Wuyi Mountain|A Long-Awaited Visit!
My knowledge of Wuyi Mountain has always been limited to it being a famous tea-producing region in China. I never realized that besides its renowned black tea, green tea, and Da Hong Pao, it is also such a magnificent scenic spot where you can spend an entire day. 👍
There are two-day tours available from Quanzhou. Spending a night in such a fresh-air environment and then visiting a tea garden to taste some tea 🍵 sounds absolutely perfect ❤️
Climbing from the foot of the mountain to the top takes about three to four hours. The slope is a bit steep, which can be tiring for your legs 🦵 and make you short of breath, but if you take it slow and take photos along the way, it's not too bad. There are also vending stalls in the scenic area where you can rest and enjoy some grilled sausages 🈵
Reaching the highest point before you're completely exhausted, you'll forget all your fatigue at that moment. If the weather is good, you can even take more beautiful photos. Wuyi Mountain is truly amazing and highly recommended. 👍

Hiking Da Hong Pao trail at Wuyi Mountain 🏔
Walking Da Hong Pao to Water Curtain Cave must be included in the TO-DO list of activities to try during your visit in Fuzhou The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 2 to 3 hours. This place is surrounded just with nature and fresh air. There are many trail options which are serene, peaceful, not crowded, lush green and an easy to hike. Get ready to see tea fields making the place lush and green. If you are not use to long walks uphill It’s best to bring hiking poles for the journey to save your knees. You can do this trail slowly at your own pace In that case should take 4 hours to complete the journey.

Getting There - plane, bus
Attractions - Wuyishan National Park
Hotels - There is a small town nearby with many hotels.
Food & Restaurants - lots of restaurants in local town
Wuyishan is a must see! When we went in summer, it was hot but luckily it wasn’t crowded. At some points, it felt like we had the park to ourselves. You can take a bamboo raft down the crystal blue river — don’t be too tempted to dive in!
There is a small town nearby with plenty of hotels. Our host was extremely friendly to us and helped us talk to customer service to buy a 2 day pass (make sure you buy a 2 day ticket! The 1 day ticket is almost the same cost, but the park definitely takes about 2 days if you want to make the most of it).
Wuyishan is in Fujian Province.

Wuyishan is absolutely breathtaking. We went there over Tomb sweeping holiday, and the price to go into the park was maybe a bit higher because of the holiday (¥365 for 3 days), but there is so much to do outside, that i don't think it's neccesary to go in.
I would highly recommend Wuyishan for a little break from the city, to relax and refresh your soul.

Wuyishan Jiuqu Stream Bamboo Rafting.
Wuyishan Jiuqu Stream Bamboo Rafting is a must-do activity when visiting Wuyishan. Locals say that if you don't take a bamboo raft, you haven't really been to Wuyishan.
Jiuqu Stream flows through Xingcun Town in Wuyishan City, from west to east through Wuyishan, passing through the valleys of the Wuyishan peaks, and joins the Chongyang Stream near Wuyi Palace. The stream twists and turns nine times, hence the name.
We sat on a raft on Jiuqu Stream, drifting along the stream, and easily enjoyed the thirty-six peaks on both sides of the stream without climbing the mountain. We enjoyed the magnificent Danxia landform of Wuyishan in the clear water and red mountains, and took in the beautiful scenery of Wuyishan. The experience is amazing. Wuyishan Jiuqu Stream

Enchanting Landscapes and Tranquil Waters: A Journey Through Wuyi Mountain
#goingplaces
Wuyi Mountain is a stunning blend of lush forests, clear rivers, and unique rock formations, creating an atmosphere of natural serenity. Known for its iconic Nine-Bend River, I enjoyed a bamboo raft ride down the winding waters, surrounded by misty peaks and emerald-green hills—a truly peaceful experience.
Exploring the mountain’s trails, I discovered hidden temples and ancient tea trees, with the scent of Wuyi’s famous oolong tea filling the air. One of the highlights was Tianyou Peak, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the valley and river below, especially beautiful in the soft morning light.
Wuyi Mountain is a paradise for nature lovers and tea enthusiasts alike, capturing the essence of China’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. It’s a place that leaves you feeling refreshed and inspired.

