Sai Yok Noi Waterfall is very beautiful with a lot of water flowing during this rainy season. The water is perfect for swimming, very cold and refreshing.💦🌊📍This is one of the most popular check-in spots right now. The hottest spot is the staircase where the waterfall flows through, which is very beautiful. The path up is easy to walk and not slippery at all. If you come early on a weekday, there aren't many people. Free admission‼️ Opens at 8:30 AM. This is another place I highly recommend visiting during the rainy season. It's not far from Bangkok and is easy to get to.

Located in Kanchanaburi, Thailand's largest province, is the site of Mueang Sing historical park. Getting There - it's best to drive there since it is located in the countryside around a 25 minute drive from Kanchanaburi city. However, there is a rural railway station nearby. Attractions - The main attraction of the site is the two temples, dating back over 1000 years. It is rare to find such old historical sites in Thailand. Food & Restaurants - There are some cafe's located on site and there are more shops currently under construction. Facilities - There is ample parking on site and a clean public toilet. My personal review of the historical park is that it is what every tourist imagines when travelling to South East Asia. The temple ruins are located in a jungle area and have become overgrown with trees which plays up to the imagery often depicted in western tv and film. The site is not busy and you have a lot of freedom to walk around and explore and take photographs with very few people in the background. Interesting to spend a day here. A replay of Thai in the olden days. Good effort to make it very real with people and animals (cows) living here. You can exchange at a rate of 1:5 obtain the ancient coins for the purchase of food within the park. Unused coins can be exchanged back to cash at the entrance/ exit. Lots of good photography opportunities. Here you can learn about Thai lifestyle of the earlier days via the Old building structures here. Schools also arrange tour groups here to study the culture, this is one reason why the Thais are so traditional and they follow closely to their culture. Very beautiful place. Tham Krasae, part of the Death Railway from Thailand to Myanmar, is a historical site with a railway and scenic photo spots. There is parking available, and as you walk along the path, there are vendors on both sides. When you reach the curved railway by the River Kwai, the view is stunning. Following the railway tracks, there is a separate path leading to Tham Krasae Cave, where an ancient and sacred Buddha statue is enshrined. Walking along the railway over the River Kwai requires caution as it is a thrilling spot, but it offers beautiful views of Kanchanaburi.

Sometimes it's the little things that matters when it comes to hotels, especially luxury hotels. The architecture and design is spectacular, but there's a lot of ware and tear. The in-room water decoration and jacuzzi system had residues developing on them showing inconsistent cleaning. The staff seriously needs more training, they are well intentioned but clearly not well trained. We were told that dining in room is fine, then told by the restaurant staff that they want us to only dine in the dining hall, which was really loud. Then there's the spa, which had a really skilled masseuse but the routine is what you can get in any massage parlour outside a five star hotel. We were shoved into a room changing room that had no door, and weren't informed where things were. It's new year and we didn't want to raise issues, but they can't seriously expect brand trust and value for money feeling out of services like this. #travel #familytravel #poolhotel

Visiting the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre was truly a memorable experience for me. In my opinion, it’s one of the best-maintained private museums in Thailand. I can feel the thought and care that went into preserving the history here. The exhibits are so well-curated, with personal stories, artifacts, and audio guides that help us connect with the hardships endured during the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway in WWII. It’s powerful and humbling—meaningful without being overwhelming. The memorial walking trail is another highlight. It takes us through Hellfire Pass itself, where we can physically feel the weight of history as we walk the same path where so many labored under unimaginable conditions. The trail is well-maintained, not too strenuous, and surrounded by lush greenery. It’s like dipping into nature, with peaceful views all around. Even as an adult, I found the trail intriguing—there’s a sense of discovery at every turn. What to Know Before Going: 💸Admission is free – It’s incredible that such a beautifully maintained place welcomes everyone at no charge. 👟Wear comfy shoes – The trail is manageable, but the weather is warm and humid. This historical park is one of Thailand's historical parks, under the care of the Fine Arts Department, Ministry of Culture. It is located on the northern bank of the Khwae Noi River in Sing Subdistrict, Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province, surrounded by long mountain ranges. Originally, this castle was mentioned in the inscription of Prasat Phra Khan as Sri Chai Singha Pura. The city layout is rectangular, with city walls built of laterite, approximately 800 meters wide, referring to the width of the city, about 850 meters long, and the walls are 7 meters high. There are four entrance gates, surrounded by a moat and earthen embankment. Inside the city, there are six ponds.
