~A rustic tourist destination with warm people~
📍Trip Overview
Puno City is the capital of Puno Department. It is located at 15°50′S and 71°01′W on the west shore of Lake Titicaca. It is 3850 meters above sea level.
The population is about 220,000. Like many other Peruvian cities, it has the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral in the center of the city. On a hill adjacent to the city, statues of the three sacred animals of the Incas, the condor, puma, and snake, are erected overlooking the city.
🚩Route
It can be reached by slow bus from Copacabana, Bolivia, in about 3 to 4 hours.
🏖️Photogenic Spot
You can take photos the whole time you are on the ferry.
🚇Transportation
The Uros Islands, part of Lake Titicaca in Puno, can be easily reached by booking a ferry the day before.
💡Notes
When applying with a tour company, you can usually get a discount if you bargain. The Uros Islands are a tourist destination, and since they are funded by tourism, there are souvenir shops on the islands, which are typical of tourist destinations, but personally, I think that being an island made of straw is a novelty and a recommended place in itself. However, some people did not have a very good experience.