Wuyishan is more than just Tianyou Peak! Check out these places.
-
Have you read all the guides to Wuyishan and still only know about Tianyou Peak? Most people who haven't been to Wuyishan have done their research, but there are two free, less crowded, and beautiful places worth visiting before you leave.
P1-P4 Wuyi Palace
Located at the foot of Dawang Peak, the recommended route is: Wuyi Palace ➡️ Wanchun Garden ➡️ Guanyutai ➡️ Zhizhian ➡️ Song Street ➡️ Wuyi Spring and Autumn Pavilion. Zhizhian is a Taoist temple dating back to the Song Dynasty, and its motto "Stop when you should, go when you should" is full of life philosophy. Wuyi Palace is full of beautiful scenery and photo spots, with the gentle and romantic charm of Jiangnan. Song Street is full of shops, perfect for recharging your energy. Try a Wuyishan Da Hong Pao ice cream.
P5-P9 Baiyun Zen Temple
This temple is a pleasant surprise. It is located on the top of a mountain, but it is not difficult to climb, and you can reach the top in 30 minutes. The foot of the mountain is full of tea trees, and the surrounding tea mountains are filled with a fresh aroma in the humid air. The mossy path is already very popular, and the dense moss and narrow, steep path require caution. The open-air platform offers a wide view. Although it was cloudy when I visited, the misty clouds were beautiful.
🚗Transportation:
Both places are recommended for self-driving. The roads are easy to drive, and there are dedicated parking lots.
If you don't want to visit crowded attractions, see the same old Wuyishan scenery, or have extra time, you can visit these two easily overlooked places and experience a different Wuyishan.

A Journey Through the Meandering Paths and Danxia Wonders of Wuyi Mountain
Wuyi Mountain, a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, boasts magnificent Danxia landforms and rich cultural heritage, making it one of the most unforgettable places on my trip. The mountain and water are intertwined, with the meandering Nine-Bend Creek flowing through. As you drift downstream on a bamboo raft, the red Danxia cliffs and lush green peaks on both sides unfold like a painting, making you feel as if you are in a fairyland. Each bend reveals a different scenery, leaving you in awe.
Tianyou Peak in Wuyi Mountain is an excellent vantage point. After climbing to the top, you can overlook the entire Nine-Bend Creek, where the stream and peaks intertwine to form a three-dimensional natural painting, bringing a sense of tranquility and joy. The Dahongpao tea area is a paradise for tea culture enthusiasts. Wuyi rock tea, known for its unique aroma and flavor, immerses you in a fragrant atmosphere.
Besides natural scenery, Wuyi Mountain is also one of the birthplaces of Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism. Cultural relics such as Wuyi Palace and Zhuzi Academy add a rich historical and cultural atmosphere to this landscape. Walking on this ancient land, you can feel both the mystery and grandeur of nature and the profoundness of Chinese culture.
The beauty of Wuyi Mountain lies in its diversity. Whether you enjoy hiking, rafting, or have an interest in history and culture, you will find your joy here. Every scene is like a poem or a painting, deeply touching the heart of every visitor.

Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area.
Located in the northern part of Fujian Province, Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area is a typical Danxia landform, known for its unique and rare natural landscape and profound cultural landscape. In 1982, it was listed as the first batch of national key scenic spots, and in 1999, it was listed as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. On September 30, 2021, the State Council approved the establishment of Wuyi Mountain National Park, which has become an important window to show the beautiful China to the world.
Wuyi Mountain is not only beautiful, but also a famous cultural mountain with a long history. It has been known as "Minbang Zoulu" since ancient times. It gathers the culture of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. For thousands of years, the three religions have lived in harmony and co-prosperity. Wuyi Mountain is also the source of world tea, especially the origin of Dahongpao, which has created a profound tea culture.
Wuyi Mountain has rich tourism resources, including famous scenic spots such as Jiuquxi, Tianyou Peak, Yixiantian, Yunnv Peak, Dahongpao, and Shuilian Cave. Tourists can also experience bamboo raft drifting in Jiuquxi, feeling the tranquility and beauty between mountains and rivers. In addition, Wuyi Mountain's tea, bamboo shoots and other specialties are also often purchased by tourists as souvenirs.
The best time to travel to Wuyi Mountain is spring and autumn, especially in April and May. This is the season for making tea, and the mountains are full of tea fragrance. At the end of October and November, the climate is cool, which is also a beautiful season. The accommodation in Wuyi Mountain is mainly concentrated in Nanyuanling and Sangu Resort, each with its own characteristics.
When traveling to Wuyi Mountain, it is recommended to travel freely, make a strategy in advance, and avoid the peak period of people flow. At the same time, the weather in spring and autumn is changeable, so it is recommended to bring thick clothes in case of need. The food in Wuyi Mountain is also an experience not to be missed in the trip, such as red-eyed fish, bamboo shoots, small river fish and other special dishes.
In a word, Wuyi Mountain is a tourist resort integrating natural scenery and historical culture. Whether it is mountain climbing and exploration, or tea tasting and sightseeing, it can leave unforgettable memories for tourists.

