We parked our car next to a local resident's house for only CNY 10 with no time limit—what a bargain! Then, we started our hike on the Yushan small loop trail. The entire route is about 7.5 km and takes about 4 hours with breaks. It's super beginner-friendly. The scenery along the way is picturesque, like a natural landscape painting unfolding before our eyes. Every step brought unexpected surprises, and our kid was so excited, chattering non-stop. In the evening, we found a farmhouse restaurant near Yushan Mountain. After the hike, our kid had a huge appetite and devoured the authentic farmhouse dishes. I thought it would be better to go to Moganshan, but unfortunately, Moganshan did not make the trip, so I retreated and chose the Yushan Eagle Line. The tweet did not describe this line accurately enough. It was obviously a dry season, so there shouldn't be any waterfalls... With this mood, we joined the group and headed to Changshu. Entering the side door of the scenic spot, began to go up along the steps, no wind and scorching sun, the first section of the road up made many people panting, I was sweating profusely, a little out of breath next time. Keep stopping to rest halfway through. Finally reaching the rest point, the leader advised the exhausted group members to leave the small ring (little eagle). My love and I felt okay after rest, thinking that after all, we had abused Wugong Mountain, this should be bearable, and started down the mountain with the leader to prepare to climb the second hill. Most of the middle section is walked in the scenic area. Although Yushan is small, the scenery is still beautiful: "Sword Gate", "Heavenly Book Wall", "Mo Cliff Stone Carvings", "Qian Xinxin", "Looking Lake Hall"... With your footsteps, these are like a picture one by one. Unfold before your eyes. After passing the long downhill steps, after a section of forested avenue of about 400m or so, shortly after crossing the connected Fuqiao, the last climb began, steep slope, mixed earth and rocks, continuous climb, almost no flat land, little gentle slope. The hike started at 9.30am and ended at 6pm. The route was mostly under the shade of trees. It was 34 degrees on the day we went, but it was not as hot as we imagined. I drink a lot of water when I sweat, and I drank about 3 liters of water that day. There are a few places selling water in the first half, but basically none in the latter part. There are quite a lot of people on this route on weekends, and we met several teams. If you get lost, you can wait a while. The people I met were very welcoming, and I even had the opportunity to take some aerial photos.

Weekends are perfect for a rendezvous with sisters at Changshu Yu Mountain. Four of us went together, and for the sake of convenience and laughter, we chose the simple "small loop trail". Before departure: Download the "Liabulu" app - search for the small loop trail - download the route. Equipment: Trekking poles (very important), comfortable shoes, a running pack (lightweight), bread, chocolate, water. Transport: High-speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao to Changshu Station. Hidden strategy: Get off at Hongqiao Terminal 2 subway station, find the elevator - press for the 3rd floor departure level - towards the train direction - it takes 5 minutes to reach the high-speed train departure level, personally tested and effective). Hiking starting point (very important!): From the high-speed train station, take a taxi. Drivers can easily get the starting point wrong, remember to locate "Qingya Tea Garden Shanwanli", it takes about 20 minutes to get there! Remember: Do not locate Baoyan Tourist Park! They charge an entrance fee of ¥30 per person! Route: Since we did our research before going, the checkpoints were very clear: Longtan Lake (very blue and beautiful, a must-visit) - Lianzhu Cave (more beautiful when it rains, ordinary on sunny days) - Xingfu Temple (light incense and make a wish). The rest of the time, we just walked, stopped, and took photos along the way. If you encounter a cable car, you can also take it (ticket sales stop at 4 pm!). Lianzhu Cave is hard to find! Remember to follow the crowd to avoid getting lost, just keep following the wooden path and you'll find it. We hiked the entire way, a total of 9km, which took 4 hours! Since I work out regularly, it felt quite easy for me, so it's a good try for hiking newbies!

Finally checked off the Yu Shan Eagle Trail that I've heard so much about, which is said to have been popularized by Shanghai license plate holders. It's really great! It's challenging but not too difficult, with a variety of road types, high in fun, with food, drinks, and toilets available, free of charge, and when it comes to photography, it's truly top among the mountains we've climbed in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area! Xingfu Zen Temple, located at the northern foot of Yushan in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, is a national key Buddhist temple in Han Chinese areas designated by the State Council, a cultural relic protection unit, originally named 'Daci Temple' during the Yanxing to Zhongxing years of the Southern Qi dynasty. In the fifth year of the Datong era of the Liang dynasty (539 AD), it was greatly renovated and expanded, renamed 'Fushou Temple', and also known as 'Poshan Temple' because it was next to Polongjian. In the ninth year of the Xiantong era of the Tang dynasty (868 AD), Emperor Yizong bestowed the name 'Xingfu Zen Temple', making Xingfu Temple one of the famous temples in the south of the Yangtze River. In the thirty-seventh year of the Qianlong era (1772 AD), a pavilion was built and a stele was erected inside Xingfu Temple, which remains intact. The vegetarian noodles from the neighboring Xingfu Old Noodle Shop are very famous.

Changshu ancient city has a history of more than 1700 years. The Yu Mountain city wall is a section of the Changshu city wall that runs along Yu Mountain. It is the only city wall in the southern Jiangsu region that is built upon a mountain, and is known as the 'Little Great Wall of Jiangnan'. It covers an area of 27,000 square meters, with a majestic presence and a total length of more than 1,200 meters. It features the 'Yu Mountain Gate Tower', 'Zhenhai Platform', and 'Fucheng Gate', and is equipped with battlements, horse paths, and more. From atop the wall, one can take in the panoramic view of green mountains and waters, ancient city alleys, and the harmonious blend of mountains, water, and city, showcasing the unique scenery of 'ten miles of green mountains half-encroaching into the city'.

On the first day, I headed straight to Yu Mountain and Xingfu Zen Temple~ Xingfu Zen Temple is located at the foot of Yu Mountain, very close to the Yu Mountain cable car station, and opens early. As soon as I arrived in Changshu, I went to burn incense and pray for blessings. 'The winding path leads to a secluded spot, where the Zen rooms are deep in flowers and trees', this poem describes Xingfu Zen Temple perfectly. There is a Wangyue Tower noodle shop at the entrance of the temple, which is famous. I tried the big meat noodles and mushroom oil noodles, and I feel that the big meat noodles are better, flavorful and soft! Most of the attractions in Changshu open at 8 or 8:30 in the morning and close at 4 or 4:30 in the afternoon. It is recommended to check and confirm before traveling. The cable car ride takes about 20 minutes one way, and it's quite hot on a sunny day. Fortunately, I brought a fan. The station is the Yu Mountain Sword Gate Scenic Area! Inside, you can see the Sword Pavilion, there is a platform overlooking the mountain, very beautiful~ It is said that if you go down, you can see the Three Lives Stone and inscriptions, but we were a bit tired on the first day and didn't go down to see. Looking at Yu Mountain and Monk Lake on the map, one mountain and one water, perfectly symmetrical, it's quite magical.

Jiangsu Province, Changshu City, Yushan Scenic Area: Named after the son of the Shang Dynasty's Zhou clan, Zhong Yong (Yu Zhong), who gave up his position to his younger brother and became the ancestor of the south. After his death, he was buried here. The western part of Yushan is the Shidong Scenic Area, the southwest is the Baoyan Scenic Area, the top of the central mountain is the Jianmen Scenic Area, the northern part is the Xingfu Scenic Area where Xingfu Temple is located, the eastern part is the Yushan City Wall, and the northeast is Yushan Park.
