightseeing boat is one of the best ways to view the whirlpools 🤩. You can not only see the whirlpools up close but also feel the turbulent and rotating water when the boat gets close to the whirlpool area, which is both thrilling and breathtaking 🤪.
2. Iya Vine Bridge: The vine bridge spans a steep gorge with rushing river water below. Although it has been reinforced and is very safe, it still wobbles when you walk on it 🫨.
3. Ritsurin Garden: The entire park is composed of a series of lakes, small bridges, and pavilions, perfectly blending the essence of Edo-period garden design. Walking through it feels like being in a graceful and charming landscape painting 😍.
【Must-Try Foods】
1. Sanuki Udon in Kagawa is one of Japan's top three udon varieties, and there are many famous small shops around 🍜.
2. Kagawa's Bone-in Chicken is also a must-try 😋. It's grilled chicken leg seasoned with salt and pepper, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
3. Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes are a specialty of Tokushima, with golden-yellow flesh that is very delicious 🍠.
【Accommodation Recommendations】
⭐️ Recommended Area: If staying in Takamatsu, it's recommended to stay near Takamatsu JR Station for convenient transportation and proximity to Takamatsu Port.
🏨 Hotel Name: JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu
📍 Hotel Address: 1-1 Hamano Cho, Takamatsu, Takamatsu, Japan, 760-0011
【Photo Spots】
1. The viewpoint under the Naruto Bridge offers a closer view and great photo opportunities of the spectacular Naruto Bridge 🌁.
【Tips】
⭐️ If you want to see the full-sized Naruto Whirlpools, be sure to check the official website for information. The whirlpools are affected by tides and seasons, and the website has detailed viewing guides and schedules. Checking this before booking your sightseeing boat tickets will increase your chances of seeing the full whirlpools.
Shikoku Takamatsu - Night Views x Maple Leaves x Design
Last November, when we arrived in Takamatsu, our first stop was Yashima. At the Shishi-no-Reigan Observatory, we overlooked Takamatsu City and the Seto Inland Sea. By the time we reached the mountain, it was already dark. Our family of four groped through Yashima Temple, one of the 88 sacred sites of Shikoku, and were greeted by a stunning night view! Takamatsu may not be considered a big city by Hong Kong standards, but its flat urban landscape creates a unique and breathtaking night scene. From the heights, looking down at the tranquil city, the photo-like view was deeply etched in our minds. On the first day of our trip, our family fell in love with this place.
But the surprises of Yashima go beyond the night scenery. Next to the observatory is the Yashima Mountain Exchange Center, a masterpiece of architecture completed in 2022. This curved viewing corridor seems to compete with the romantic night scenery in terms of architectural aesthetics, making it hard to decide where to focus your gaze. Adding to the beauty are the outdoor maple leaves. The night maples, paired with the distant city lights, rival the famous maple viewing spots like Kankakei and Ritsurin Garden. The city's nightscape, the red maples, and the architectural beauty complement each other, creating a chorus of exclamations on Yashima Mountain.
To create an unforgettable spot, some regrets are inevitable. Unfortunately, we went up the mountain at night and couldn't enjoy the sunset from the west-facing observatory. If we could have seen the sunset with the evening glow, accompanied by the gradually falling night, it would have been unimaginably beautiful and awe-inspiring.

Takamatsu is a very comfortable seaside town
Highly recommended to arrange a whole day to experience the beauty and relaxation of this city
Don't miss out or you'll regret it! This is the real-life version of a dreamy Suzunari journey!
After nearly 10 trips to Japan🌏, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka have all seen my footprints. But today, I want to reveal to you a hidden treasure in Japan—Takamatsu Castle!🏙️
No need to detour through Hong Kong, direct flights from Shanghai to Takamatsu are now available!✨
Let me take you on a four-day, three-night island-hopping fantasy trip!🚀
💖Accommodation: Immerse yourself in the romantic nights at Takamatsu Port, where all three nights will be a perfect experience!
🌸Day 1: Takamatsu—Ritsurin Garden
🎋Ritsurin Garden, the third-ranked Michelin three-star garden in Japan, offers scenery that can compete with any garden or temple in Kyoto! The Nan-en's 'Hiraiho' is like nature's magic mirror, reflecting the beauty of the garden in full. Don't forget to taste the matcha and sweets at Kyugetsu-tei Pavilion; the texture of the dango is absolutely unforgettable!
