This Bridge is popular for one who loves ocean drives, but if you do want to take a photo you can head to the Amagase Park before you start crossing the bridge to have a photogenic shot of the long curved bridge over the waters. I assume, the best time to take this shot is at sunset.

Yamaguguchi Prefecture is the western most prefecture of Honshu. This is where you will find the beautifully built Tsunoshima Bridge connecting Honshu and Tsunoshima. At sunset, we stopped at all 4 corners of the bridge ( there are observatory on 3 sides, and the fourth one on the small island is through a narrow path ). The view was absolutely amazing. Within 30 minutes drive south from the bridge, there is also Fukutoku Inari shrine facing the sea, and the two husband and wife rock by the sea. ⚓️ Mojiko is a great place to enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and it's highly recommended to stay overnight. You can take a ferry to Shimonoseki across the water to enjoy seafood. The Karato Market, located at Shimonoseki Port, is usually a wholesale seafood market but opens to tourists on weekends. When we were in Fukuoka, locals recommended us to go to Shimonoseki, where the seafood is both affordable and high-quality, especially famous for its fugu sashimi. . ⚓️ Pictures 4️⃣5️⃣6️⃣7️⃣ are of the old Mojiko Customs House, which has a very special interior decoration. Mojiko is best visited on a clear day, with blue skies, white clouds, and the blue sea, plus the red-brick buildings along the shore, making it a beautiful and relaxing place. . 📌 Transportation: Take the Shinkansen from Hakata Station to Kokura, then transfer to the JR Kagoshima Main Line to Mojiko, which takes about 45 minutes in total. .

Hinoyama Park

#springblossom Blessed with very good weather, the blue sky and Kanmon Strait, tulips, cherry blossoms, it was the best location. There were a lot of people with their dogs 🐕 I was taking pictures. Despite the weekdays, I waited for 30 minutes for many cars to enter the parking lot. But it was worth the wait☺️A nice little park atop Hinoyama. There is a small gift shop, viewing platform and eating area at the top also. There is a cable car line up to the top, but in all my visits I never used it. The view from the top of the mountain is pretty spectacular. You can take in the whole of the Kanmon strait, looking across to Kyushu. You also get great views towards Shimonoseki city and Korea (though obviously Korea isn't visible). There is also what I assume to be an old artillery fort with old bunkers and gun emplacements that you can explore. Quite creepy at night.

Besides its scenic beauty, the Tsunoshima Bridge was also designed with a gentle heart in mind. The reason for its curvature and shape is to consider the surrounding natural environment, thus limiting the height of the bridge and deliberately bypassing the middle island of Hatomajima. ✅ Around the island to the southwest is the Tsunoshima Lighthouse Park. This first Western-style lighthouse on the Sea of Japan side was designed by the 'Father of Japanese Lighthouses,' British architect Richard Henry Brunton, and was built in 1876. For over a hundred years, it has illuminated the sea every night. The spiral staircase is steep and long, and climbing to the top of the lighthouse offers a panoramic view of Tsunoshima's landscape and the azure sea. Tsunojima Bridge

The photogenic Tsunojima Bridge stretches over the beautiful sea. It was a sunny day, so the contrast between the blue of the sea, the white of the road, and the green of the island was beautiful, making it a perfect photo spot! The bridge can be crossed for free, so I drove back and forth several times while enjoying the beautiful sea. There are parks on both sides of the bridge, which I recommend as photography spots. There are various tourist spots on Tsunojima, so when you visit Yamaguchi, be sure to cross the Tsunojima Bridge and explore Tsunojima. The bridge is also suitable for cycling, and there were rental bicycles available, so try it out on a nice day.

The former British Consulate in Shimonoseki

The building, which was built in 1906 and is a nationally designated important cultural property, is the oldest existing consulate building. Admission is free. Although it is small, there is a consular room with a fireplace and souvenirs for sale. The second floor is a tea house where you can enjoy tea and snacks . There are so many Petter Rabbits inside which are so cute. The ambiance is really relaxing. The central pond is surrounded by several historical buildings. A variety of flowers are planted in the garden and provide seasonal views through the year.🤩 This strolling garden is good for visiting where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the garden. There wasn't much people in the park when I went and could freely walk and take photos around. Highlights: Hinoyama Park is a park at the top of Mount Hinoyama, overlooking the Kanmon Strait. A ropeway leads from near the Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel entrance to the mountain-top park where an observation deck allows visitors to enjoy panoramic views of Shimonoseki and Moji across the strait as well as of the nearby mountain ranges. Those visiting by car can also drive up the mountain. Akama Shrine

Address: 4-1 Amidaijicho, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi 750-0003, Japan. Getting there: The Akama Shrine is just opposite the Akamajingumae bus station. Highlights: Akama Shrine is a Shinto shrine overlooking the Kanmon Strait. It is dedicated to the spirit of child Emperor Antoku who perished in the 12th century Battle of Dannoura, which took place not far from the shrine. At the entrance of the shrine stands the prominent Suitenmon gate which carries a vermilion roof on top of a white arch foundation. Even those it's in the middle of an important and busy street, it feels completely isolated and very calm. Highlights: The Kaikyo Yume Tower is a 153 meter tall tower a ten minute walk from Shimonoseki Station. The observatory on the top floor stands at 143 meters and provides panoramic views of the surroundings. The tower is also illuminated in the evenings. 🤩 This is so awesome place to visit. It is the tallest building in West Japan. The night view is so beautiful from the top of the tower. There is a corner where couples can tie love lock.
