All Trip Moments about Su-ngai Kolok
The Shrine of Mae To Mo, Sungai Kolok.
Sungai Kolok has religious diversity similar to other provinces. This shrine is quite large and is located right in the middle of the market. Tourists are welcome to visit.
You can set your GPS to get here, but be cautious as the roads are not very wide and there are many motorcycles.
Actually, we came to eat at Bak Mui Restaurant as recommended in reviews, but unfortunately, it was closed.
Su-ngai Kolok Railway Station, Narathiwat Province
#Flying with trip #Su-ngai Kolok #Traveling to Narathiwat #Three southern border provinces
Come to check in at Su-ngai Kolok train station. We have to drive into the district. The traffic is very busy. It is next to the Malaysian border. There are many Malaysian registered cars. There are not many people at the station. It is probably not used much.
From the station, cross the railway. There will be an old train parked for us to go up and look inside. If anyone has a chance, try to stop by and see.
As for safety, it is comfortable. Normally, it is the same as traveling anywhere else. It is just that most people wear Muslim clothes.
♻️Toh Daeng Peat Swamp Forest
#Post for good luck
🧩 Hello, friends of Indy Trip. Today, I would like to invite you to take care of the forest a bit. It's very unconventional with the last forest in the form of a peat swamp called Pru To Daeng Forest. It is located in Narathiwat Province. It is one of the most amazing natural tourist attractions in the southern part of Thailand.
🌼 Pru To Daeng is a wetland with high biodiversity. There are aquatic plants, aquatic animals and many types of birds that are hard to find elsewhere. Tourists who visit will experience the beauty of nature that is still pristine and the rare peace and quiet in everyday life.
🍀 Visiting Pru To Daeng is an experience not to be missed for those who love adventure and want to explore nature. Tourists can walk along the provided trails or choose to take a boat to see the scenery around the swamp. Tourists will see local plants such as the Senna tree and the Krachiao tree, which have beautiful flowers especially during the rainy season. There is also a chance to meet many species of water birds that live in this area.
🌷 In addition to the natural beauty, Pru To Daeng is also a great place for relaxation and outdoor activities such as picnics, taking pictures and making good memories with family or friends. Visiting Pru To Daeng will not only give you happiness and impressions But it also supports nature conservation and sustainable tourism in local communities.

Shrine of Mae To Mo
Originally, Mae To Mo was enshrined in Sukirin District. Later, the villagers invited her to be enshrined in Su-ngai Kolok District. She is highly revered by the people of Su-ngai Kolok and nearby provinces, including the Chinese people in Malaysia.

During the third month of the Chinese lunar month (April), there will be a traditional event at the shrine. There are many activities at the event, such as a procession of the goddess, a lion procession, and a long drum procession.

During the situation, some tables are open. Desserts and drinks are not expensive. There are customers using the service all the time. Parking is available at the shop. My favorite dessert is Honey Toast Charcoal Salted Egg Lava. As for the food, you have to try the Salt Fried Chicken Wings.

Su-ngai Kolok, a southern border trade city. When you come, you must not miss the check-in point of Kolok town, “The Color of Kolok”, a graffiti that creates color and atmosphere for tourism in Su-ngai Kolok district. It is located between the Su-ngai Kolok border checkpoint public park and the Su-ngai Kolok train station, and many other points scattered in Kolok town. In addition to being a border trade city, the graffiti that adds color to Kolok town also has the shrine of Mae To Mo, an important place that is highly respected by the people of Su-ngai Kolok and neighboring provinces, including the Chinese in Malaysia. When you come, you must go to pay homage and ask for blessings. #Holiday #Narathiwat