🌊Day 2: Takamatsu—Naoshima
🚤Take a large ferry or a high-speed boat to Naoshima. The larger ferry is more stable and comfortable, a wise choice. Here, you will encounter Yayoi Kusama's red and yellow pumpkins, becoming a unique landmark in your journey. The white mesh structure of Naoshima Pavilion and the profound art of Chichu Art Museum will be unforgettable memories of your trip.
🌳Day 3: Takamatsu—Teshima
🛵Rent an electric bicycle to explore the unique charm of Teshima. Teshima Yokoo House, an art hall converted from a private house; the Sea Restaurant, facing the sea, where you can enjoy delicious food and beautiful views; Teshima Art Museum and the Heartbeat Museum are destinations not to be missed on this trip.
🌾Day 4: Takamatsu—Shodoshima
🚗Public transportation on Shodoshima is inconvenient, so it is recommended to hire a car or rent one for sightseeing. The soy sauce ice cream from the soy sauce factory is an ultimate taste experience; Olive Tree Park, the filming location for Kiki's Delivery Service, where you can borrow a broom and create beautiful memories under the big windmill; Nijushi no Hitomi Movie Village, which can be skipped by those not familiar with Japanese cinema, but it's far from the port and requires patience to find.
🍱Cuisine: In Takamatsu, you can't miss bone-in chicken and udon. Ikkaku bone-in chicken, Kichitori Izakaya, Taisai Sakaba, Seto Sushi, and Udon Baka Ichidai are all popular shops that will provide you with an unforgettable culinary experience.
✨This is a journey full of fantasy and beauty, like a real-life Suzunari journey. Don't hesitate any longer, come to Takamatsu and start your adventure!🌠
Don't go to Tokyo, these smaller cities in Japan are more interesting!
I've been living in Japan for almost a year without realizing it. In addition to the well-known Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, I've also visited quite a few smaller cities. Here are some of my personal favorite small cities for those who are struggling to decide where to go (in no particular order)
⭕ Takamatsu
Takamatsu is the capital of Kagawa Prefecture in Shikoku, and it was the first place I visited on my trip to Japan 10 years ago. It has a famous nickname as the hometown of udon noodles, so you can enjoy various kinds of udon here. Also, the triennial 'Setouchi Triennale' art festival is an event not to be missed, and from Takamatsu Port, it's very convenient to travel to treasure islands such as Shodoshima, Naoshima, and Teshima.
⭕ Kochi
It could be said to be the most low-key capital city in the Shikoku region. This is the hometown of the anti-shogunate warrior Sakamoto Ryoma. During my half-day city walk in Kochi, I truly felt the city's tranquil atmosphere. Additionally, I particularly like Kochi's trams, which have super cute liveries.
⭕ Tokushima
Tokushima is also a place I visited on my first trip to Japan. The Awa Dance is a local specialty here, and you must see it. Also, the Iya Valley is a great place to escape the summer heat.
⭕ Onomichi
A small city facing Shikoku across the sea from Honshu, it has both mountains and sea, and cycling is very popular here. Cycling from Onomichi to Shikoku's 'Shimanami Kaido' is known as Japan's most beautiful cycling route. Ramen and oysters are local specialties here. Oh, and Yasujiro Ozu's famous work 'Tokyo Story' was also filmed in Onomichi.
⭕ Kanazawa
The largest city in the Hokuriku region of Japan. It is also a city with a 'high gold content.' Ninety-nine percent of Japan's gold leaf is produced here, so you can buy various gold leaf products, including food and drinks containing gold leaf. Additionally, one of Japan's three great gardens, Kenrokuen, is also located in Kanazawa.
⭕ Saga
Saga in Kyushu is often rated as one of the cities in Japan with the least presence. But after going to Saga, I fell in love with it. Saga's ramen and Wagyu beef are really delicious, and the key is that they are much cheaper than in big cities. A double portion of Saga beef for just over 5000 yen is incredibly tempting.
⭕ Hakodate
I've been to Hakodate twice, once in autumn and once in winter. Compared to Sapporo, Hakodate is much more interesting. From Mount Hakodate, you can see the million-dollar night view, and Goryokaku Park is a treasure with beautiful scenery all year round.
Check in at the Michelin three-star circuit-style courtyard hidden in Takamatsu city!
In Takamatsu city, Japan, there is a garden that has been hidden for hundreds of years. It is hidden in the city, unrelated to the hustle and bustle, and is quiet in a corner. It is the 'Ritsurin Park' rated as a three-star destination by the Michelin Tour Guide.
