Yuyuan Gardens are beautiful to visit any time of year. However, during the Chinese Lantern Festival everything is decorated and looks lovely! There are plenty of places inside to eat and shop as well. I bought an engraved pearl necklace and pieces of jade while visiting (be prepared to haggle as it’s part of the culture). Recently, I visited Hongyin Shanfang in Suzhou, and after returning to Nanjing, I visited Yuyuan Garden. I visited in winter, so I didn't have high expectations. But after visiting, I found that the garden was well maintained and had a different feel in each season. 🌟 Highlights: In this season, in addition to the usual background music, beautiful giant spring couplets are hung on the island in the middle of the lake. Although it is not as stunning as Zhan Yuan, it is more Zen in the downtown, and the garden is quiet, the scenery is beautiful and there are few people, which contains the deep meaning of 'great wisdom is like stupidity, and great hidden in the city'. This visit was not deliberate, but just happened on a sunny day. I was in a good mood, and naturally woke up and decided to walk around. Ironing the newly acquired small iron, enjoying the warmth of the sun, sitting under the maple tree watching the sparkling lake, tasting a cup of coffee, it is a very healing enjoyment! Yu Yuan is located in Laomen West, Qinhuai District, Nanjing. It is a famous Jiangnan garden in the late Qing Dynasty and is known as the 'Jinling Lion Forest'. It is commonly known as Hu's Garden, because the owner of Yu Yuan at that time was the Hu family.