Train Journey from Su-ngai Kolok to Bangkok
I took the train from Su-ngai Kolok to Bangkok, and it was an unforgettable experience. The journey lasted about 18-20 hours, but it was a great way to see the countryside. I traveled in a second-class sleeper seat, which was comfortable and clean. The views of rice fields, villages, and mountains were stunning.
Food vendors came by selling snacks and meals, and there were plenty of opportunities to stretch my legs during stops. Despite the long ride, the train was safe and relaxing.
Arriving at Hua Lamphong Station in Bangkok felt rewarding after such a scenic journey. It’s a great way to experience a different side of Thailand if you have the time.#familytrip #familytrip #travelbuddy #bangkok #thailandtrip
My Stay at Inter Tower Hotel in Su-ngai Kolok
I recently stayed at Inter Tower Hotel in Su-ngai Kolok, and I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and service it offered. The hotel is located in a central area, making it convenient to access nearby markets, restaurants, and shops.
My room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything I needed — air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and strong Wi-Fi. The bed was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, which made for a relaxing stay.
The hotel staff were friendly, respectful, and always ready to help. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and I appreciated how organized and welcoming the reception team was.
Although Su-ngai Kolok is a small border town and not a major tourist destination, I found it to be full of local charm and culture. Staying at Inter Tower Hotel gave me a great base to explore the area and enjoy authentic local food and hospitality.
The hotel also has a small café area where I could enjoy coffee and light snacks. It’s not a luxury property, but it offers very good value for the price. Cleanliness, safety, and comfort were clearly a priority here.
Overall, my experience at Inter Tower Hotel was positive. It’s a solid option for travelers visiting Su-ngai Kolok, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, clean, and affordable place to stay. I would definitely return in the future.#thailandtrip #familytrip #localguides #deliciousfood

Overall, it's okay, not disappointed. I was going to stay another night, but there was an unrest. So I asked to go back to Hat Yai. If there is a break, I will ask to stay here. And Su-ngai Kolok
Travel south to worship the gods
#Get a discount without relying on luck, "Goddess To Mo" (Goddess Maju or Goddess Thap Thim are the same deity)
It is believed that she is the goddess of the sea. There is a story at the gold mine at Khao To Mo, Sukhirin District, where the villagers first set up a shrine for her in that area. Later, a new shrine was set up for her in Su-ngai Kolok District on January 15, 1952, but the shrine was still named after its original source, Khao To Mo, which has now been changed to Phu Khao Thong Subdistrict. The To Mo Shrine is revered by the people of Su-ngai Kolok and people in neighboring provinces, including the Chinese in Malaysia.
It can be reached from Su-ngai Kolok Railway Station and is not far from the Thai-Malaysian border checkpoint :)
Mundok Central Market
#travellerswonderland
Lot of shops selling kitchen items, clothes, wedding gifts and house decoration items. Selling at a very affordable prices. RM is also widely accepted too. You can take a boat to cross the river stream at rm2 fare from Malaysia side to Mundok Central Market. The journey only took arround 30sec to arrive at the other side of the river. The market is crowded especially during weekend and public holiday.
Venice Palace Hotel

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, good location, convenient travel. There is a motorcycle taxi in front of the hotel. Easy to find food In front of the hotel is opposite a famous Islamic restaurant. There were many people coming to eat all day.

A province at the end of the axe handle of Thailand that many people have never visited, but we were already hooked after our first visit.. This is “Sukirin District, Narathiwat Province”, a land of happiness
This trip happened when we wanted to unlock our fear of carrying a backpack and taking a train alone for more than 22 hours to Su-ngai Kolok, the southernmost point of Thailand, to visit Sukirin District, Narathiwat Province, a place hidden under the unrest in our imagination
like we never thought in reality that the 3 border provinces would have something like this

The last peat swamp forest... To Daeng peat swamp forest, Narathiwat
Peat swamp forest is a deciduous forest that has been piled up with organic matter, both plant and animal remains, for a long time, in layers until it becomes a basin-shaped basin, with water that cannot be drained. It is a source of food for wild animals and a very charming ecosystem. The factors that make a peat swamp forest must have the terrain and climate that are conducive to the formation of peat swamp forests for hundreds of years. Then we will see a complete peat swamp forest ecosystem.
The peat swamp forest with the most complete forest layer system is the peat swamp forest at Ban To Daeng, Su-ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat Province. The To Daeng Peat Swamp Nature Study Trail has a small pond with information signs and beautifully landscaped. There is a terrace, a place to sit and relax and enjoy the view. The entire path is about 1.2 kilometers. There are strange trees to see all along the way. We walked with pleasure. At first, we only intended to stop by to look outside. When we walked in, we found that we liked it very much. I would like to tell everyone that if you have a chance to come to Narathiwat, please stop by. It is our last peat swamp forest.

Street Art Kolok
The Color of Kolok was launched in Su-ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat Province in December 2018 on the walls along the public park in front of the Su-ngai Kolok border checkpoint. #Gifts from the Journey, led by a famous graffiti artist along with fellow Thai and international artists, came to the area to draw street art (graffiti) that combines the atmosphere of the area, reflecting the culture of the southern border, to create a check-in point that creates color and a tourist atmosphere in Su-ngai Kolok District, where everyone comes with their hearts without charging a fee. #VisitNarathiwat, come visit our hometown. There are still many beautiful places.
