Rottnest Island! Parakeet Bay! 📸😎
Getting There - Ferry from Fremantle to Rottnest and Hike all the way (35$ and up each bike for a whole day)
Attractions - A lot of salt lakes, bays and quokka selfie
Hotels - a few inns available
Food & Restaurants - a lot at the main front
It was a blast to begin the new year!
#wandering #2023TravelWish #summervacation #seawander #iphonepohotography #rottnestisland
Salt Lake || Herschel Lake 😎🤩
One of the 12 salt lakes in rottnest 😊😍
Interesting fact: These lakes are four times saltier than the sea😲
Plants like beaded samphire, coastal bonefruit, grey saltbush, and coastal pigface all exist close to the lakes’ edges. Be sure to stay on the marked trails, though, to make sure you don’t trample the delicate, thousand-year-old microbialites that grow on the shores.
It creates a unique wetland habitat, crisscrossed with walking trails, that’s ripe for quiet exploration and reflection.

The second lighthouse! Not the first!😂
There are two lighthouse in rottnest island, one at the center (wadjemup lighthouse) and the other near the main port just before the pinky beach (not the pink lake).
2-3 min by bike from the main front of the island.
#rottnestisland #lighthouse
Pinky Beach! 2nd LightHouse📸😎
Rottnest Island 2nd Trip🤩
I had fun! You will have, too! 💞 This is PINKY BEACH, Rottnest Island, don’t confuse with the PINK LAKE… that’s another beach with (sometime) pinky-ish color depending on your angle and time of day.
Tips!
1. Get the earliest trip to get a quiet morning stroll at the forefront, lovely breakfast if you haven’t already
2. If possible, include the bike in your ticket (saves you trouble, i’m telling you!) we waisted a good 2hours and wasn’t even able to get the proper size for our height😩😝)
3. Stroll around first don’t waste ypur time for a lot of clicks but if you can squeeze 2-3min do it.
4. Plan so you know where to go unless you’re a GREAT Adventurer who likes to get lost and have fun
5. A lot of bays and beaches around to be lost in - don’t focus too much on ONE
6. If planning on going back don’t explore the island in one go 😉
check my moments for more!
-don’t forget to like and tell me what you think☺️

Staying at Rottenest Discovery Hotel 🇦🇺
#bucketlistreboot if you're looking to treat yourself to a relaxation trip you have to book this honey moon suite at rottenest discovery hotel.
The honeymoon suite comes with a gorgeous bathroom, a kitchenette with everything you need, a walk in closet, a spacious deck with sitting area to watch the sunset & a bbq pit to cook. Its an understatement to say the bed is comfy because it's literally one of the best one i have laid in. A little problem we had was the seagulls does circle around your balcony if you're cooking around sunset time, but once the sunset its all good!
They offer different rooms for different budget so if the honeymoon suite is too much, they have other rooms available too!
Overall a great experience and stay, would definitely go back to treat ourself again 😍

Or you can ditch cycling & go with the tram that circles the island too! 😉
Meet the tiny little Quokkas here!

Rottnest Island, Western Australia

Rottnest Island is a short ferry ride from Perth and is best known for its adorable quokkas, small marsupials famous for their "smiles." The island is car-free, so visitors can explore by bike or on foot. Pristine beaches, snorkeling spots, and crystal-clear waters make it a haven for outdoor activities. Its relaxed atmosphere and unique wildlife make it unforgettable.
Rottness Island - Windswept Beauty and Unforgettable Encounters
#voyagevibes
They say the most beautiful destinations come with a price, and Rottnest Island proved no exception. This paradise, renowned for its breathtaking coastline and turquoise waters, greeted me with winds that roared at 40 km/h. As I stepped foot on the island, I found myself at the mercy of nature’s whims—hair flying in every direction, the gusts playing a relentless tug-of-war. But even the wildest winds couldn’t overshadow the island’s stunning beauty.
The journey there, however, was no walk in the park. Battling through rough seas with waves that seemed determined to toss our ferry around, I replayed every dramatic shipwreck scene in my mind at least a hundred times. For anyone prone to seasickness, let this be your sign to come prepared. Bring motion sickness pills, essential oils, mint candies—anything to help calm the storm within you. Trust me, the journey is worth it, but only if you make it there with your stomach intact!
Once on the island, I was greeted by the true stars of Rottnest: the quokkas. These adorable, smiley creatures have a charm that melts even the hardest of hearts. Imagine a fluffy, oversized rodent with a permanent grin, and you’ve got yourself a quokka! Snapping a selfie with one is practically a rite of passage here.
As I wandered further, I was struck by the sheer clarity of the ocean surrounding the island. The water shimmered like liquid crystal, its transparency so vivid it felt as though I was staring at a living, breathing sheet of glass. In that moment, I understood the magic of Rottnest—a place that makes you pause, breathe deeply, and envy the island’s leisurely pace. A reminder that even the busiest city dweller can learn to slow down and simply admire the view.

The Happiest Animal in the World.
This time, we introduce Rottnest Island, located near Perth, Australia!
To get to Rottnest Island, you can take a high-speed ferry from Perth, which takes about 40 minutes!
We explored Rottnest Island by renting bicycles. There aren't many signposts on the island, so we relied on Google Maps on our phones, but we ended up circling the island several times without being able to return to our starting point. 😅
We got quite sunburned from circling the island under the scorching sun. 😅
On Rottnest Island, we were able to meet the famous quokkas. It was so hot along the way that we couldn't see them at first, but there were plenty near the supermarket and the port, and everyone was trying hard to take selfies with them. We had to take several selfies to get a good picture with the cute quokkas.
When taking photos with quokkas, a selfie stick is essential. If you take the photo from a low angle, you can get a two-shot with a smiling quokka, so be sure to try it out!
