Yangshan Stele Material, located at the foot of Yangshan Mountain in Jiangning District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, was excavated in the third year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1405). It is the site where the Shengong Shengde Stele was quarried by Ming Chengzu Zhu Di to praise the merits of his father, Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang. The Yangshan Stele Material is divided into three parts: the base stone, the stele body stone, and the stele head stone. Except for the stele head stone, which is completely detached from the mountain, the other two stones are connected to the mountain at one end. The bottom ends of the three stones are connected to the mountain with supporting material feet. The Yangshan Stele Material showcases the systematic thinking, strategic planning, scientific understanding of mountain stone materials, implementation of construction specifications, and the construction wisdom and superb craftsmanship of early Ming Dynasty artisans, and it has high historical value.