The mountains and rivers are picturesque, and Wuyi is the best in the world.
The southeast is the most beautiful place, and this place is the most boastful.
Nine bends and one stream, the emperor Zhu's family.
The white clouds are beautiful under your feet, and the clear spring tea on the stone.
See Taoyuan again, drifting as much as hemp.
Wuyi Mountain National Park has implemented a free ticket policy for several years. The current ticket price is 70 yuan/person for a one-day tour; 85 yuan/person for a two-day tour; 95 yuan/person for a three-day tour (only the cost of transportation in the scenic area). In addition, the bamboo raft ticket for Nine Bends Creek is 130 yuan/person.
Because the scenic area is very large, it is necessary to take a transportation vehicle. I asked the local taxi driver when this free ticket policy might disappear. He said it was not worth mentioning, because there seemed to be not many tourists even if the tickets were free. It seems that the National Day holiday did not bring too many tourists.
There are six core attractions in the scenic area, namely Yixiantian, Huxiaoyan, Yunnvfeng, Tianyoufeng, Wuyigong, and Dahongpao. Among them, Yixiantian, Huxiaoyan and Yunnvfeng are on the same route. Huxiaoyan Mountain is high and steep, and you can see the white pheasant on the road, like a divine bird flying. Yunnvfeng feels a bit of a number.
According to my personal opinion, the best scenic spot is Tianyoufeng. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the Nine Bends Creek at the foot of the mountain twists and turns.

You must experience the bamboo raft on Nine Bend River
Wuyi Mountain is known as "It's a waste of time if you don't take a bamboo raft". The whole journey is about 9.5km, and it takes 1.5 hours. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nine Bend River all the way.
·
The ticket is CNY130 per person. There are 8 people in a boat. Tourists need to form a group of 8 people to enter the dock and take the boat.
The explanation fee is CNY20 per person, which is voluntary. It is paid separately to the boatman and needs the unanimous consent of all the people in the boat. The boatman is humorous and can create a lively atmosphere, but the explanation content is not nutritious, just saying what the stone looks like. However, if you pay the explanation fee, you can row slowly, and the boatman will help you take pictures. The main thing is that since you are here, it's good to listen to it!
·
1️⃣The water flow on the bamboo raft is not large, you can wear sports shoes on the boat;
2️⃣Pay attention to sun protection. I took the earliest bamboo raft at 8 o'clock in the morning, and it was still very sunny. Be sure to take sun protection measures. You can use an umbrella on the bamboo raft;
3️⃣You can buy fish food to feed the fish. There are many white fish and red-eyed fish in the stream. It's interesting to feed the fish.

Wuyishan Travel Guide (General) - 5A Scenic Area Recommended by National Geographic.
🚄About High-speed Rail:
Wuyishan has 2 high-speed rail stations. One is Wuyishan North Station. The other is Nanping City Station.
There are only buses or Didi available at the North Station exit. As it is closer to the city center, there are more traffic lights🚦
There is a K1 express bus at the Nanping City Station exit. Alternatively, you can take the light rail🚈
Personally, I recommend purchasing tickets to Nanping City Station if possible.
If you want convenient travel during holidays in Wuyishan, you can also choose a car rental service🚗

I regret not visiting this hidden gem sooner, which was featured in National Geographic.
I regret not visiting this hidden gem sooner, which was featured in National Geographic.
I found a hidden gem near Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was featured in National Geographic. Wuyi Mountain is definitely worth a visit! Plus, admission is now free!
When you step into the fairyland of Wuyi Mountain, you can only hear the whispers of nature. It's as if it's telling you to take a break when you're tired. After a rain, the oxygen-rich journey begins. In the early morning, the mountains are shrouded in mist, like a fairyland. The distant mountains are like landscape paintings. Take a bamboo raft and drift along the river, passing through the misty valleys. The beauty of the Ten-Mile Gallery is comparable to the landscape of Guilin! If you like traveling, leisure, photography, and checking in, you won't be disappointed here.

From Nanping to Wuyi Mountain by light rail🚈 only costs 10 yuan💰, about 30 minutes, and the bus🚌 from Wuyi Mountain North Station to the scenic area entrance
2️⃣ Wuyi Mountain Airport✈️ is also very convenient (didi or bus🚌)
About the route🗺️
1️⃣ You must try bamboo rafting. My first picture was taken there. The emerald green spring water, riding on a bamboo raft, it's best to give the master a 10 yuan tip, then he will tell stories and some origins along the way
2️⃣ Follow the scenic area to tour Tianyou Peak - One Line Sky - Tiger Roar Rock - finally to Wuyi Palace - Song Street (you can replenish some supplies there, you can eat and drink🥤)
3️⃣ Baiyun Zen Temple is also worth a visit along the way. When I went there, it was in November, the weather was just right, wearing a shirt felt slightly warm. The environment and greenery of Wuyi Mountain are really good, it feels like it moisturizes the skin.
⚠️Notes
Wear a pair of comfortable shoes (for climbing🧗♀️)
Bring some water and food (a little bit is fine)
Check tickets online in advance🎫 (so you don't have to queue)
🍚Food recommendations
If you encounter specialty dishes on the street, you must try them
Wuyi Mountain is close to Jiangxi
The dishes are relatively rich (a bit spicy, I love it)
Things like yeast light cake, Zixi powder, bamboo shoots, are all very delicious
If you have the chance, you should also watch the Dahongpao performance (directed by Zhang Yimou)