Walking into Ritsurin Park, the green fields and fresh air make me feel relaxed. It is said that there are a thousand pine trees in it, which are matched with buildings, rockeries, and lakes. Walking or boating during the period can be described as changing scenery with every step, and it is worthy of its reputation as a 'circuit-style daimyo garden' in Japan.
In addition to outdoor viewing, going to the indoor of the Ritsurin Park building, either sitting quietly and drinking tea to enjoy the outside scenery, or taking pictures with the building as the medium and the scenery as the background, is also a picturesque viewing experience.
Overall, I think this destination is very worth recommending. After a trip, I still have a lot to do. I look forward to having the opportunity to come here again, and feel the ease here with a more 'slow' speed and mentality.

The Ritsurin Garden symbolizes the prime of "encircled garden" during the Edo period. Whichever season you choose, different views are here for you. I love the Holding Moon Pavilion most. It's a nice place to take a picture because pines, texture painted on small stones, pond and others in the park look very exquisite. I ordered a cup of steamed green tea and fruits to enjoy the scenery. I felt so good!
Mew Travel Lilin Park | Michelin recommended, Japanese garden in the painting
a place that is expected in this trip ~
Li Lilin Park began to build in 1642, spent 100 years Time is carefully carved, green mountains and green waters, one step at a time, each scene can constitute a quaint Japanese scroll.
We came early in the morning, there are still no people in the park, only occasionally seeing a few garden workers pruning plants. The sun is still obscured by the clouds, showing a blue-yellow, cool-toned picture, full of mystery, quiet and quiet, with an unreal feeling, thinking that he is still in a dream.
There are gradually a few sun rays coming in through the intertwined branches and leaves, and it has become another dreamy scene. It is really beautiful.
has six pools and thirteen rockeries, all of which offer a completely different style of view. The pine trees are particularly rich in variety, and they are elegant and classical. Many of them are two or three hundred years old, so they are so admired!
When you walked to the lake, there was a feeling of openness in front of you. The semicircular Lunar Bridge in the middle of the lake is reflected on the water. The boat is layered and layered. The level is full of Zen. There are many koi in the water. When people come over, they will look up and eat.
When you are tired, you will take a nap in the pavilion surrounded by the lake. The room in the tatami room is too pleasant. Matcha is accompanied by traditional Japanese snacks. This exquisite environment is worth staying all day, and the time goes by.
Mew travel, Showa style barbecue shop, fell in love with this thick fireworks atmosphere
Showa style shop is always people can not help but see a few more eyes - just happen to be near dinner time, the original want to go to several I haven't opened the door yet, and I was attracted by this store, I tried this smoke-filled rotisserie.
The store is compact but not crowded. It reveals some small details that are quite interesting. It doesn't take long before you sit down, people are getting more and more, and soon the store has begun to line up.
I highly recommend their viscera platter, full of a large plate, and can eat five kinds at a time, the ingredients are very fresh, the oil is sufficient, and the chew is very elastic.
Meat platter may be a bit less for people with a big appetite. While eating and smelling the rich flavour of the meat on the grill, the appetite is wide open!
Seeing that the foreigner at the next table may not be used to the internal organs, he ordered some beef, but fortunately, there is also a staple food to choose from.
(1016, 1-chome, Takamachi, Takamatsu, Japan)
I recently went to Japan to enjoy the flowers in the spring. I dont want to waste time on the traffic and want to avoid the crowd. I often recommend Takamatsu City next to the Seto Inland Sea in the Shikoku area. It is super convenient to fly directly from Shanghai or go to Osaka to play by bus. !
Its Michelins Lilin Park that comes to Takamatsus spring. For the first time, I know that the park also has Michelin. Although the name is "Lilin", there are actually more than 1,400 pine trees in it. The garden of four hundred years of history is very beautiful. The bridges and pavilions are very good for one step. Now the plum blossoms in the garden have been opened, and the cherry blossoms will continue in the end of March. Open, the most suitable time to come!
Wear a kimono to visit Japanese gardens. Its a good place to rent a kimono. The garden pavilion on the right hand side of the park, the style of the kimono is pretty good, and the price is also very high. La, wear a kimono to visit the garden to see the flowers and gray often feel, concave shape photo beauty!

