Stop crowding at The Bund, this is the best spot in Shanghai that "old magicians" would go to!
As the May Day holiday approaches, the crowd at The Bund is getting larger by the day, with the situation of people squeezing against each other becoming more intense. However, there is a place that not only avoids this phenomenon but is also the favorite shooting spot for Shanghai's "old magicians" - the Zhapu Road Bridge! Almost every day, you can see Shanghai's "uncles" with their "big guns and small cannons" (cameras) squatting there early, and now, many young people have joined this group too. Just in time, there's a "Bending Girl" exhibition at Rockbund Art Museum, which you can go and check out!
🗓Itinerary:
17:00 Rockbund Art Museum➡️Yuanmingyuan Road➡️Former New Heaven and Earth Church➡️18:15 Zhapu Road Bridge➡️Waibaidu Bridge
1. Rockbund Art Museum: Currently hosting the "murmur" art installation exhibition, the "Bending Girl", originally named "tireless girl", created by illustrator Zhou Riyang, conveys the spirit of "confidence and self-consistency, never tiring", ending on May 14th.
2. Yuanmingyuan Road: This is a pedestrian street lined with historical conservation buildings, making it a super photogenic spot. Therefore, it's especially popular with newlyweds taking wedding photos, and you'll encounter at least seven or eight couples along the way
3. Former New Heaven and Earth Church: Built in 1886, it is one of Shanghai's remaining waterfront old churches where weddings can be held, and concerts are hosted on weekends.
4. Zhapu Road Bridge: The highlight of this Citywalk is the Zhapu Road Bridge, which is often "occupied" by photography enthusiasts. Although it's an excellent spot for shooting The Bund, it's not very crowded, really photogenic, and definitely not to be missed when in Shanghai!
5. Waibaidu Bridge: Walking along the Hongkou Riverside to Waibaidu Bridge, you'll see people sketching, having a drink at riverside bars, or just sitting and daydreaming. The overall vibe is very chill~
It's not long before you reach Waibaidu Bridge, where the daisies by the bridge are blooming just right, together with the purple sky and the opposite Shanghai Building, they form a picturesque scene... Walking on the bridge, with the Shanghai Postal Museum at sunset on one side and The Bund's buildings on the other, makes one stop in their tracks, feeling the joy of being surrounded by beautiful scenery!
