All Moments About Riquewihr
French wine country tour_one of the most beautiful towns
A small town called Riquewihr in Alsace, northeastern France🏘🏡🥂🍸
🌟🌟Renaissance architecture in the 16th century
Walking into Riquewihr, it feels like an isolated fairy tale town, with colorful half-timbered houses in the style of Arsène and many facades decorated with various bright flowers. There are also fewer tourists than Colmar, so you can wander around the town in a relaxed manner.
The small town of Riquewihr is surrounded by vineyards and has well-preserved traditional buildings.
With fine wines, delicious food and historic buildings, it is known as the "Pearl of Alsace"

🍇 A gem on the Alsace wine route
A small town just 7 miles from Colmar in the Alsace region of northeastern France.
Riquewihr, which has preserved its medieval appearance,
is a true time travel destination with its gorgeous half-timbered buildings, winding alleys,
and golden vineyards.
🏰 A streetscape that feels like walking through a fairy tale
It's a small and cozy town, but each and every street is a living history!
The houses are decorated with colorful murals and window decorations,
and as you walk between them, you can feel the breath of merchants and artisans from hundreds of years ago.
The town's structure, which has not changed since the Middle Ages,
fascinates people like a huge open-air museum.
🍷 The rhythm of life filled with the scent of grapes
This is not just a beautiful town. A trading post of the Holy Roman Empire since the 13th century, Riquewihr has miraculously preserved its town center through several wars, and during World War II, it was designated a cultural heritage site, so its beauty escaped the flames of war.
🥂 The heart of Alsace wine
Varieties like Riesling and Gewurztraminer
have gained worldwide fame here,
and you can even taste them yourself at the traditional family wineries located throughout the town!
There are also plenty of local delicacies to try—
from goose liver to cured meats to authentic desserts, they pair perfectly with wine!
🏡 Riquewihr in numbers

A Fairytale Christmas in Riquewihr!
#magicalxmastrip
I recently spent a magical Christmas in Riquewihr, a picturesque Alsatian village in northeastern France. This tiny village was transformed into a winter wonderland, with twinkling lights, festive decorations, and a charming Christmas market.
As I strolled through the village's cobblestone streets, I felt like I had stepped into a fairytale. The half-timbered houses, adorned with festive wreaths and garlands, added to the village's enchanting atmosphere. I enjoyed sampling local delicacies, such as mulled wine and bredele, and browsing the unique handmade crafts and souvenirs.
What made Riquewihr's Christmas market truly special was its intimate and authentic atmosphere. Unlike larger Christmas markets, Riquewihr's market felt cozy and welcoming, with locals and visitors alike gathering to celebrate the holiday season.

Tower Museum of Thieves
Tower Museum of Thieves
Tower Museum of Thieves is the most impressive and educational.
The horrors of torture are still part of this building.
But there are also several rooms with interesting historical movies and the descent through the brewers house is a nice second part of the experiënce.
Amazing how 500 years old wooden houses still stand. These pictures are of the Tower Museum.
