Zhaotong Ancient City Treasure Check-in Point: Zhaotong Museum
🛤️Zhaotong, Yunnan, is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, at the junction of Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces, and is known as the "key to southern Yunnan and the throat of western Sichuan." Apart from the not-so-ancient Zhaotong Ancient City, there is almost nothing to visit in the city, so Zhaotong Museum has naturally become a treasure-level check-in point.
🔥Main highlights:
1️⃣The exterior of Zhaotong Museum is composed of a majestic ship and an ancient Han seal, making it a cultural landmark of Zhaotong City.
2️⃣The five permanent exhibition halls, "Ancient Footsteps, Long History," "Revolutionary Old Area, Red Memory," "Republic of China Zhaotong, Bloody Anti-Japanese War," "Gathering Home, Ethnic Style," and "Cultural Glory, Talents Emerge," each have their own characteristics, with a total visit time of about 2 hours.
🏺Must-see cultural relics in the museum:
3️⃣Eastern Han Dynasty bronze figurine riding a deer. The overall appearance is natural and lifelike, and the deer, which is homophonic with "lu" (meaning "prosperity") in ancient times, has an auspicious meaning.
4️⃣"Made in the eighth year of Jianchu, Zhuti" bronze basin. It is a typical Han Dynasty artifact and has important value for studying the history of Han Dynasty metallurgy.
5️⃣Yuan Zi cliff inscription. The calligraphy is extremely precious.
6️⃣In addition, the Zhuti Tanglang bronze basin, Mengqin three-linked letter seal, Meng Xiaojue stele, and Huo Chengsi mural from the Han and Jin periods in the ancient history section all have high cultural relic value.
✔️Tickets: Free admission. No need to make a reservation in advance on the official WeChat account on non-holidays, and there are indeed not many visitors.
📍Address: Zhaotong Avenue, Zhaoyang District, Zhaotong City. This area is a sparsely populated new district, with convenient parking, and there is no need to park in the museum's parking lot when driving, as roadside parking spaces are free.
