Cabo Girao
Madeira Islands Portugal
Cabo Girao is located west of the city of Fonchal in the Madeira Islands. This is a very popular attraction that can receive up to 1,800 visitors per day. It is 589m high and is an almost vertical cape, where you can enjoy the magnificent sea view of Camara de Lobos and Funchal. The transparent glass viewing platform magnifies this sensory experience infinitely, as if it were at the junction of the sea and the sky. Cabo Girao's aerial trail is the highest cliff aerial trail in Europe, which was opened to the public in late October 2012. Similar to the American Grand Canyon Trail - both are made of transparent glass, providing visitors with stunning views. But it is difficult to see the scenery below after the tempered glass of the trail has been treated, which is a hazy feeling... However, the clear blue layer of the sea and the scenery of the sea and the sky in the distance still make people feel relaxed and comfortable.
There is an artificially cultivated field under the steep cliff, which used to be only available to farmers by boat. In August 2003, the local government installed cable cars on the slopes of the cliffs so that farmers could take the cable cars to these low-lying fields.

The Cabo Girão Skywalk, perched on Madeira's highest cliff, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic and the island's rugged coastline. The glass-floored platform adds an exhilarating touch, allowing visitors to feel like they're floating above the sea. It's a must-visit for thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. The experience is both awe-inspiring and memorable.
