Trendy Shopping
#summervacay
Ximending is famously known as youth culture hub. Street fashion rules here—independent boutiques, Japanese/Korean-style clothing, and thrift stores. Global and local brands (e.g., Uniqlo, NET, H&M) blend with niche youth brands, cosplay shops, and hip accessories. A foodie paradise: bubble tea (like Tiger Sugar), hot star fried chicken, takoyaki, grilled mochi, and creative snacks.

Xi men ding at night
#springitinerary
Visit xi men ding at night! During the day time early morning there were not much stores open and it’s quieter. At night it’s insane the crowd was huge and there were so many people near the pop mart store and xing fu tang bubble tea! But the crowd was what attracted me to here anyway. Do walk around there’s many shops to look at and you may find some souvenirs you would like to purchase back for friends and families

Care bear store in Taipei
#springitinerary
I realised there’s quite a number of stores selling care bear stuff when I was in Taipei. So I passed by this shop and noted the cute bears being sold from outside and took a look. They have many items like shoes bags accessories key chains plushies etc and even blind boxes. There were a few people in the store and all were interested to purchase. Do drop by if you’re in Taipei! It’s a really cute store and recommend you to come take a look

Ximending, The Most Viral Spot In Taipei. A Wonderland For Shopping And Eating
If you’re looking at coming to Taipei you’re going to run into this place all over social media and blogs - it’s probably the most viral spot in the city. Its infamous crosswalk brings crowds all day long and it is a hive of activity - the cross walk it self has a very orderly queuing system it’s that popular! It’s possible to get
Photos from the side or from the higher windows of the shops around it.
After the crosswalks you can experience the little red house, another landmark of Taipei just across the road. After that you can explore the bustling shopping streets for a deal, this was the best place for souvenirs in my opinion as the choice is huge!
The street food and side vendors are amazing and you can have some of Taipei’s best street food and snacks here. If you want sit down meals a lot of the restaurants are hidden in the upper floors so look up for signage and then find the doors / stairs in-between the stores to head up.
The area is a whole other experience after hours and has an amazing night life! So be sure to check it out
📍Address: Ximen Station
🕰️Business Hours: 9AM to late!

From Toy Takoyaki to Totoro Corners
#taipeiattractions
Every detail in this place is Instagram-worthy — from the octopus stand selling toy takoyaki to the surprise Totoro plush hiding near a wooden tea stall. There’s even a vending cart that looks like it came straight from a 1960s film, complete with nostalgic posters and shop signs.
This place is more than a pharmacy — it’s part theme park, part photo studio, part walk down memory lane. Whether you’re a parent, a nostalgic adult, or just a curious traveler, you’ll leave with a smile and way too many photos.

Medicine Meets Magic in Ximending
#taipeiattractions
At first glance, 日藥本舖 looks like your typical drugstore. But once you step inside… it’s a colorful, creative, and totally magical space! Kids are having a blast pretending to sell ramen and yakitori, while adults sneak up to the third floor for some retro fun. Where else can you get skincare, snap aesthetic photos, and play in a fantasy market — all in one building?
It’s rare to find a spot that’s fun for both kids and adults without needing an entrance ticket. Definitely worth popping by if you’re near Ximen MRT.

Xing Fu Tang, a must-try check-in spot in the heart of Ximending
#VisaFreeTravel Let's go to Taiwan with Xin Fu Tang, a popular milk tea shop at Ximending Night Market. It's easy to see because it's located at the intersection in the middle of the road. It's located on the corner, opposite POPMART. It stands out with bright lights, a red logo, and the smell of brown sugar wafting from afar. The highlight menu is bubble milk tea topped with sugar and chewy pearls. There are also xiao long bao to eat with it, making it a great light meal while walking around. Each costs 120 TWD.

[Taipei] Experience modern Taipei in Ximending, a mecca for young people
If you visit Taipei, you should walk around Ximending at least once. This area is like Harajuku or Shibuya in Japan, and is a place where trend-conscious young people gather. It is an attractive spot packed with gourmet food, fashion, and entertainment. As soon as you leave the Taipei MRT Ximen Station, you will see lively signs and street art, and just walking around will make you excited.
A treasure trove of B-grade gourmet food
One of the attractions of Ximending is, without a doubt, eating your way around. There is a wide selection of local Taiwanese foods, such as fried chicken, stinky tofu, beef noodles, and douhua. When I visited, I was particularly impressed by the chewy pepper buns and sweet and salty braised pork rice. Many of the food stalls offer takeout, so it is perfect for enjoying the city while eating your way around.
A fusion of culture and retro
Ximending is also dotted with historical buildings from the Japanese colonial period. For example, the Red House Theater is a quaint building made of red bricks, and is currently a cultural center where young artists' exhibitions and markets are held. The retro atmosphere and pop culture are exquisitely mixed, and you can feel a unique atmosphere that you won't find in other Taiwanese cities.
Shopping is also fun!
There are many shops where you can buy trendy items such as clothes, cosmetics, and accessories at reasonable prices, and it is especially popular with women in their teens and twenties. There are also plenty of hobby-related items such as K-POP goods and anime shops, so you will forget about time. At night, the city is lit up and becomes even more gorgeous, showing a different look from the daytime.
Summary
Ximending is a city where Taiwanese tradition and modernity are exquisitely mixed. If you want to experience the "now" of Taipei as well as sightseeing, be sure to visit. It is a place like a power spot where you can get energy just by walking.
