The Medina in Rabat was well-organized, clean, and easy to navigate. As you'd expect from the Medina of the capital. There was no pushy sales and no forced sales, so I was able to shop at my own pace. I bought 10 magnets and 4 bottles of Moroccan oil. I had heard that the Medina in Rabat doesn't do much bargaining, but the store where I bought the magnets gave me a free magnet of my choice (so 11 in total), and the store where I bought the Moroccan oil gave me a free soap. I was happy with the little considerations, and I was able to shop comfortably. The magnets were 10DH each. So it was nice to get an extra one for free (*^_^*) The price also differs depending on the store, but I felt that 10DH was about the average. The designs of the magnets sold at each store are slightly different, so I think it's a good idea to choose one based on your favorite pattern or shape, the attitude of the staff, and so on. There are many shops so please take your time and enjoy your shopping☆ The Moroccan oil was about 800 yen in Japanese yen. I was told that I didn't get a receipt, but the staff's detailed explanation was what made me decide to buy it. I honestly don't know much about the quality, so you can try it on, or you can choose based on the cleanliness of the store and the knowledge of the staff. Some stores accept credit cards, but most only take cash. It's safer to have cash ready. After leaving the medina, you can see the Kasbah of the Udayas. This place was also used as a location for the movie "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (5th movie)", and it was easy to access, so I was glad to see it while shopping in the medina. We went to the famous Marrakech souk, which is said to be the largest commercial city in the world. (Souk = market) The old town has more than 3,000 alleys that spread out to the north of Fna Square. The souk sells a variety of items, and is divided into areas for each genre, such as spices, leather products, clothing, babouches, pottery, glass products, brass, lamps, and food. In Chefchaouen, where the whole city is dyed blue, every shop is photogenic. Agafay Desert is about an hour and a half drive from Marrakech. We had a stylish glamping experience in the desert. You can enjoy shisha, sunset camel rides, bonfires, and a pool in the middle of the desert. It didn't show up in the photo, but I saw a starry sky and a sunrise that turned pink... During a trip around Morocco, we took a 4-hour drive from Marrakech to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, which is registered as a World Heritage Site. 🏜️ Ait Ben Haddou has been the setting for many masterpieces, including Star Wars. I stayed at Casablanca Marriott Hotel for 2 nights and 3 days (standard room) and 1 night and 2 days (upgraded room) on another day. The rooms were cleaned nicely. What surprised me was that the housekeeper tried to enter the room at 9:30 a.m. when I stayed there for 1 night and 2 days. This happened in other hotels in Morocco as well. The housekeeper comes in the morning regardless of whether it is check-out day or not. I wonder if this is a Moroccan thing 😱 In accordance with the housekeeping rules, they don't care even before check-out. So it is better to be sure to "Don't disturb" and lock the door. Other than that, the front desk and concierge are very friendly. ■ We had lunch at the restaurant. There are several options, such as salad buffet and full buffet, and the prices vary, but even the most economical salad buffet had a sufficient number of items and was very delicious. It was a very relaxing space! ■There is an ATM in the hotel. I was able to withdraw cash in peace (it's annoying to be in the city). I used ATMs in other places, but this one had the lowest fees when using ATMs in Morocco. It might be a hidden gem. ■I didn't use it, but there seems to be a currency exchange nearby with a good rate. ■The doorman will call you for a taxi and negotiate for you, but he will ask you for a fairly high price. If you are not happy with the price, tell the doorman and ask him to look for another one. I heard from hoteliers in other cities that Casablanca basically uses a metered system, but maybe they negotiate for tourists. ■A taxi from Casablanca Airport took about 30 minutes and cost 5,000 yen. The journey took about 50 minutes and cost 60DH for a second-class seat. I bought my train ticket the day before because the manned ticket counters can be crowded. When I got off the train, there was security, so it took about 30 minutes to get through.
