Poprad-Tatry Airport in Slovakia is a delight for travelers. Nestled in the shadow of the stunning High Tatras mountains, it offers breathtaking views. Despite its small size, the airport operates with impressive efficiency, ensuring swift check-ins and smooth security checks. The friendly staff adds to the positive experience. Overall, I left feeling happy and content with my journey through this charming airport.

Tucked away in the Tatra Mountains of Slovakia, you can take a €2 train from the city of Poprad to the start of an hour long hike to this mountain lake with incredible views of the mountain range making it such an enjoyable hike. If you’re up for a longer hike you can enjoy an extra 1.5 hour long hike via the red coloured sign posts. This hike allows you to really take in the essence of this lake as it becomes smaller and smaller as you hike uphill and into the mountains. I was there in the peak of the summer in August and there were still very few people around and it was very peaceful up in the mountains, I couldn’t believe how few people discover these mountains on the Slovakian side of the Poland/Slovakia border.
