The capital of Malta is really one of Europes unknown gems. It is nestled between Tunisia and Sicily in the midlle of the Mediterranean sea. With a perpetual sunny and warm climate it is pleasant to visit anytime of the year, although July and August can be hot and busy. There are lots of fantastic things to see, I recommend starting with St.Johns Cathedral and it's massive plaza. Across the street is the Upper Barrrakka Gardens and the Saluting Battery. Here it is possible to watch and hear the cannons firing out over the Grand Harbor. It is done most days at noon and again at four PM. The CBD proper is full of cafes, restaurants, artisans shops, pottery, clothing found throughout alley ways that lead to secluded plazas. It really is great to explore and experience the city slowly. Walking around the city is not a problem and there are ferries to Vallettas neighborhoods or a super public bus network. I do not recommend renting a car, the parking on Malta is terrible. Just taking the bus or a cab will make the holiday simpler. I can recommend, The Gomerino Hotel it is perfectly located, the staff is super helpful and the rooms are gorgeous! Malta is such a beautiful country! It is just two small islands Malta and Gozo. Valletta the capital city is hundreds of years old and officially became the capital in 1571, so it is kinda old! The rocky islands are located south of Sicily and east of Tunisia in the Mediterranean Sea. One of the most famous and gorgeous hikes is on the southern tip of Malta. It starts just outside of the quaint town of Zurrieq. It begins by hiking into and through Wied Babu (Gorge) and along the southern coast to the Blue Grotto (named because of the massive cathedral like caves and the seas color), then continue past Wied Zurrieq and along the jagged limestone cliffs to Torri tal Hamrija (an old lighthouse). The last section of the trail follows above and beside the sea until Ghar Lapsi and the large parking lot for the TarRita restaurant. The Gothic double spire windows and arches, the Catalan-style porch and columns, and the Muslim-style geometric patterns of the apse are all perfectly integrated. The interior of the church is a Norman-style semicircular hall, which is large and empty. It is the burial place of the Norman royal family. The underground treasure house displays a variety of jewelry, all of which belonged to Queen Costanza di Aragon. After visiting Palermo Cathedral, head to the Italian restaurant La Galleria in the alley behind it. The restaurant serves delicious seafood pasta in large portions that will not disappoint.

Sicily is a lovely beach destination with beaches all around the corner at every little town. These beaches are laid back and accessible but keep in mind some of them are private ones. The water is often crystal clear and the temperature is very nice. A truly Italian summer experience, heading to the beaches on a nice hot day is a relaxing and fun experience. I took a bus from Palermo, Sicily and came to the small town of Alcamo~! This place is famous for its wine production and, as expected from Italy, all the food was delicious~~ It's a smaller city than Palermo, so it's quiet like a village and the ride there was really nice☺️☺️💕 Since I came to Italy, I had to eat pasta and arancini, so I ate arancini with ham and cheese and it was really, really delicious~~!!
