Picture Perfect Discovery Rottnest
#wheretogo
My stay at Discovery Rottnest was a memorable island escape that perfectly complemented the natural beauty and charm of Rottnest Island in #westernaustralia
The eco-glamping tents offered a delightful blend of comfort and sustainability. Nestled amid native coastal flora, the accommodations allowed for a true immersion in the island's environment. Waking up to the gentle waves and beautiful sea view and the sounds of nature was a unique and peaceful experience.
Exploring Rottnest Island by bike, which were conveniently available for rent, was a highlight. The proximity to the famous Pinky Beach and The Basin made it easy to enjoy the island's pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters.
In summary, Discovery Rottnest is an ideal choice for travelers seeking a unique and eco-conscious island experience. It offers a harmonious blend of luxury, nature, and adventure in one of Western Australia's most beautiful settings. My stay was a perfect complement to the captivating beauty of Rottnest Island.
Rottnest Island
This is another one of my favourite places in Perth 😍 And you if you’re heading for a holiday, you must come to the Rottnest Island 😍 I would say it’s like meeting paradise in earth. The clear waters, the white sand, an incredible environment. Everything is just beautiful and perfect 🫶🏼
Cars are not allowed in the island, and you have to take a ferry from the city(the best way is to take it from Fremantle and it costs around 40 AUS dollars 2 ways)

Rottnest Island Perth
Rottnest is a must do if you’re visiting Perth! Rottnest is home to the Quokkas, they are so cute and actually are not bothered by humans, they don’t like to be touched or fed but you can get close enough for a Quokka selfie! There are so many beauty spots on this island. This was our first time visiting Rottnest and we decided to take Rottnest Express bus which is a hop on hop off express bus that can take you all around the island. Be aware if you’re going for the day you won’t make it to every stop so you’re better picking the top spots on the island. You can also choose to cycle around the island but if you’re anything like us, the island is very hilly and we decided to save our legs! We ate lunch at Pinky’s restaurant which is near the end stops on the bus, this is where there are a lot of Quokkas! The food was lush and so were the cocktails! Such a good day I’m planing to go back whilst I’m still in Perth. #perth #australia #rottnestisland #westernaustralia #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #summervacation #passionpassport #quokka #perthtravel
Rottnest Island! Parakeet Bay! 📸😎
Getting There - Ferry from Fremantle to Rottnest and Hike all the way (35$ and up each bike for a whole day)
Attractions - A lot of salt lakes, bays and quokka selfie
Hotels - a few inns available
Food & Restaurants - a lot at the main front
It was a blast to begin the new year!

Salt Lake || Herschel Lake 😎🤩
One of the 12 salt lakes in rottnest 😊😍
Interesting fact: These lakes are four times saltier than the sea😲
Plants like beaded samphire, coastal bonefruit, grey saltbush, and coastal pigface all exist close to the lakes’ edges. Be sure to stay on the marked trails, though, to make sure you don’t trample the delicate, thousand-year-old microbialites that grow on the shores.
It creates a unique wetland habitat, crisscrossed with walking trails, that’s ripe for quiet exploration and reflection.

The second lighthouse! Not the first!😂
There are two lighthouse in rottnest island, one at the center (wadjemup lighthouse) and the other near the main port just before the pinky beach (not the pink lake).
2-3 min by bike from the main front of the island.
#rottnestisland #lighthouse
Pinky Beach! 2nd LightHouse📸😎
Rottnest Island 2nd Trip🤩
I had fun! You will have, too! 💞 This is PINKY BEACH, Rottnest Island, don’t confuse with the PINK LAKE… that’s another beach with (sometime) pinky-ish color depending on your angle and time of day.
Tips!
1. Get the earliest trip to get a quiet morning stroll at the forefront, lovely breakfast if you haven’t already
2. If possible, include the bike in your ticket (saves you trouble, i’m telling you!) we waisted a good 2hours and wasn’t even able to get the proper size for our height😩😝)
3. Stroll around first don’t waste ypur time for a lot of clicks but if you can squeeze 2-3min do it.
4. Plan so you know where to go unless you’re a GREAT Adventurer who likes to get lost and have fun
5. A lot of bays and beaches around to be lost in - don’t focus too much on ONE
6. If planning on going back don’t explore the island in one go 😉
check my moments for more!
-don’t forget to like and tell me what you think☺️

