Zhaga Waterfall in Mounigou Valley - Mounigou Valley, located to the west of Songpan Ancient Town, Songpan. Among the most beautiful waterfalls, Zhaga Waterfall feels like the most supernatural one. It is the largest travertine waterfall in China. It is 93.2 meters high and 35 meters wide with an elevation of 3,270 meters. In the upper reaches of the waterfall is a lake and in the lower reaches, is a multistep waterbed. When the waterfall rushes down from the travertine steps, it creates a large spray and an earsplitting sound. Visitors will be astonished by the amazing scene. Exploring the Taoist culture on Qingcheng Mountain is considered as the birthplace of Taoism and one of the most important Taoist centers in China. It can be a long hike up to the top but you pass by beautiful lakes, waterfalls and plenty of nature. For the physically less active there is also a chance to pay for a cable car ride but if you have the ability to walk, I highly recommend it. If you’re looking to escape the city noise and get a little lost in the mountains Tagong is totally worth it.

One of my favorite things was just strolling by the river especially at night when everything lights up. You’ll see locals dancing or playing cards and the food smells coming from the street vendors are amazing. Definitely try the local noodles they’re simple but so good. It’s not packed with tourists like other old towns in China which makes it way more relaxed. If you’re ever in Sichuan and want a low key place with cool history and vibes Langzhong’s 100 percent worth a visit.

First stop was the Zigong Dinosaur Museum and it’s honestly wild how many fossils they’ve got. Real bones, full skeletons, giant dinos just chilling indoors, super fun even if you’re not a dino nerd. Then wandered into the old salt industry museum and learned Zigong was once the salt capital of China. The history’s actually really interesting, and the buildings have that cool old school vibe. At night the whole city lights up with colorful lanterns, especially if you’re around during the lantern festival. Even if not, the streets are still fun to walk with lots of local snacks and shops. Zigong’s not super flashy, but it’s got heart. If you’re into quirky museums, chill strolls, and a side of dinosaurs, this place is totally worth a visit.

Also stopped by Daci Temple which is right in the middle of the city but still quiet once you step inside. The contrast between ancient temples and modern buildings is actually kinda cool. If you want a break from the city noise and a little dose of calm, temple hopping in Chengdu totally hits. Just go with the flow, light some incense, and enjoy the moment.

This place is known for its Hakka culture, and you can really feel it everywhere. Lots of cool old architecture, tea houses, and little temples tucked in between shops. I tried some sticky rice, spicy tofu, and this weird but amazing sweet jelly thing, no regrets at all. There’s also a big lake where people chill, take selfies, or just hang out with their snacks. Super walkable and way less crowded than I expected. Locals were super friendly too, always down to chat or help you find your next bite. If you’re into casual exploring, street food missions, and places with old school charm, Luodai is a solid pick. Come hungry, wear comfy shoes, and just follow the smell of something delicious.
