Take a detour from Kuanzhai Alley to Xiaotong Alley on your Chengdu Citywalk.
☕Chengdu's "slow life" is well-known, and many people's first stop is Kuanzhai Alley. However, Xiaotong Alley, just one street away from Kuanzhai Alley, is one of the original "slow life" alleys in Chengdu. Located in the heart of the city, this alley is a microcosm of Chengdu's laid-back and gentle temperament, and one of the most artistic streets.
🚶♂️How to explore:
1️⃣ Old houses with gray tiles and green bricks, courtyard walls covered with vines, and coffee shops under the shade of jacaranda trees... these elements form the main backdrop of this street.
2️⃣ This old street, less than 200 meters long, not only has the simple charm of traditional Chuanxi dwellings but also incorporates the dynamic atmosphere of modern art.
3️⃣ The alley hides countless treasure troves. Slow down and you'll discover little surprises hidden within, like various grocery stores, coffee shops, and antique stores.
4️⃣ Compared to the bustling Kuanzhai Alley next door, Xiaotong Alley is quieter and has a more artistic vibe. Burning incense, tasting tea, reading a book, or simply doing nothing and sitting under an old tree in a daze—Chengdu's slow life is that simple.
5️⃣ The graffiti wall in Xiaotong Alley is also a must-see, and these are all masterpieces by elementary school students from the surrounding area.
