Getting There - Join a group tour or hire a driver to drive to Sun Moon Lake area from Taichung Attractions - Wen Wu temple which is a huge temple with panoramic views, Cable Car to see Sun Moon Lake from above, Cycling route around Sun Moon Lake to explore on land, Cruise to explore on water with multiple stopping points. If you have time you should also go to Aboriginal village/ theme park. Hotels - Many hotels in the vicinity. Food & Restaurants - Many local restaurants serving local cuisine and aboriginal food in the area. Shopping - There are souvenir shops and streets, such as at cable car station.

Most people go to Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan because it is very beautiful. Going to Sun Moon Lake is also indispensable for the boating (speedboat) water, but what I care most about is the big meal at the Sun Moon Lake Palace. Sun Moon Lake | One of the World's Top 10 Most Beautiful Bike Paths is Right Here at Sun Moon Lake!

The most 'Instagrammable' spot on the Sun Moon Lake loop is right here! The modern architecture of the visitor center, with its sleek concrete design, initially made me think it was an art gallery! The gray exterior and unique spatial design make for great photo opportunities. Here, you'll find a café, shops, exhibitions, and seating areas. It's also the first restaurant since the start of the loop, so if you're hungry, you can grab lunch here. However, the prices are on the higher side. The Sun Moon Lake loop road was selected by CNNGO as one of the world's top 10 most beautiful bike paths, so you definitely have to experience its bike path! Starting from the Xiangshan Visitor Center, you can stay on the bike path all the way to Shuishe without having to get back on the road. While the Yongjie and Tongxin Bridges are the most famous sections, my favorite is the Shuishe Dam. This stretch is a straight road with open views, making the lake feel just within reach. The wooden boardwalk design adds to the leisurely feel of the path. However, note that this section requires you to walk your bike. 📍 Xiangshan Visitor Center / Xiangshan Bike Path You can take the Nantou Bus to the Xiangshan Visitor Center stop, or ride your bike there yourself.

Day Trip at Sun Moon Lake - Bicycle ride round the lake

#100WaysOfTravel After the Cable ride at Sun Moon Lake, we may then proceed to bicycle ride round the Sun Moon Lake. Rented a electric bicycle began our next journey. First stop along the lake was first bridge namely Destined Bridge. That’s where lovers started their love life until the end. Second bridge is Eternal bridge where one couple began to meet up and ended forever lasting. After the bridge we finally reached local convention centre. Due to time limitations, we continued back on to where we started half an hour ago. Overall bicycle was great with breathtaking view and memorable moments.

I visited Sun moon lake in lunar new year 2024. It is one of the most beautiful places in Taiwan to visit. You can go by bus or train from Taipei. Bus no 1833 is the direct connection from Taipei to Sun moon lake. Another bus option is via Puli. Sun Moon Lake This lake is a local gems according to the literature but I find it a little boring to visit by using the hop on hop off boats. Not as nice as Comp Lake, or beautiful as Hakone Ashinoko Lake. The only place where you can find some food to eat is at stop 3, but the choices are very limited. Taiwan needs to improve its food offer if it were to attract more westerner tourists. #wintergetaway

Sun Moon Lake is one of the most famous scenic spots in Taiwan. It is also the second largest lake in Taiwan and the largest natural lake, lying on the hill between Yushan and Alishan. Sun Moon Lake was originally a separate lake. Later, due to power generation needs, the dam was built downstream and the water level rose. The two lakes were integrated. The climate of Sun Moon Lake is pleasant in all seasons. The average temperature in winter is above 15 °C, and in summer it is only around 22 °C in July. It is a summer resort. Borrow a bicycle and slowly ride around the lake. It is one of the best ways to experience Sun Moon Lake. Taiwans Xiangshan Administrative Center is located on the other side of the Hanbi Peninsula on the west side of Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan. The designer here promotes the quiet and mysterious temperament of Sun Moon Lake with the concept of Zen, and places the parking lot under a Zen garden, and walks between the water and the land and the water.
