Yuanrong Temple, the full name of which is Yuanrong Wuai Zen Temple, is located in Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo City. It was first built in the seventh year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (351 AD). It is the ancestral temple of the Korean Yuanrong Sect and was once a temple supported by the royal family of the Northern Qi Dynasty. The so-called "Yuanrong" means "breaking prejudice and achieving perfect harmony"; "Wuai" means "no worries in the heart and no obstacles in the actions". It is a thousand-year-old temple surrounded by mountains, facing west and east.Yuanrong Temple has 11 courtyards, 19 halls, two pagodas, seven halls, two courtyards, one pavilion and 17 springs. Visitors can see many cultural relics from past dynasties, including the 250-cm-high sandstone Vairocana Buddha statue from the Sui Dynasty, the white jade Pizhi Buddha statue from the Ming Dynasty, the seven-story white jade pagoda from the Tang Dynasty, the lion-tiger beast, stone tiger, stone statues from the Tang Dynasty, the white jade horse, altar, Manjusri roar from the Ming Dynasty, and the water beast from the Qing Dynasty. There are hundreds of exotic flowers and plants planted in the temple, and dozens of ancient trees over a hundred years old, including a 350-year-old persimmon tree and a 320-year-old Sophora japonica tree. Seeing these ancient trees that have lived for hundreds of years and are still green, I was amazed at their vigorous life. They stand here, as if telling people the vicissitudes and legends of this thousand-year-old temple.Visitors can also visit the Dangyangyu Porcelain Kiln Site, about 800 meters away from the ancient temple, to see this folk porcelain kiln built in the Song Dynasty.
