A Rainy Season Visit to Air Terjun Lokomboro: Worth It? 🌧️💦

Visiting Air Terjun Lokomboro during the rainy season is an adventure—just maybe not the one I had in mind. Located in West Sumba, this waterfall is known for its clear, cascading water surrounded by lush greenery… except when it’s raining nonstop. Then, it’s more of a loud, muddy torrent where you can’t see much past the mist and water spray. 🌊😂
The journey there was already a challenge—slippery paths, deep puddles, and the constant battle of not losing a shoe in the mud. By the time I got close, the waterfall was roaring, the visibility was low, and the only thing I could truly admire was how thoroughly soaked I was.
That said, there’s something wild and exciting about seeing nature in full force. The sheer power of the waterfall is impressive, and the surrounding forest, drenched in rain, feels alive. Would I recommend coming in the dry season instead? Absolutely. But if you’re up for a muddy, misty adventure, Lokomboro in the rain is an experience you won’t forget. Just bring waterproof everything. ☔😅