Rottnest Island!😎 Beachin’ The Beach!🤪
Rottnest Island
A protected nature reserve by The West Australians. It’s home to quokka - a small wallaby-like marsupial. White sand beaches, and secluded cove etc.,
How to get there: A popular choice for most visitors, quick and easy transfers across to the island can be booked through one of the three ferry operators.
Ferries leave from Perth City, North Fremantle (Rous Head), Fremantle (Victoria Quay) and Hillarys Boat Harbour in Perth's north with trips ranging from 25 minutes to 90 minutes.
What to do: On occasion pink sand comes just around some islands for photo shoot or you know what🤩, snorkeling and biking to get around and see the wonders of nature. An incredible place where you could get your mind off things, and get to have some picturisque picnics, sunset cocktails, secluded accommodation, cruising the ocean, long walks and/or perfect proposals and many more!
Not enough time to get to do all things in a day! i’mcomong back sometime very soon! ❤️🫣

Rottnest island is definitely worth visiting…… It provides a variety of modes of go around the island, cycling, shuttling bus. ……..
Quokkas are sooo cute and approachable. but be careful, visitors are not allowed to touch and feed them. they are quite isolated from the main island for a long time.
the island provides many entertainment activities such as snorkelling, cycling and adventure boat tour.
Staying at Rottenest Discovery Hotel 🇦🇺
#bucketlistreboot if you're looking to treat yourself to a relaxation trip you have to book this honey moon suite at rottenest discovery hotel.
The honeymoon suite comes with a gorgeous bathroom, a kitchenette with everything you need, a walk in closet, a spacious deck with sitting area to watch the sunset & a bbq pit to cook. Its an understatement to say the bed is comfy because it's literally one of the best one i have laid in. A little problem we had was the seagulls does circle around your balcony if you're cooking around sunset time, but once the sunset its all good!
They offer different rooms for different budget so if the honeymoon suite is too much, they have other rooms available too!
Overall a great experience and stay, would definitely go back to treat ourself again 😍
Exploring Rottenest Island — Western Aus 🇦🇺
#bucketlistreboot THIS IS A MUST DO when you're in Perth Western Australia. Visiting rottenest island had to be one of our main highlight when we were there! 😍
Visit the beautiful beaches with the gorgeous view of the Indian ocean, snap a selfie with the little quokka roaming the island or visit one of the many restaurant along the coast & beaches of the island.
We rented a bike to cycled around the island which was super fun, if you think cycling might be too tired you can rent a electrical bike like we did that made exploring so much easier as we had the energy to appreciate the view! Or you can ditch cycling & go with the tram that circles the island too! 😉
Have you met the happiest animal on Earth? 😄
Rottnest Island is known as the home of the happiest animal on earth, Quokkas, as well as it’s white sand beaches. Simply catch a ferry from Perth/Fremantle and you’re on your way to a good time! ⛴🏝
Highly recommended to rent a bike there so can stop at any scenic views that you want. Alternatively, you may also buy a bus ticket to board the bus which would bring you around the island attractions. During the summer season, you may also get a chance to see the salt lake that is PINK in colour, and you may also swim, surf, snorkel, fish and relax there! 🏄🏼♂️
People that visit Rottnest Island would also be familiar with the famous quokka selfie so there’s nowhere else you could do so other than in Rottnest Island! 🤳

