#tripaway Butrint is strategically located in the eastern part of the Strait of Corfu in the extreme south of the country. #tripaway Cape Merli is a private beach in the south of Albania. A fairytale vacation spot, otherwise known as the "European Maldives".
The beach in the south of Saranda is not much explored by tourists, because a private villa complex is being built there. The white sand, the crystal clear sea and the steepness of the rocks with the stairs that lead to the sea after descending from the villas make Cape Merli very special.
This magical place has been given the name of "Cape Merli" or Cape of the Black Bird, as centuries ago in this area among the bushes lived bird colonies. These dense moss bushes that dominated the earth were also referred to as the mythical plants of Aphrodite, which were considered a symbol of well-being and beauty. The locals have called the place ‘Cape of the Black Bird’.
The ecological approach to the architecture used for the tourism project has made it possible to build a natural value system that will be implemented with human care, encouraging the Thrush to return once again. Respect for nature remains the ultimate guide to the concept of architecture.
The project covers a large area and is divided into two areas respectively:
Northern Peninsula
This area is characterized by hotels and villas on the south side. The hotel will be five-star and will have 207 rooms, 3 luxury suites, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, conference rooms, SPA & Wellness Center. While in this part will be built a seaport for yachts with (10 parking lots), 16 Marine type villas and 4 luxury villas, each with pool.
Southern Peninsula
In this area will dominate the family rooms mainly a family hotel and villas which will have an extension on the east side. The hotel will have 250 rooms, suites, bars, restaurants, an amphitheater, conference rooms, SPA & Wellness Center, 2 yacht ports (with more than 90 parking spaces) as well as 33 Mediterranean type Villas, each with swimming pool.

Port of Saranda.
Saranda is a city on the Ionian coast in southern Albania, with a Mediterranean climate. It is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Albania. In addition to the blue sea and sky, the area also has some world-famous historical sites. This is just the view of the port.
In addition, this is also the port to Corfu, a famous Greek island. There are several jet boats (Figure 9) every day.
I wanted to try sea urchin, but it was unexpectedly far from Japan. The oysters were okay.

Honeymoon Travel City - Sarandë
Sarandë is located in the southern coastal region of 🇦🇱, with a pleasant climate and a rich variety of plants. It is an important health resort and vacation destination. Ksamil Beach is also a favorite honeymoon travel city for many newlyweds due to its beautiful and charming Ksamil Beach, and tourism has seen tremendous development in recent years. About ten kilometers from Sarandë is the 'Butrint National Park' 🏞️, which borders Greece. It is located on a peninsula between the Corfu Strait and Lake Butrint and is 🇦🇱's first World Heritage site. It has been inhabited since prehistoric times and has successively been a Greek colony, a Roman city, and the seat of a bishopric. It was very prosperous during the Byzantine period, was briefly occupied by the Venetians, and was abandoned when the area turned into a swamp in the late Middle Ages. The existing archaeological sites showcase the features of various periods in the city's development, including the ancient Greek theater, baptistery, and cathedral. Walking among the wild grasses and ruins, it seems as if one can see the entire course of Mediterranean civilization. The stones of Butrint are silent storytellers!

Butrint National Park.
During my trip to Butrint National Park in Albania, I immersed myself in the beauty of the wild nature and the rich history that surrounds the area. I wandered among the ruins of ancient cities and beautiful Roman and Greek temples that constitute part of humanity's heritage.
I truly enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife that inhabit the nature reserve around the region. I was deeply impressed by the tranquility and stillness that filled the atmosphere, and I contemplated the beauty of the Adriatic Sea overlooking the garden. Visiting Butrint Park was a wonderful and impressive experience, leaving me with unforgettable memories and a deep connection with nature and history.
The ancient theatre of Butrint
#hiddengems
The ancient theatre of Butrint, nestled within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Butrint National Park, is a testament to the grandeur of classical civilization. Dating back to the 4th century BC, this Hellenistic marvel is one of the finest examples of ancient theater architecture in Albania.
Carved into the natural slope of the hillside, the theatre once accommodated up to 1,500 spectators who gathered to witness dramatic performances, musical concerts, and civic events. Its semi-circular design and excellent acoustics ensured that every word spoken on stage resonated throughout the auditorium, captivating audiences with tales of gods, heroes, and everyday life.
Today, visitors can marvel at the well-preserved remains of the theatre, imagining the echoes of applause that once filled its stone walls. Surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the tranquil waters of the Vivari Channel, the Butrint theatre remains a timeless symbol of artistic expression and cultural heritage.
Exploring History Amidst Nature
#2024wish
Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of the last stretch of Albania, just before the embrace of Greece, lies the enchanting Butrint Archaeological Park. My journey through this historical haven left an indelible mark, combining the beauty of nature with the echoes of centuries past.
As I wandered through the park, I marveled at the harmonious coexistence of historical ruins from various epochs, each telling a unique tale of the ancient civilizations that once thrived here. The setting, surrounded by lush greenery, added a serene backdrop to the remnants of times gone by, creating a magical atmosphere that transported me through the ages.
Some of the ruins were partially veiled by the encroaching foliage, giving the site an air of mystery and adventure. It felt as though I was uncovering hidden treasures as I explored the pathways that led me deeper into the heart of this archaeological gem.
The climax of this historical journey was the Butrint Museum, housed in a small castle that seemed frozen in time. Inside, artifacts and exhibits illuminated the rich history of Butrint, providing a tangible connection to the ancient stories told by the surrounding ruins. The museum served as a fitting conclusion to a day filled with exploration and discovery.
As I reflect on this captivating experience, my mind drifts to future travels. In 2024, my wish is a new adventure – a trip to Phuket.

Albanian riviera - exotic destination
Went to Albania a week ago. From Corfu airport to the port of Corfu, a short travel by taxi.
Fast boat to Albanian riviera (it takes 30 minutes).
After arriving in Saranda, a quick and easy check in, a complementary drink and we are good to go and explore .
Butrint national Park was amazing. The Romans then the Greeks. The lake makes it magic.
The guide is so good, that we did not want to leave.
