#SummerTravel One day, I saw the image of Suseonsa Temple in Sancheong in a KTX magazine, and I had long wanted to visit there. I finally visited on the clearest day and the season when I thought Suseonsa Temple was the prettiest. The image of Suseonsa Temple that I had only seen in pictures was more beautiful and comforting than I thought, and the gentle breeze blowing through the garden that he had personally tended for 25 years was enough to provide us with a rest from the scorching sun. Sitting in the cafe of Suseonsa Temple overlooking Suseonsa Temple, drinking shaved ice and a cup of tea while listening to the sound of the bell swaying in the wind, my mind became peaceful and I felt like I had finally rested for the first time in a long time. Suseonsa Temple is also a famous hydrangea restaurant in Sancheong, so I am looking forward to the hydrangeas and lotus flowers in the garden that will bloom soon. Many would think that traditional herbs and medicines is used to cure disease and to be taken via liquid, but little do they know that herbs can be used in delicacies as well. This shop located within the village of Dongeuibogam serves hotpot with soup stock made of traditional herbs and mushrooms. It was so fresh and tasty that one could feel refreshed after savouring it. The taste of various mushrooms literally tickles the taste buds and with the beef added in, it further enhances the taste of the soup. Jirisan National Park's Autumn Leaves ♥ This is Jirisan that I visited in mid-October 2022. Overall, there are still many green areas, but the autumn leaves are starting to change color!! I didn't know there was a place like this, but the inside of Donguibogamchon is really big and it's newly built so there aren't many people, which was nice. The walk is peaceful, trees everywhere, birds doing their thing, and barely any noise except for the crunch of gravel under your feet. It's not super touristy, so you really feel like you're discovering a hidden piece of Korea. About halfway through, I stumbled onto Susinsa, this small but stunning temple tucked into the hills. Not flashy, just humble and quietly beautiful. The kind of place that makes you want to sit down and do absolutely nothing, just breathe. Bonus points for the super photogenic rock formations along the trail. Honestly, it felt like nature therapy. Not too challenging, but enough uphill to get your blood flowing. If you're into peaceful walks, random temples, and nature being awesome, this is your vibe. Bring snacks, good shoes, and no rush, this one’s all about slowing down.

It’s one of those places where you just wanna sit, sip something warm, and pretend you're in a K-drama. There’s a cozy little rest area with snacks, local goods, and super clean bathrooms (yes, I notice these things). I grabbed a hot drink and wandered around the nearby trails, nothing too intense, just enough to feel like I earned that snack after. Plus, the fresh air? Chef’s kiss. It’s not super touristy either, which makes it feel like a hidden gem. Kinda peaceful, kinda magical. If you’re driving through Hamyang or near Jirisan, make this your stretch-your-legs stop. Trust me, it’s way better than a gas station. Would 100% come back with a picnic basket and a book next time.

It’s basically a never-ending uphill grind, and just when you think you’re close to the top… surprise! You’re not. But wow, when you finally crawl your way up to the peak, it’s magic. The views are unreal. Clouds floating below, ridgelines stretching forever, and that big peak marker just daring you not to take 50 photos with it. Felt like I was on top of Korea (which… I guess I was). The air hits different up there too. Cold, clean, and kinda spiritual if you're into that. I saw a few people doing mini bows at the top, and I get it, it feels sacred. Or maybe they were just grateful to be alive. Anyway, bring snacks, stretch beforehand, and mentally prepare. Cheonwangbong doesn’t play around, but it’s 1000% worth every step, sweat drop, and silent internal scream.

You’re not just hiking, you’re basically ascending into the clouds like some mountain monk-in-training. The trail? A bit of a butt-kicker depending on where you start (I went from Jungsanri, spicy choice). But it’s got everything: stone steps that never end, misty forest scenes that look like a Ghibli film, and views that honestly don’t feel real once you finally summit. At the top, it’s windy, cold, and totally magical. You feel tiny in the best way. That “I made it” moment? Chef’s kiss. Bring layers, snacks, and a solid playlist, or maybe just soak up the sounds of wind and your own dramatic breathing. Hard? Yes. Regret it? Not for a second. Cheonwangbong hits different. Like, sore legs + soul cleanse combo deal. 12/10 would summit again (after a nap).