QUOKKAS - THE HAPPIEST ANIMALS IN THE WORLD?
Quokkas, apart from a tiny colony on the Western Australia mainland, they are found only at Rottnest Island, nowhere else on Earth!
These tiny lovely wild animals are said to be the happiest animal in the world! It´s thanks to their wide smile they present on their faces all the time and their friendliness.
Quokkas are related to wallabies - small-sized kangaroos and they live in a big colony on Rottnest Island. They have almost no fear of humans and often they will come right up to you!:) Despite their friendly behaviour, please respect the fact, they are wild animals and it´s prohibited to touch them or feed them!
Firstly, it´s dangerous for quokkas to eat humans food as well as get in touch with humans bacteria. Both can be deadly for these little creatures. Secondly, although Quokkas are very friendly, they can bite if feeling threatened.
Rottnest Island is the perfect little getaway from the busy life of Perth. You can do just a one day trip or you can easily spend there a few nights.
Rottnest Island covers 19km² and is just 18 kilometers off the coast of Western Australia. From Perth, it takes only 25 minutes by ferry from Fremantle Port or 45 minutes by ferry from Hillarys Boat Harbour.
How much does it cost to go to Rottnest Island?
The price is vary depending on which company you will use, but generally speaking, it's around 70 AUD per person one way and 100 AUD return with landing fee included. Rotto is a car-free zone, so there are no cars whatsoever. You can walk, use a tourist bus or rent a bicycle and ride around.
To ride around the entire island took us around 3 hours, but with stops for a dip in crystal clear waters, you will definitely need more time!

Quokka Island Bus Tour Around the Island
On this trip to Perth, we arrived at Rottnest Island in Fremantle, also known as Quokka Island, where you can see quokkas up close 😍😍
We visited during June, which is winter time, and you can choose to get around by bike/electric scooter/bus/train. We chose the bus because it was quite chilly with the strong winds. The bus tour around the island is not only less tiring, but it also allows you to enjoy the scenery. The bus service is very frequent, with a bus every 20 minutes. You can grab a map; there are 13 stops where you can get off and enjoy the views.
We spent a whole day mainly wanting to see the quokkas. We couldn't find them in the morning because they are wild and not always easily spotted 😂. They usually appear around 3/4 pm and are very cute, munching away. But don't feed them as it can be bad for their digestion. Fallen leaves are fine, but not foreign food. If you want to take a selfie with them, here's a tip: wait until they are eating and then snap away 😂😂. Take the photo from a low angle to capture their smile. It's recommended to take a video and then capture a still image from it, so you can get a photo of you both smiling together 👍🏻
The island also offers accommodations where you can stay for 2/3 nights. It's a place of sunshine and beaches. If you want to go into the water, it's recommended to come in the summer. Besides swimming, you can also snorkel 🤿 and take a seaplane tour. Additionally, you can see seals and dolphins from a distance 😍. If it's the right season, you might even see whales. When in Perth, you definitely have to visit this little island!

Rottnest Island: A Day in Paradise
#winhkflight
#australiatrip
As the ferry glided over the crystal-clear waters, I felt a sense of anticipation building inside me. I was on my way to Rottnest Island, a paradise just off the coast of Perth, Western Australia. The island was famed for its pristine beaches, abundant wildlife, and relaxed atmosphere, and I couldn't wait to experience it all.
Stepping off the ferry, I was immediately struck by the island's natural beauty. The azure waters stretched out as far as the eye could see, fringed by powdery white sand beaches and rugged coastline. It was like stepping into a postcard-perfect paradise.
I rented a bike and set off to explore the island, pedaling along winding trails that led me through lush forests, past tranquil bays, and up to breathtaking lookout points. Along the way, I encountered all sorts of wildlife, from playful quokkas hopping about in the underbrush to colorful birds flitting through the trees.
After a morning of cycling, I decided to cool off with a swim at one of the island's secluded beaches. I found a quiet spot, slipped into the crystal-clear water, and let the gentle waves wash over me. It was pure bliss, and I felt completely at one with nature.
As the day drew to a close, I made my way back to the ferry terminal, reluctantly saying goodbye to Rottnest Island. But as I boarded the ferry and watched the island recede into the distance, I knew that I would carry the memories of my day in paradise with me forever. Rottnest Island had truly captured my heart, and I couldn't wait to return and explore more of its wonders in the future.
