This hotel is a symbol of Quebec City. It was also the setting for the Korean drama "Goblin". This hotel is modeled after a French castle, giving it a wonderful medieval European atmosphere. Montmorency Falls is located about 14 kilometers northeast of Quebec City, Canada. The waterfall is 83 meters high, 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls in the United States and Canada. There are stairs that allow visitors to view the falls from several different angles, and there is also a cable car that transports passengers between the base and top of the falls. In summer, the park hosts an international fireworks competition with the falls as a backdrop. During the summer months, the falls glow a golden yellow due to the high iron content in the water bed. The suspension bridge at the top of the waterfall provides access to both sides of the park. This is the only way to see the waterfall up close in winter. I was only here for the day as well. we were driving to the east coast and I begged me dad to stop. Such a beautiful town. Old Quebec is a great day stop. Lots to see and take pictures of and plenty of restaurants to try. My only warning is there was not many public washrooms and by that I mean we never found one. There was a government building that has one but I’d suggest using the washroom every time you see one just in case. Otherwise enjoy walking down every street you never know what you might find. I’d love to go back and have more time to plan what I need to see but for a spontaneous trip I don’t think I could have found a better city. #canada #quebec

I could have easily and contentedly wiled away my last full day in Montreal last October with more city frolicking, had I not gotten the itch: the undeniable urge to get out, shake things up, and up the excitement gauge in my life. It’s not often enough that I get to escape city life for a 4-wheeled adventure. Renting a Zipcar for the day in NYC ends up costing about $140, otherwise I have to schlep to/from LaGuardia Airport via 2 subway trains and a bus to spend about half of that on a regular car rental. I just can’t justify the inflated price or the heartache and hassle of either rental option in New York. But while traveling, there’s another variable at play when I contemplate a splurge: the ‘now or never’ factor, i.e. I’m here now. Who knows if or when I’ll ever be back. Or, loosely translated: YOLO. I was in Montreal for the first time in 28 years, during prime foliage season – when was I going to have the chance again to go wine tasting and leaf peeping in Quebec’s Eastern Townships region? Here are the restaurants I recommend!! Mary’s popcorn and COCHON DINGUE in Quebec. As you can see from the name, Mary’s popcorn is a popcorn shop. They sell various sizes and flavors, but we bought the Quebec style! From what I remember, the Quebec style has three flavors: original, cheese, and caramel. It was so delicious that we bought two bags.. And COCHON DINGUE, which we found while walking around Quebec. We didn’t know it was a famous restaurant, but there were so many people that we went in to eat, and they said it was a famous restaurant.ㅎㅎ In Korean, the name of the restaurant is Crazy Pig. We ordered maple ribs and poutine. You should definitely try the ribsㅠㅠ It’s a taste that I still think about.
