Trip to Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮
It was a winter trip to Finland with friends and we just love it. As soon as we reached Helsinki airport, we checked visited Market Square for our lunch. Most of the food that we've ordered were good especially salmon and caviar!
We then visited the most famous Helsinki Catheral. It is a distinctive landmark in the Helsinki city. They opened from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday. We reached there around 2pm and it was kinda packed with tourist. We checked with the lady working there and was told that early morning around 9am would have lesser people. If you are here for good pictures, you may take this into consideration.

On the second day, we visited Rovaniemi, a city in Finland. The city was stunning 😍 We checked in to Lapland Hotel Ounasvaara Chalets. We then visited Ounasvaara Ski Centre. My friends doesn't really know how to ski, so we booked 90 minutes personal trainer and it costed her around €110. The view around the area was just so amazing and I would really recommend you to visit. This is my most favourite place to visit in Finland

On the third day, we visited Santa Claus Village. It is free to visit and we were able to take some good pictures with the Santa Claus and feel the Christmas vibes ❄️🎄🧑🎄 We also went for Husky Rides. The distance was about 2km and it costs around €45. I was an unforgettable experience and the view down the path was amazing. The whole journey was “fast and furious” 🤣. We also tried Reindeer Sleigh Ride. The distance was about 1km and it costs around €30. I personally like Husky rides better 🥰🥰 But if you have sufficient time, definitely you should try both ‼️

Lastly, we took snowmobile to see the aurora. Due to weather conditions, we were not able to see any. But the experience was really good. Will definitely come back again for the aurora 🥰

Took a night train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. The night train cabin bed is comfortable and clean.
All the shops in Santa Claus Village only open at 10am.
I was there at 8am plus, no soul and still dark.
I found Nova Skyland hotel to keep myself warm. Advice to stay in the village in winter, which is more convenient and easy to access and it is near the airport.
Salmon place for lunch, simple and tastes fresh and good.

We are so excited to cross the Arctic Circle inside the building and outside. The place was full of activities, which included reindeer ride, shopping, passport stamping, posting of cards with special stamps plus a photo with Santa Claus.

This is Santa's Official Home Airport. It's a small Airport mainly for arctic tourism.
Small clean airport with all necessities. Santa claus roules... 😊 Quite well designed internally with a simple flow to board.
The airport is located around 15 minutes from Rovaniemi town. There is an airport shuttle and a public bus going to the town. Nice view there.

Great visit! If you want to have an experience with husky dogs it's a very good place. They take care of the dogs, they seems happy and very friendly and the staff was very cordial. It was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. We had great time. We chose for longer distance for 10km, really amazing experience. Definitely worth doing!!!

During winter time and Christmas season, Rovaniemi is become the most visit for tourist, although the city it self is a small city in Lapland, with population around 65,000.
Rovaniemi is also become the base for tourist to visit the attraction around Lapland, same like what I did. If you are visiting Santa Clause village, reindeer ride and Snowmobile ride, mostly people use Rovaniemi as the base to stay.
The northern light also can be seen from the city area, however usually it was only during the powerful solar storms.
Rovaniemi prominent landmarks are the Jatkankynttila bridge, Arktikum Science Museum, and the Rovaniemi City Hall.

Artic City Hotel @Rovaniemi, Finland
I spent my first three nights in Artic City Hotel in Rovaniemi for my Finland trip. The location of this hotel is very strategic, in the city center.
Surrounding by malls and shopping centers, pubs and restaurants, supermarket, Asian groceries shop, Asian restaurants, and Mac Donald's. So, it is easy for me to get my local sim card and some alcohol from here.
The lobby hotel is very comfy and pleasant; there are two big lounges in the lobby area with free fresh cool water. The room I got is pretty basic and small. I love the breakfast here, the selection is very nice, from toast bread to bakery, fresh yogurt, and fresh fruit. Breakfast absolutely great.

Reindeer Sleigh Ride @Lapland
The reindeer sleigh ride is a popular activity during wintertime in Lapland; it is an activity suit everyone, it is available during the winter, usually starting around November and ending around April.
Compared to my previous review of the Snowmobile and Husky ride, the reindeer sleigh ride is the easiest one.
The reindeer has been trained to walk and pull the sleigh on the back; the sleigh can accommodate two people. The reindeer will walk in a group of few reindeers and follow the path journey in the arctic national park. The coach or the trainer will walk in front while the raindeers follow behind.
The reindeer ride will end at the reindeer farm, where we can interact with the reindeer by feeding them and photo taking with them reindeers.

Rovaniemi Airport @Finland
Rovaniemi Airport is a small airport, about 10 km north of Rovaniemi city centre, however this airport is the third busiest airport in Finland.
During winter season, this airport become the busiest airport in Finland, because Rovaniemi airport is the main access to Lapland region, and it's the peak season during winter time.
There are eleven destination from 7 countries fly in and out directly from this airport. My flight was fly from Istanbul directly to Rovaniemi airport. Upon I landed in this airport, There are flights from London, Canada and Eastern Europe also reached this airport.
Although is busiest airport, the ambience in here is simple and less fancy. Basic amenities such as cafe and restaurant are availble, plus free wifi.
