CATHERINE PALACE
Catherine Palace, also known as the Summer Palace, was built during the reign of Peter the Great between 1717 and 1723. It served as a summer retreat for his beloved wife, Catherine I. The palace features only two colors: blue and gold. The gold represents Catherine's hair, while the blue symbolizes her eyes. Wow!
Catherine Palace is renowned for its beauty, with numerous rooms each decorated in different styles according to their function. The highlight that should not be missed is the 'Amber Room' (Amber Room) (Picture 7), often referred to as the 'Eighth Wonder of the World' due to its interior adorned with amber and gold furniture.
Another must-see is the 'Catherine Park,' a beautiful garden divided into Old Garden and English Garden styles, which holds significant architectural and historical importance in the city.
Do you know these little tips for traveling to Russia?
How to play in Russia❓ Although tourism is not the main industry in Russia, it is definitely a seriously underestimated treasure of tourism, and the recent climate is also very pleasant☀ Here you can check in the capital of Russia, Moscow and one of the super beautiful cities, St. Petersburg🏰
👍For the first time, it is recommended to go with a group because English is not commonly used in Russia❌, language communication is a big problem, like booking hotels, transportation problems are more troublesome
In addition, you will be shocked by its various majestic buildings, such as the Catherine Palace, the Kremlin, the Winter Palace Museum, the Summer Garden, and the Red Square. A casual shot is a big scene📷
❗【About the precautions for traveling to Russia to help you avoid 80% of the pits】
①Language problem
English is not a common language in Russia, so remember to download the translation software in advance, and other things like transportation and accommodation are best arranged in advance in China to save a lot of trouble
②About cash
Remember to exchange some rubles at the bank in China before departure, restaurants and attractions do not directly accept foreign currency, Visa cards are currently not available in Russia, you can also bring some cash to exchange locally
③Toilets have to pay
Many toilets in Russia need to be paid, about 50 rubles, so if you are in a museum or encounter a free toilet, it is recommended that you go up if you can
In addition, be careful of those who are dressed in doll costumes or princess costumes and enthusiastically take pictures with you!
④About the bald party
In fact, the public security in Russia is much better than the legend. The so-called "bald party" that specializes in hitting foreigners is almost gone in Russia. As long as Chinese tourists abide by the local order and show a high level of cultivation, Russians will also be very friendly, but in crowded places, they still need to pay attention to anti-theft~

💗Other Tips:
Catherine Palace, also known as Yekaterina Palace, was built during the reign of Peter the Great of Russia.
Catherine Palace was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
The Golden Hall of Catherine Palace is the largest room in the palace. It was designed by Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, an Italian architect who moved to Russia and a representative of Baroque architecture, from 1752 to 1756. The Golden Hall covers an area of over 800 square meters and was mainly used for celebrations, banquets, dances, and official receptions. The hall is covered with linden wood carvings and sculptures in continuous patterns, and then coated with gold powder, giving the hall a magnificent visual effect, hence the name Golden Hall.
The Amber Room (Amber Palace) is a legend in itself. It was a gift from Prussian King William I to Russian Tsar Peter the Great in 1716. The walls are inlaid with over 6 tons of amber and precious jewels, shining with all the colors of yellow that humans can imagine, from lemon yellow to golden red. It is breathtakingly brilliant and is listed as the eighth wonder of the world. In 1709, Prussian King Frederick I, in order to emulate the luxurious life of French Emperor Louis XIV, ordered Prussia's most famous architect to build the "Amber Room". After its completion, it was dazzling and magnificent, and was known as the "eighth wonder of the world". During World War II, the "Amber Room", this treasure house, was looted by the Nazis who rushed into St. Petersburg. However, with the end of World War II, this rare treasure suddenly disappeared from the eyes of the world. In recent years, more and more people believe that the 27 boxes of the "Amber Room" that were dismantled and zeroed may be sinking at the bottom of a lake in Austria. It was not until the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg (2003) that Russian craftsmen restored its appearance at that time. This restoration project took 25 years and cost 11 million US dollars, and is located in Catherine Palace. The newly restored Amber Palace is known as the "ninth wonder of the world" for its exquisite craftsmanship, superb technology, and the ups and downs of its historical story.

(Note: There is no relationship between the first and second generations, both are married to the emperor or the crown prince)
The interior decoration of the palace is extremely extravagant and luxurious, with gold and jade everywhere, countless treasures, and of course most of the collections are accompanied by the exquisite and euphemistic characteristics of women; and the garden with a lake in front of the palace is indeed the characteristic of Yeka Palace, around the lake A group of ducks wandered freely in the lush lake, and the buildings scattered around the lake, with small buildings of the same style as the palace, and houses with golden domes, reflecting the artistic style of European gardens everywhere, and floating everywhere. The melody of nature-based and intoxicating.

The Legend and Mystery of the Catherine Palace
In the vast land of Russia, St. Petersburg shines like a dazzling pearl, radiating a unique charm. The Catherine Palace, a resplendent and luxurious Tsarist residence, astonishes every visitor with its incomparable grandeur.
Tsarskoye Selo, a small town located 25 kilometers south of St. Petersburg, was given a new name—Pushkin Town—because the poet Pushkin once studied there. From 1744 to 1796, under the leadership of Empress Elizabeth and Catherine the Great, the construction of this Tsarist palace continued, gradually revealing its majestic splendor. Designed by Rastrelli, the court architect of St. Petersburg, and named after Peter the Great's second wife, the palace retains its original Baroque style. Its magnificent facade and the well-restored 20-plus rooms all showcase the ultimate in luxury.
Inside the palace, one is overwhelmed by the Arabian Hall, the Knight's Dining Room, the Portrait Hall, and others, but the world-famous Amber Room is the most dazzling of all. The 55-square-meter Amber Room, with its 12 wall panels and 12 columns made of amber—more precious than gold and weighing six tons—was originally a gift from King Frederick I of Prussia to Peter the Great. Under the decision of Empress Elizabeth, it was perfectly integrated with gilded wood carvings, mirrors, agate, and gemstone mosaics, creating this unique wonder.
However, the Amber Room, with its tumultuous fate, was plundered by the Nazi German army in 1941. The Germans dismantled all the panels, packed them into 27 crates, and transported them back to Germany. Since then, these panels have mysteriously disappeared, sparking countless speculations and legends. Some say they sank in Austria's Toplitz Lake, some say they were destroyed by the Allies, and others say they went down with a German submarine. Although the Soviet government organized experts to rebuild the Amber Room in 1979 and reopened it in 2003, the mysteriously missing original panels remain elusive.
As time passes, the mystery of the Amber Room panels remains unsolved, like an eternal question mark, waiting for people to explore and pursue. The story of the Catherine Palace continues in splendor and mystery, drawing countless visitors to experience the weight of history and the allure of its puzzles.
