Wat Chulamani, originally called Wat Mae Chao Thip, was built during the reign of King Prasat Thong. It is believed that it was built between 2172–2190. The headman of Pak Ngam Subdistrict (now Bang Chang Subdistrict) invited Phra Ajarn Chaem Solos, a junior monk residing at Wat Bang Kaphom, to govern the temple and make it prosperous. During Luang Pho Chaem's time He initiated the construction of the monks' residence and the Sala Karn Parian until it was completed in 1920. After that, Phra Nueng Kowito appointed him to be the next abbot, who later became Phra Khru Kowit Samutkhun (Nueng Kowito). On May 23, 1967, Luang Pho Nueng built a new Ubosot to replace the old one that had deteriorated.
