2025 Suzuka Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

Some people say Nagoya is the most boring city in Japan, but I completely disagree. This 6-day 5-night family trip during the summer was incredibly satisfying! Day 1: We took an afternoon flight and arrived at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya at 8 PM Japan time. Since we had already filled out the entry forms on Visit Japan Web, the immigration process was very quick. Because we flew with a budget airline, we landed at Terminal 2 and had to walk to Terminal 1 to pick up our car, which took about 15 minutes. It was quite a walk! After picking up the car, we headed straight to the city, dropped off our luggage at the hotel, and immediately went to Isomaru Suisan for a seafood dinner. After a satisfying meal, we went back to the hotel to prepare for the next day's itinerary. Day 2: We had a Japanese-style breakfast at McDonald's, then drove to Houraiken to get a ticket for their famous eel rice. We then visited Atsuta Shrine to draw a fortune slip, spent an hour at Osu Shopping Street, and returned to Houraiken for lunch. Afterward, we took a stroll around Nagoya Castle, got new glasses at Aeon Mall, and had dinner at a local ramen shop before heading back to the hotel. Day 3: We started the day early with onigiri and sandwiches from Aeon, then drove 165 kilometers to Takayama for a local Hida beef meal. We spent over an hour exploring Takayama Old Town, then drove another 50 minutes to ride the rail bikes. After that, we drove almost 200 kilometers back to Nagoya for dinner at Sushiro, followed by a shopping spree at Don Quijote before returning to the hotel to rest. Day 4: We woke up naturally, had a local Nagoya breakfast, and drove 60 kilometers to Suzuka Circuit, where we played until around 5 PM. Due to heavy rain, we decided to leave early and drove to AEON Mall in Suzuka City for more shopping and a simple dinner at the food court. We then braved the heavy rain to drive back to Nagoya. Day 5: Still feeling full, we had a light breakfast, checked out, and moved our luggage to LEGOLAND. After dropping off our luggage, we spent the day at LEGOLAND, then returned to the hotel to rest. Later, we drove back to Nagoya for a high-quality yakiniku dinner before returning to the hotel. Day 6: We had a lavish breakfast at the LEGOLAND hotel, then headed to the Nagashima Outlet for some serious shopping. We filled our bags to the brim, refueled the car near the airport, made a final shopping stop at a nearby supermarket, and returned the car at the airport. After checking in our luggage, we visited the Flight of Dreams exhibit next to Terminal 2, enjoyed some ramen while watching a Boeing 787, and then departed for Hong Kong. So, Nagoya is definitely not boring, and we even ran out of time to do everything we wanted!

Uokaname is a ryokan (Japanese-style inn) located in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture. This is a homely inn that makes you feel like you've come back to your grandma's house. This inn is more about the food than the accommodation. The dinner and breakfast were very luxurious and I was very satisfied even though I eat a lot. We were able to enjoy lots of fresh fish, shrimp, and crab. It is run by a married couple, and the very kind husband comforted me. There is a beach nearby, so it is a popular inn for anglers. It is also often used by families as a place to stay on the way back from the Suzuka Circuit. In the summer, it seems like it would be good to use it on the way back from swimming in the sea or an event. There is a parking lot, and it is close to the Kintetsu station, so it is also recommended for solo travelers. The price varies depending on the season, but I was able to stay for 4,000 yen with a plan that included meals. Ocean Terrace Hotel & Wedding in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture. It's a wedding venue, but there's a hotel on the top floor with only six rooms. Only one room has a jacuzzi, but it was much cheaper than a regular hotel with a jacuzzi. The bed is very large and the room is very relaxing. The smell was also very nice and soothing. I didn't go anywhere else in Suzuka City except for visiting cafes, so I spent two days relaxing in the hotel with the jacuzzi. In the evening, I bought some champagne at the supermarket and relaxed. There is a bath inside, so I can go outside or inside depending on my mood. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese and Western food, which is very filling, and it was great to be able to eat in a private space for this price. Maybe because there are only a few rooms, I hardly met anyone from other rooms. My favorite thing about the room was the sink next to the bathroom. The interior had a very nice smell and a stylish European style. For dinner, we went to a restaurant called Sunny Pancakes inside the hotel. It was very convenient and nice to be able to go to a stylish cafe without going outside the hotel. It was also easy to go back to the room immediately after drinking. I've stayed at many hotels before, but this was the one I was most satisfied with. The rooms were lovely, had a jacuzzi, and were reasonably priced. There was a stylish cafe inside the hotel, and the interior was special because it was a wedding hall. The appeal of Suzuka Circuit is not just the impressive car races with their sound and speed. It's a wonderful theme park with plenty of ideas to satisfy anyone who visits, including karts that even small children can enjoy driving, a fairy tale-like amusement park that will delight those who love cute things, and restaurants and natural hot springs that will satisfy adults who want to immerse themselves in a resort atmosphere! At 5,807m, it is the longest course in Japan and one of the most technical courses, with a variety of corners including straights, tight corners, medium-speed corners, and high-speed corners.

#springblossom Definitely check their social media for the flowering status before going. We went during full bloom and it was like someone threw up pink vomit everywhere. The ticket price changes according to the flowering status. We took the designated bus from Yokkaichi train station on (pamphlet on their website, it is not easy to find the bus stand, the station staff who was such an angel, walked with us to show us, you have to cross roads to get there) and it was an 800yen ride. Remember to buy your return ticket too!! Take note of the bus times as we missed the return bus and had to wait for the last bus 3+hours later in the cold. Approached staff for help and they offered to help call the taxi company, the estimated price to the bus station would be 10,000yen... There were small food stalls inside with seating, but your ticket is per entry and you can't reenter to wait (and be warm) unless you buy another ticket. This is great for pictures but this is not a picnic place, you take pics and leave. Staff was friendly, you can only use CASH at the souvenir shop!!!!! It was a worthwhile visit as Japan is not fully open to all countries yet so there was no tourist tour buses. Think 2024 onwards will be waaaaaay more crowded.

An interesting amusement park specialising in motorsports. Good and fun place for kids who loves cars and bikes. Came during Golden Week and there was some kind of vehicle exhibition going on too. I was blessed with very good sunny weather that day. As I came from Tokyo and not staying here in Suzuka, would have purchased the Passport otherwise. Sufficient activities to spend the whole day here. I came just for the Circuit Challenger. Sadly, I just wished the instructions could be clearer and more detailed in order for me to obtain my S Rank for the Electric Test drive. Also take note to check the operating hours of the Circuit Challenger on their websites as it does not operate throughout the day same as the park timings. Some days they only open for 1 hour! I always like to stop by Japanese sweets shops when I travel. On the way back from a stay in Mie Prefecture, I stopped by this Japanese sweets shop. Their buns, made with various ingredients depending on the season, are delicious. You can enjoy the most delicious seasonal treats, such as sakura mochi, myoga mochi, and strawberry daifuku. Prices start from around 120 yen, so they're very cheap, even though they're handmade. There are things that people of all ages can enjoy, such as dango and red rice, which you can make by reservation. The cakes and Western sweets are good, but I felt like supporting a private shop with a calm atmosphere like this. The customer service from the wife was heartwarming, and I want to go back again.
