The drive from Chongqing city to Wulong takes more than 3 hours. If you don't want to rush a one-day trip, taking the first/last train for a special forces-like itinerary can be a bit tiring. I took the high-speed train to Wulong Station, then took the scenic area shuttle bus (¥10) to the scenic area. I stayed overnight in Wulong (there are many accommodations around ¥100 and specialty restaurants in front of the scenic area, very convenient), spending more time to leisurely explore the next day. Several karst landscape scenic areas in Wulong are listed as World Heritage sites. The Three Natural Bridges scenic area became more famous due to the filming of 'Curse of the Golden Flower' and 'Transformers 4'. The Three Natural Bridges + Longshuixia Fissure (ticket includes transfer bus and elevator ¥210) involve walking through canyons to admire the karst landscape. The Three Natural Bridges is a canyon with two tiankengs and three bridges. Hiking about 4 kilometers in the canyon surrounded by towering cliffs forming tiankengs and three natural stone bridge caves is surprisingly flat and easy to walk. However, Longshuixia Fissure involves walking up and down a narrow creek valley. Although it's only a 2-kilometer journey, the rainy and slippery stone steps require careful walking. The scenic area opens at 8:30 AM, and it takes about 5 hours to leisurely walk through both scenic areas. Then take the scenic area shuttle bus (¥10) to Wulong Station, and take the high-speed train back to Chongqing city.

However, summer is the peak season, and 11 o'clock is the peak time for crowds, so it is possible that the elevator queue will be longer, which requires flexible response. Try not to be too late when exiting Tiankeng, and try not to give up Difeng (ticket inspection stops at 16:30), because Difeng and Tiankeng have different styles. We booked 3 rooms at the hotel and was amazed that we found such a gem in the middle of nowhere. The hotel was very hard to find as it does not show in Trip advisor or any other web booking site. I was able to find it by pure luck and was so happy with our stay. The hotel still looks really brand new, and the room was really amazing! It was so clean, modern, and the beds were really comfortable. Prior to our stay, I purposely called in to ask them to assign us for 3 rooms of double beds. They said that they were out, but will keep a note. But surprisingly, a day before we checked in, the front desk called (not sure of her name.. I think it was Li) and said that the specifically remember that I requested for the double beds. And they have availability, so they switched us to that rooms. It was great! My family had a better restful nights. Another thing was they have game room area, which is actually a hit with my son. He was so happy and he played the car endurance game a lot and said that it was his best game ever! Though there are many things good, there are few things that they need to improve. The breakfast area was becoming very chinese dining compared to a higher class western standard restaurant. Server was not picking up plates quick enough and food was not filled in time by the cooks. And when we asked whether they'll add the new forks, they just pointed yeah, it's coming. They're not too keen in their service. But overall, food quality is ok. The extra bed we had was not good as the hotel folded all their beds, all of their spring beds has permanent damage. So it was quite painful for my son to sleep in it. But on second night we added blankets to make it softer and I guess it was better. Overall, comparing to all hotels in Wulong area, I'd say that guests should pick this hotel to stay in Wulong area. Its a 5 star hotel facility and hopefully they continue to manage it well after the transfer of ownership. Hotel is also only 10 minutes away from the Karst entrance. So its a pretty good location.

I took my parents on a one-day trip to Wulong on the weekend. Our first attraction was the Wujiang Gallery. We took some photos of the Wujiang River (Fuling section) on the bridge. The Wujiang River rushes from west to east, which is pleasing to the eye. The river flows gently, the mountains are green and shady, and the river and the mountains complement each other, like a landscape painting. Therefore, Wujiang River is known as "A Thousand Miles of Wujiang River, a Hundred Miles of Art Gallery". The second attraction is the Longshuixia Ground Crack, which takes 2 hours and is the most tiring attraction because it is all climbing up and down stairs, but the scenery is really nice. The developed section from Tianjingxia Bridge to Huitoushi in the fissure is about 5 kilometers long, and there is a plank road from Luojiaping down to the fissure, forming a loop. There are numerous scenic spots, many strange caves and shafts, and countless legends. The rocks on both sides of the road are of various shapes and sizes. On the rock walls, the jungle blocks out the sun and looks dense and gloomy. After exiting the crevice, there is a scenic bus back to the entrance, which is very convenient. The last attraction is the Three Natural Bridges, which takes 3 hours. You first walk for a while and then queue up to take the revolving elevator down to the bottom. After the next flight of stairs is the Tianlong Bridge. (This section of stairs is very long and really tiring. Older people or children can pay to ride a sedan chair). Wulong Tiankeng has three natural bridges, namely Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge and Heilong Bridge, and two large cenotes, Tianlong and Shenying. The cenotes are connected by natural bridge holes and separated by cenotes, forming a geological wonder of "three bridges sandwiched between two cenotes". Its scale and grandeur are unique in the world. It happened to be drizzling from time to time that day, so the mountains were shrouded in clouds and mist, which made it even more artistic. Among them, the Tianfuguan Posthouse scenic spot is the filming location of "Curse of the Golden Flower", and the ancient post station is also left in the pit. If you are physically able, you can climb up to the observation deck and take a complete picture of Tianfuguanyi from above. It is recommended to visit both attractions together. The advantage of Difeng is that it is cool, almost like entering the underground, offering a very unique experience. It was also formed by water erosion over time. The scenic area has everything: canyons, waterfalls, forests, strange rocks, and boardwalks. The normal tour time is about 1 hour, with no backtracking, as there is only one path to the end. 🚥 Transportation: There are direct buses from the main urban area to the scenic spot. Wulong also has a train station, but there are limited departures from Chongqing each day, so remember to buy tickets in advance. 🏨 Food and Accommodation: There is no food available inside the scenic area, only small shops and local specialties at the exit. 🏨 Longshuixia Ground Fissure 🌟Highlights: Located in Xiannvshan Town, Wulong District, Chongqing, it is a part of Wulong Karst Tourist Area and a typical karst landform landscape formed by the orogenic movement tens of millions of years ago. The canyon is 5 kilometers long and 200-500 meters deep. The mountains, steep ridges, canyons and flowing water in the scenic area together form a perfect landscape painting. 🗓Itinerary: 1. Watch the Yinhe Falls The Yinhe Falls is the most beautiful waterfall in the Longshui Gorge. It falls straight down from a hundred-meter-high cliff, like a huge silver curtain. It is simply a miniature version of "The Milky Way Falls from the Sky". The waterfall has a height difference of 80 meters and is generally 2-3 meters wide. When there is sufficient water in summer, the width of the waterfall can reach 6-8 meters. When the waterfall hits the big rocks, it will make a deafening sound. Listening to the majestic momentum of the water and feeling the coolness of the valley, it is an ideal summer resort in the hot summer. Less than 3 hours from Chongqing ( recommend 1 day trip ) Getting There - I booked a tour on Ctrip for 428 yuan and pay extra for 2 entrance at 48 yuan. The driver drop me off at the gate and pickup me at the last exist, free roaming time. I think the 2 entrance worth it because I experienced glass bridge, no people wait for the rotating elevator and walk through a beautiful path with very few people. Attractions - Wulong Tiankeng Three Bridges - Longshuixia Gorge - Wulong Tiansheng Sanqiao Glass Terrace ( 2 entrance ) Food & Restaurants - not so many restaurant inside the park.