kimono experience: 2.5 hours 3800 yen
Come to Kagawa Prefecture, the birthplace of Wudong, one of the three largest Udon in Japan. Of course, you should eat the udon noodles that are special here! Near Takamatsu Airport, there is a famous "Kawada " that is famous for eating Udon. It is recommended to go to the airport and take a trip to taste the authentic Udon. This old shop has been 80 years old. His family's udon noodles are very Q-bomb, and the soup is very fresh. Hot and cold Udon is delicious! You can also buy the Udon noodles from Kawada in the store. It is very good as a gift. ~
If you are interested in udon noodles, you can also go to "Nakanoya School" to learn udon noodles. The school specializing in the production of udon noodles has been established for a hundred years. It is very famous in Kagawa. The whole experience process is 40-60 minutes. There is a special teacher to teach. After the study, you will be awarded a diploma and a secret pass, and you can taste your own. Udon noodles ~~~

Visit Ogijima and Megijima for the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival!
In 2025, the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival will take place, and tickets are already available. Ogijima and Megijima are must-see destinations during this event. Outside the festival period, only outdoor artworks are accessible, so it's best to plan your visit for next year. You can make a day trip from Takamatsu.
Megijima, with a population of about 100, is said to be the inspiration for the demon island in the Momotaro legend. Notable artworks include:
1. "20th Century Recall" - A triangular piano with four sails, creating a romantic blend of waves and melodies.
2. "Seagull Parking Lot" - Seagull signboards on the breakwater that change direction with the wind.
3. "Terraced Wind" - 400 ceramic pieces integrated into the landscape of former terraced fields.
4. "Onigashima Cave" - Features demon tiles made by local students; it's a bit far and not very interesting, but reportedly cool inside.
During the art festival, additional works are open:
5. "Mekon" - A former school turned into an art space showcasing colorful works by Shinro Ohtake.
6. "Megijima Shopping Street" - A themed park with cafes, a barber shop, a ping-pong hall, and a glass fishing gear store.
7. "ISLAND THEATRE MEGI" - A retro theater in a renovated warehouse with a Manhattan vibe.
8. "Absent Presence" - An intriguing piece to experience firsthand.
Ogijima, also known as Cat Island, has fewer cats now due to neutering. The island offers a calming sea view and is a hidden gem. Highlights include:
1. "Walking Ark" - Inspired by Noah's Ark, featuring four white and blue mountains.
2. "Soul of Ogijima" - White letters on rooftops.
3. "Wallalley Project" - Colorful murals made from recycled wood and boats.
4. "Ogijima Library" - Check the website for open days, usually weekends.
5. "Toyotama-hime Shrine" - Offers stunning sea views from the top.
6. "Sunset and Cat House" - A cafe where the owner cares for all the island's cats, each with a name.
During the festival, additional works are open:
7. "Room within a Room" - Another piece to explore.
8. "Generative Drawing" - A mural room depicting the coexistence of plants, shells, humans, and the ocean.
Transportation:
- 8:00-8:20 Takamatsu to Megijima (370 yen)
- 12:20-12:40 Megijima to Ogijima (240 yen)
- 17:00-17:40 Ogijima to Takamatsu (510 yen)
Tips:

Exploring Japan's Two Major Art Festivals
Japan's Niigata Earth Art Festival and Setouchi Triennale are two major outdoor art festivals curated by the same person, Fram Kitagawa. The term 'Earth Art Festival' has become a proprietary term. Both festivals share the concept of 'problem-solving art festivals,' focusing on local life and drawing out local resources through artistic creation. In October 2022, I traveled from Tokyo to the southern part of Japan, Setouchi, taking a flight of over an hour and spent about four days exploring the artworks of the Setouchi Triennale.
Many famous artists' works have become popular spots, such as Yayoi Kusama's pumpkins. There are two pumpkins, a red one placed at Naoshima Port and a yellow one on the Naoshima seawall, titled 'Pumpkin at the End of the World.' We stayed in Takamatsu and took a ferry every morning to Naoshima, Teshima, Ogijima, and Megijima to check out the artworks. The festival is well-situated, creating large visual effects, even making buses and ferries artistic.
Architecture enthusiasts would know that Setouchi has several works by Tadao Ando, such as the Chichu Art Museum, Lee Ufan Museum, and the Naoshima Ferry Terminal by Kazuyo Sejima. In short, visiting once and staying for a few days is not enough to see all the festival's exhibits. After finishing the exhibitions, I chose a bold return journey by purchasing a JR train ticket and planned to ride back to Tokyo. Every time the train stopped, sometimes for half an hour or an hour, I would get off and explore the surrounding areas, discovering different cities in Japan. It was tiring but full of surprises. We should always maintain a mindset of continuously exploring new things. In Osaka, I saw the logo 'Cell' for the 2025 Expo.
