2024 San Sa Ho Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)
Trip to Sapa, Vietnam 🇻🇳
Having been to Sapa before, we were excited to return and delve deeper into its natural beauty and cultural treasures. This second trip enabled us to discover some lesser-known yet equally stunning spots that we highly recommend to anyone visiting.
We started our day at O Quy Ho Pass, also known as Heaven’s Gate, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range. As the sun rose, the mist slowly lifted, revealing layers of mountains bathed in golden light. This spot is perfect for dramatic landscape photography 📸 I’d recommend arriving by 5:30 AM ⛅️ to catch the sunrise.
📍Highway 4D, O Quy Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
After sunrise, we visited Ta Phin Village, home to the Red Dao ethnic minority. We explored the traditional stilt houses, lush rice terraces, and the Ta Phin Monastery ruins. The vibrant red costumes of the locals provided beautiful contrasts in our photos 📸 Around 8 AM–10 AM is the best time to visit when the light highlights the details of the rice fields and village life.
📍Ta Phin Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
Mid-morning, we returned to Cat Cat Village, a charming village known for its cascading waterfalls and traditional Black Hmong culture. We trekked along the scenic pathways and captured stunning photos of locals weaving textiles, as well as the picturesque Cat Cat Waterfall. Arrive around 10:30 AM to avoid crowds and enjoy great lighting for portraits 📸
📍Cat Cat Village, San Sa Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
We also headed to Topas Ecolodge, a luxurious retreat perched on a hill with 360-degree views of the surrounding rice terraces. The serene ambiance and infinity pool overlooking the mountains made it one of the most photogenic spots on our trip. I’d recommend trying their Vietnamese set menu while soaking in the view.
📍Thanh Kim Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
We also explored the Silver Waterfall, where the cascading water glistens in the sunlight. We hiked up to the viewing platform for sweeping views of the waterfall and the lush forest below. Arriving at 3 PM gave us soft and golden light, which added a magical touch to our photos 📸
📍Highway 4D, San Sa Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
To end our day, we took the cable car 🚠 to Fansipan Peak, the highest mountain ⛰️ in Indochina. Watching the sunset from the summit was an unforgettable experience, with clouds rolling over the peaks and the sky painted in hues of orange and pink. This is a must-visit for landscape and panoramic shots 📸 Arrive by 4:30 PM to catch the golden hour and sunset at 5:30 PM.
📍Fansipan Legend Cable Car Station, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
This second trip to Sapa was even more magical than our first. We explored new places, deepened our connection with the local culture, and captured some of our most memorable photos 😍

Experiencing Cat Cat Village- wearing the traditional costume
#travelanywhere Wandering through the charming Cat Cat Village, I embraced the vibrant culture by donning a traditional costume. Nestled in the picturesque hills of Vietnam, this village offers a glimpse into the rich heritage of the Hmong people. The intricate patterns and vivid colors of my attire made me feel deeply connected to the local traditions. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and warm-hearted villagers, my visit to Cat Cat Village was a journey back in time, celebrating the beauty and simplicity of life in the highlands. This moment captured the essence of cultural immersion and timeless beauty.#vietnam #travel
Hiking in Sapa During Winter
As I stepped foot in the enchanting town of Sapa during the tail end of winter season, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape that surrounded me. The rice terraces were blanketed in thick fog, making the area look mystical.
Eager to explore this landscape, my friends and I decided to hire a hiking guide to navigate the trails. Our guide was a local Hmong lady with an infectious passion for the mountains. With her guidance, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure through the slippery rice terraces and valleys.
Every step we took revealed breathtaking vistas of jagged mountains piercing through the clouds. Our guide shared stories of her childhood and job, offering glimpses into the rich cultural heritage of the ethnic minority tribes inhabiting the region. She also had lunch with us, at a restaurant in her village. The food was simple, but delicious.
Hiking in Sapa during winter was a true test of endurance, but the rewards were immeasurable. The solitude and serenity found in nature, combined with the companionship of our guide and fellow trekkers, made this an unforgettable experience.

Vinpearl Land, an amusement park + water park + aquarium in Nha Trang!

Vinpearl Land, an amusement park in Nha Trang
I always recommend you to go there because it was really great
The reason is because it's an amusement park that doesn't exist in Korea! It's an amusement park + water park + aquarium all in one place ~~! You can play in the water at the water park, ride the roller coaster, and even the aquarium..!
I definitely recommend it to families with babies, but it's also a big amusement park for couples, and it's really fun all day long
I came for two days because it was bigger and better than I thoughtㅋㅋ

A Glimpse into Amazing culture
Th
Overall, Sapa Catcat village offers a unique and enriching experience for those seeking to connect with authentic culture and natural beauty. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.
Sapa cat cat village
I made my way to cat cat village while I was traveling in Vietnam sapa previously. There is an entrance fee required to enter and thereafter you can explore this cool village all on your own. Don’t need any tour guides it’s just a simple one way down. You’ll get to see the nice pretty waterfalls and their people here dressed up in the traditional costume. Overall it’s quite a fun and nice place to be at. And I will recommend visiting if you are in sapa Vietnam.
#catcatvillage A beautiful traditional village that you must visit if you’re in Sapa. Do note that there is an entrance fee and there are a lot of uphills, downhills and steps that might be exhausting but it’s a beautiful village. Best to visit in spring, autumn and summer as it wouldn’t be so cold and muddy...The main attraction was the waterfall and the bridge area. Yes it was beautiful but Cat Cat Village is more to market than the village itself. You can’t really see and feel the culture because it is just full of shops and it's just walk trip market..But it has beautiful scenery and products here are very good quality and handmade and we even bought beautiful bags for my in Law.
Stairway down to cat cat village
#thingstodo
I arrived to cat cat village sapa by walking from my hotel entrance to here. Took me about 20 minutes. Then I paid for the entrance fee and was greeted with lots of stairs down. Over here the first thing you see is a super good view! And then you can pay to take photos at some of their photo spots but mostly to enjoy the nice view all around. Looking at the plantations and all. Lots of locals here. Recommend to just take a short nice stroll and enjoy.
