Get off at Le Island Wharf, turn right and you will see a large sea of flowers, as well as a bench and a little girl holding flowers for a photo. An unexpected gem of a tourist site. A colleague at work asked if I wanted to go to their hometown of Deqing for the long weekend. So I tagged along and stayed with them nearby to Moganshan. The family that I stayed with really wanted me to go to the wetlands instead of to the more touristy Moganshan town. so that's where we went. At Xiazhu Lake you start your adventure through the park with a trip on the boats which cut through the lily pads and head through the lake at the centre of the park. Once you dock, there are trails and activities to do all around the lake. Jumping, climbing or just relaxing Chinese camping style there is space and options. The coffee house has a roof top terrace looking out over the park which is perfect to grab a few pics. A lovely day out and more than enough to do for a full day.