Get Ready for the 2025 Setouchi Triennale: Ticket and Island Hopping Guide!
The "Setouchi International Art Festival" has been held every three years since 2010, surrounded by the beautiful blue ocean. The sixth edition in 2025 will showcase the unique creations of hundreds of artists and art groups from around the world on the islands scattered across Kagawa Prefecture, Okayama Prefecture, and the Seto Inland Sea. The festival was born out of a desire to preserve the rich history and cultural heritage of this sea area. Once a bridge for cultural exchange, the Seto Inland Sea's islands have developed a unique charm through their interactions. However, globalization has brought challenges such as industrial changes, population decline, aging, and vacant houses. In response, art teams have collaborated to create this festival to protect the individuality and vitality of the islands.

Japanese attractions 🇯🇵 are calling you who like Anpanman
There is a square in Takamatsu Station with many restaurants and clothing stores.
And this is the busiest subway station in Takamatsu, with a lot of people.
But there is actually an Anpanman train check-in slot on the fourth floor of the square.
The entire floor is decorated with Anpanman graphics, even the trash cans have graphics!
Definitely a place that kids will love to go to
Compared to prosperous cities like Tokyo and Osaka, Takamatsu has a slower pace
Shops generally close very early
Although it is not a very advanced city, it is cleaner, more casual and more comfortable.
Takamatsu Station is near the port and can be reached on foot
📍Address: Takamatsu Station Plaza

Looking for Cats - Shikoku Ogijima
#Itinerary Sharing #Island #100 Ways to Travel #Travel Tips #November Good Places 2024 #Register for November Hotel Sleep Tester
This place was once known as a cat island🐱, but if you come because of cats then you will be disappointed😧, because in 2016 the cats were neutered collectively🏥. When undergoing surgery, the cat's ears are cut into a V shape✂️ under general anesthesia💉 for identification. Since the shape is similar to the cherry blossom petals🌸, the neutered cat is also called the cherry blossom cat🐈⬛.
。
However, I can vaguely see cats👀, for example, I have at most three cats playing with me at the shrine⛩️ at the same time, and this photo was taken at Ogi Fishing Port📷.
。
Why sterilization surgery❓
As many people on the island have moved to the city 🏙️, the population loss of Manki Island is serious 🌫️, too many wild cats have begun to produce problems such as destroying crops 🌾, urinating and defecating everywhere 💩. There were too many complaints from residents about the overabundance of cats 🗂️, when there were more than 200 cats, even more than the residents 📊, the relevant unit carried out sterilization surgery for cats across the island.
。
How to get to Ogijima❓
Take a ferry⛴️ from Takamatsu and reach Ogijima📍 for about 40 minutes via Ogijima.
。
Introduction to Mankijima📝
It has a population of about 148 and an area of only 1.34㎢🗺️
There is little flat land on the island, so villages are gathered in stepped areas in the south and west 🏘️. Viewed from the sea, the houses are scaly, becoming a unique landscape🌌.
Yadon x Kagawa Stamp Rally Completed ㊗️🎉
#DomesticTravelRecord
I went to Kagawa 😌🫶
I visited for the first time since January this year, but no matter how many times I visit, it's a wonderful place! I happened to find out that there was a Yadon stamp rally going on at Kankakei in Shodoshima, so I decided to collect them while I was there ✨️
We got stamps at:
・Kankakei (Shodoshima)
・Shodoshima International Hotel (Shodoshima)
・Tamamo Park (Takamatsu) ✊💖
I also went to Ritsurin Garden, but I didn't know about this stamp rally at the time 😢
I'm glad we were able to complete it safely ☺️It seems like it's going on until the end of December this year, so if you're planning to visit Kagawa, please give it a try ❤️
There are Yadons everywhere in Kagawa and they're so cute!

Souvenir Shop Shikoku Shop 88 near Takamatsu Station
Operating Hours: 10:00-21:00
Address: 2-1 Sunport, Takamatsu, Kagawa 760-0019
✔️This souvenir shop is located on the first floor of the Symbol Tower. They have the most Yadon-related souvenirs here! There's also a place where you can take pictures with Yadon, so if you like Yadon, be sure to visit!
✔️The Yadon photo booth costs 600 yen and does not give change, so I exchanged money at the souvenir shop.
✔️They also have udon and olive-related products. The price of olive cider here is not much different from other places (about 100 yen difference), so I bought and drank it here. It's quite good, so give it a try!
