The Ionian Emerald Resort hotel in Sami is lovely. The hotel is stunning, the pools are clean and a perfect temperature for the summer months. The bar and restaurant serve food all day and are reasonably priced and in line with non hotel bars and restaurants. The hotel hosts a modern air conditioned gym with a good range or cardio and weight equipment. The rooms were spacious and met the needs of couples and families. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel is on the beach front and a short walk along the promenade to the main town of Sami.#familytrip #summerresorts

Deep down in the Drogarati Cave

Another nice place to visit. Cost is around €6 per adult. We were there for about 20 minutes. Lovely and cool under ground looking at the formations. There is a very stew set of steps to climb down and up to access the caves which can be slippery. There is a nice cafe and shop on site with plenty of free parking. On the day we visited there were no queues and we walked straight down to the cave after buying our ticket

Magical Melissani Cave Lake

The Melissani cave lake was definitely worth a visit. The queues are longest between 11:30-2 when they are at their best. We waited about 45 minutes to visit the cave. The trip last around 10 minutes. The little wooden boats hold about 10 people. The guides like to be paid a tip in Euros.

Stunning seas and scenery in Sami

Getting There Sami is easy to get to if you have a hire car or transport from any part of the island. Attractions A traditional but large Greek town with plenty of shops, restaurants and space on the pebble beach. You can hire small speed boats without the need for a boat licence or take an organised trip. Hotels Several hotels and apartments in the area a short walk from the main town centre. Food & Restaurants A good variety of restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours. There is an option for everyone. Shopping Small independent shops offering a range of different products and items.

Adventure at the Melissani Cave
