The most popular hiking trail is the Adolf Munkel Trail, about 9.2 km long and takes about 4-6 hours. The view here is very beautiful, you can see the Odle mountain up close. The restaurant at Geisler Alm is delicious, suitable for resting after hiking. Suitable for all ages and really worth the trip.

It’s a budget-friendly destination to enjoy the Alps, offering a cheaper alternative to Switzerland. ♥️Based on my experience, the Dolomites can be divided into eastern and western regions. 💛Western Dolomites Most travelers use Ortisei as their base, but due to high accommodation costs, I stayed in Bolzano instead. Before my trip, I planned to visit Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, Santa Maddalena, Soprabolzano, and Lake Carezza. However, I ended up visiting Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, and Soprabolzano. ♥️Eastern Dolomites The main base city is Cortina d’Ampezzo, but I chose Dobbiaco due to its more affordable accommodation. My planned destinations included Cinque Torri, Tre Cime, Lake Misurina, Lake Braies (Lago di Braies), Lake Dobbiaco, and cycling across the Austrian border. Among these, I visited Tre Cime, Lake Braies, and cycled to Austria. 💕Accommodation Accommodation in the Dolomites is expensive, so I opted for youth hostels. The scenery outside the window gradually became magnificent, and in a blink of an eye, the hustle and bustle of the city was replaced by the tranquility of the mountains. After arriving in Bolzano, you can choose to take a bus to the small town of Ortisei, which takes about 1 hour. This town is an ideal starting point for exploring the Dolomites. - 🖼️Attractions not to be missed 📍 Lago di Carezza ▪️This lake is famous for its crystal clear waters, and a stroll around the lake is a real treat. Under the sunlight, the lake surface is shining with colorful light, like a rainbow, which is so dazzling that one can't help but want to record this moment with a camera. 📍 Seceda ▪️Seceda is one of the most stunning sights in the Dolomites. Half of the mountain is covered with grassland, and the other half is a steep cliff. Standing on the top of the mountain, you will feel an incomparable shock. There is also an old-fashioned cable car here. Taking the cable car up the mountain is like returning to your childhood. While enjoying nature, you can also feel the weight of history. The round trip cable car ticket is 39.5💶, absolutely worth it! 📍 Seiser Alm ▪️Take the cable car from Knife Edge Mountain to Seiser Alm, a great place to relax. The vast meadows, leisurely cattle and distant mountains complement each other, as if you are in a painting. 📍 Funes Valley ▪️Funes Valley is known as one of the representative attractions of Dolomites. Walking into it is like walking into a fairy tale world. Every scenery here is amazing, especially at sunset, when the golden sunlight shines on every blade of grass and tree in the valley, which is breathtakingly beautiful. Don’t forget to visit St. Johan, the loneliest internet-famous church in the world, and take some beautiful photos! - ⚠️ Tips ▪️ The attractions in the Dolomites are relatively scattered, and transportation mainly relies on public transportation. Therefore, if you don’t drive yourself, be sure to check the bus schedule before traveling and leave enough time. Had the most amazing time at dolomites this past summer. We were there for 5 days and everyday we saw many beautiful places. We started off going to the famous Lake di Braies and took a boat out. The water was so clear you can see the reflection of the mountains. Then we went to hike at Tre Cime di Lavaredo for a few hours. We did 10km trail. But didn't do a loop because we found another trail that led us to the small lakes and good view of the mountains. Next we drove to Secada. We took the cable car up to see the most breathtaking landscape. It rained and fogged up in the beginning. But when the sky cleared up it was all worth it. The Alps left the most beautiful scenery in the Dolomites mention the Alps, the first reaction is definitely Austria's snow-capped mountains. What Italy thinks of is some architecture and culture, so that friends who have stayed in Italy for so many years do not know the mountains there. Some people say that God intends to buy the best scenery for Italy, while Italy has left the most beautiful mountains to the Dolomites. This is not a mistake. Unlike the mountains in those areas, the mountains in this place are some lighter dolomites. As for what we call the big mountains as big stones, the changes from the forest and the rocks constitute a unique landscape.

I never knew how easy it was to #hike on the #dolomites, and how it can be done in a #budget. From taking the local bus from Bolzano/Bolzen, for less than 2€, we took a easy 2 hour hike to the wonderful Tschafon Hut, filled with locals, where we stayed the night (60€ per person, including breakfast) and we got to hike even higher the next day until we eventually came down the other side of the mountain and took the bus back to Bolzano. We brought our own food and ate dinner in the hut, for a reasonable price and we managed to complete this 2 day, 1 night for under 100€.

There are quite a few Asian tourists, but not many fellow travelers from Hong Kong, and hardly any tour groups. I felt like I was in Switzerland, but with Italian prices. We did our research beforehand and found that accommodations here are expensive, and restaurants are closed at night. So, we brought instant noodles, but surprisingly, there were hot meals available that were delicious and affordable. At the scenic spot's restaurant, we enjoyed dishes featuring lamb, alpaca, rabbit, and even peacock, and the coffee was cheaper than in the city. I've been to Tibet and Nepal, which are also stunning, but you need to endure altitude sickness. Switzerland is beautiful too, but everything there is expensive.
