A must-visit forest for dog walking and hiking around Chengdu
Zhongba Forest is located in Pengzhou City, just 1.5 hours from downtown Chengdu. Therefore, if you live in Chengdu, you can make a round trip within a day, and it is also very convenient to visit during the weekends.
The trees here are lush and are artificially planted. Whether viewed from above or up close, the scenery is spectacular. Follow the main trail upwards, and you'll reach an excellent spot for aerial photography.
If you want to take beautiful photos of the forest with light and shadow, you can choose to not follow the main trail and take a small path into the woods instead. The trail is not very long; if you walk fast, it takes only about ten minutes to complete, and the path is easy to walk, mainly because the small paths on the mountain are quite slippery.
▶ Chengdu -> Zhongba Conservation Station (1 hour 30 minutes)
▶ Zhongba Conservation Station, Pengzhou City
▶ Self-driving
▶ No admission fee, but parking at the trailhead costs 10 yuan/vehicle (poor signal on the mountain, it is recommended to bring change)

1. > Bring your own snacks and water (there are no shops inside);
2. > Be sure to prevent fires when visiting the forest. After reaching the village, there is still a 10+ minute drive. You can drive directly to the forest entrance, but this section of the road is difficult for passing cars. If you want to hike, you can park at the village committee and then walk up (about 30-40 minutes);
3. > Additionally, the popular Panlong Valley scenic area is nearby, and it is suggested to plan a day trip there;
4. > Xiaoyudong No.3 Campsite is also nearby; if camping is open in the summer, you can camp and visit the forest at the same time;
5. > Friends with drones should continue along the trail, and at the end, there will be a small square, which is also the end of the trail, but you can continue into the deeper forest behind;
