Western Sichuan Trip｜Huanglong is beautiful, Jiuzhaigou is even more beautiful! 🥰😍|| Personally, I feel ❗️❗️ Jiuzhaigou is very beautiful, and Huanglong is not bad either. I saw many people say Huanglong is not as beautiful as Jiuzhaigou, but after going there, I realized there wasn't enough time to appreciate it! 🚗 About the itinerary ❗️ We spent three days and two nights visiting Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. 🕑 24th 🚄 From Chengdu to Zhenjiangguan 🚌 Then take a direct bus from Zhenjiangguan to Jiuzhaigou (book the direct bus on Ctrip, ⚠️ the bus to Jiuzhaigou is harder to get than the one to Siguniang Mountain, so if you get carsick, take some motion sickness medicine) 🏠 As for accommodation, I think they are all similar, just make sure to stay near the entrance of the valley, close to the scenic area. 🕐 25th Touring Jiuzhaigou: There are three valleys, and personally, I think the primitive forest and the valley over there are more beautiful, but a friendly reminder ❗️ you can't finish touring it all, just visit the valleys you want to see, the scenery is pretty similar (⚠️ make sure to arrive half an hour before the park opens, we arrived twenty minutes early and there was already a long queue at the entrance) 🌡️👔 It's cold in the morning and evening, and very hot at noon and in the afternoon, so I just brought a jacket to wear. 🍜 The food in the scenic area is all at the Nuorilang Center, I personally think it's a bit expensive and not very tasty. 🕑 26th 🚗 We bought a direct bus from Jiuzhaigou ➡️ Huanglong ➡️ Zhenjiangguan High-Speed Rail Station on Ctrip. Touring Huanglong time (10:00—14:00), gather at two o'clock to go to the high-speed rail station. 🎫 Remember to buy a sightseeing bus ticket for Huanglong, otherwise, you have to walk up the road to the Five-Color Pond. 👔 Make sure to bring a very thick jacket, Huanglong's altitude is higher than Jiuzhaigou, so it's colder than Jiuzhaigou. If it's cloudy 🌥️ or rainy ☔️, it's especially cold. We checked the weather and it showed sunny, but it was actually cloudy and rainy, so we had to buy thick cloaks at the scenic area entrance for 💰 200 yuan (not worth it at all). 🥰🥰 Compared to Jiuzhaigou, I actually prefer Huanglong, but for photos, Huanglong doesn't produce as good results as Jiuzhaigou ❗️ Jiuzhaigou Food 🍜 Hotpot 🍲: 🍅 Tomato Yak Soup Pot, very delicious, the meat is really a lot and in big chunks, very affordable, about 💰 80 per person. Transportation 🚄: 1. C6376, departs from Chengdu East at 10:30 AM, arriving at Zhenjiangguan Station 🚉. After arriving, there is a free bus 🚌 to Songpan Ancient Town at the station exit, taking about 1-1.5 hours to reach Songpan Ancient Town. 2. Songpan Ancient Town: A small highland town at an altitude of about 2800 meters 🏘️, with a Guanyin Temple said to be around 3000 meters above sea level (I didn't go due to fear of altitude sickness) 🤷‍♀️. Songpan is not big, it takes about 2-3 hours to stroll around, and there is a street that specializes in selling caterpillar fungus (quality unknown, I can't understand) 🤦‍♀️. Yak meat skewers for one yuan each are everywhere, highly recommended! The cost of living is not high either! It's a good stopover to visit before heading to Jiuzhaigou. 3. There are buses from Songpan to Jiuzhaigou, with the last one departing at 18:30, which is the one I took (💰42), taking about 2-2.5 hours to Jiuzhaigou. The driver is very nice and will stop near the hotel location for parking 🅿️. 4. Return trip: Book the bus from Jiuzhaigou to Zhenjiangguan on Ctrip 🍊 for 💰28, with corresponding departure times that connect with the high-speed train schedule. (⚠️It's advised to take the bus early! I took the 1:30 PM bus, and the high-speed train was at 17:40, but there was a two-hour traffic jam due to road construction! Luckily, I got a standby ticket for the 19:15 high-speed train, otherwise, I would have had to take the bus back to Chengdu, which takes 5 hours! Be sure to plan ahead!) Accommodation 🏠: Jianju Hotel (Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area Branch) 💰87/night, 1.3 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou, with convenient nearby amenities! Located on the main road, it's very safe! Free shuttle service included! The hotel is a comfortable and economical choice, only 87 yuan per night, great value for money! Dining 🥢: Norilang Restaurant (the only restaurant inside Jiuzhaigou), I ordered the yak beef noodles 💰30, the meat was a bit scarce 😥. You can also bring your own food, but it's hard to find hot water for instant noodles. (❗️Instant noodles in the scenic area cost 15 yuan each, and that's the only way to get hot water) Attractions ⭐️: The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is shaped like a 'Y', and you queue up to take a shuttle bus into the area (as expected of a 5A scenic spot, the shuttle bus dispatch is very efficient, it only took 12 minutes from queuing to boarding!). The first shuttle bus randomly assigns routes, and I was assigned to the right side. You don't need to worry about not knowing how to visit the major attractions in the scenic area because there are guides on the shuttle buses who will introduce each spot. Just follow the crowd and get off the bus. After finishing the right side, you'll return to Norilang and then transfer to the left side shuttle bus for sightseeing. Jiuzhaigou is truly beautiful, even on a cloudy and rainy day when I visited, it was still gorgeous! Perhaps because it's too close to Jiuzhaigou, many people directly overlook this attraction, so it's relatively less popular and the experience is better. I originally thought that Jiuzhaigou was already very beautiful, until I came to Huanglong, which was originally a place I didn't hold much hope for, but it actually gave me a sense of surprise. The Huanglong in late autumn is really a paradise lost in the world. Tips: 1. It takes about 6 hours to depart from Chengdu, and the road conditions are relatively good, just navigate directly to Huanglong Scenic Area. 2. The water volume is not very large now, but the low mountain area is the autumn color pool, and the high mountain area is the snow color pool. It's nice to experience two seasons in one day. 3. It is recommended to take the cable car up the mountain, and then walk down from the high mountain area, which will be easier. 4. There are usually many shuttle buses departing between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., making it convenient to enter the Huanglong Scenic Area for sightseeing. 3. Self-driving: It is more convenient for tourists who drive by themselves. Driving from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong, National Highway 544 is in good condition. The journey is about 120 kilometers. Along the way, we pass Jiuzhaigou National Forest Park, Minjiangyuan National Wetland Park, and snow mountains. It can be called China’s Scenic Corridor! There are many viewing and parking spots along the way. On this road, you can walk and play for half a day! Things to note 1. The distance from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong Scenic Area is relatively long, generally taking about 3 hours by car. Before going to Huanglong Scenic Area, it is best to understand the traffic conditions in advance and make a detailed itinerary plan. 2. It usually takes about 3-4 hours to visit Huanglong. In addition, if you want to directly enter the scenic area after arriving at Huanglong Scenic Area, you need to set off before 8 a.m. that day. 3. If you cannot make it to Huanglong Scenic Area on the same day or even if you arrive, you do not have enough time to visit the scenic area, it is recommended to stay in Songpan County or Chuanzhusi Town and enter the scenic area early the next morning. Songpan County is about an hour's drive from Huanglong Scenic Area, and Chuanzhusi Town is about 30 minutes' drive from Huanglong. You can also visit Songzhou Ancient City or Chuanzhu Temple. 4. Huanglong Scenic Area has a high altitude and some people have high altitude sickness. It is recommended to bring a portable oxygen bottle.
