The Jade Emperor Temple is located in Fucheng Village, Jincun Town, Zezhou County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. It is a Taoist temple with a long history. It was built in the ninth year of Xining (1076) during the reign of Emperor Shenzong of the Northern Song Dynasty. The temple has a rigorous architectural layout. The first mountain gate, the second mountain gate, Chengtang Hall, Xian Hall and Jade Emperor Hall are arranged in sequence along the central axis, showing the unique style of temple architecture in the Song Dynasty. The Jade Emperor Temple covers an area of 3,520 square meters, with a vast construction area and as many as 110 halls and pavilions. There are more than 280 colored sculptures and 120 square meters of murals from the Jin, Yuan and Ming dynasties preserved in the temple, showing a rich historical and cultural heritage. The Jade Emperor Hall is an original structure of the Song Dynasty, with a rigorous architectural structure and fine carvings. The Jade Emperor and other Taoist gods are enshrined in the hall. The wooden carving pavilions and the statues of the 28 constellations in the Chengtang Hall are relics of the Yuan Dynasty, with exquisite craftsmanship and vivid shapes. In 1988, the Jade Emperor Temple was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit, attracting many tourists and believers to visit. Visitors can appreciate the ancient architectural art and feel the profound heritage of Taoist culture.
