Wufengxi Ancient Town is built along the river , and the end of the river is Tuojiang, which becomes another place to play in the water in summer.
You can take a boat along the river to play in the water, or find a tea house 🍵 to stop by, drink tea, and enjoy the breeze. The streets are not heavily commercialized, and there are many snacks 🍉 along the way. Tengjiao 🌶, Mayak 🥚, Huangbao eggs, and sugar oil cakes are the specialties there (because many shops sell them).
From time to time, freight trains 🚂 rumble across Shangyi Bridge, and you can also capture the train and the cruise ship 🚢 in the same frame. There are also local specialties (crabs 🦀, pickles, seasonal fruits 🍎) sold by locals near the bridge.
You can take a boat at the pier, hang wishing red ropes on the suspension bridge, and visit the photogenic Temple of Heaven . You can worship Guan Gong at the Guan Sheng Palace. You can leisurely stroll around for half a day.

Last winter, I was attracted by the sweet potatoes and oranges of Wufengxi Ancient Town. I found that the fruits and vegetables sold here are cheap and delicious, so we come here to shop every now and then. Maybe because of the season, there were not many vendors selling things today, mostly peaches and watermelons, and some scattered vegetables. I bought some peaches for 4 yuan per jin, and they tasted good, much cheaper than in the city.

Wufengxi Ancient Town, named after Wufeng Town, is located on the banks of the Tuo River in the middle section of the Longquan Mountain Range, within Jintang County of Chengdu, 48 kilometers from Chengdu. The town is named for the five prominent peaks that rise steeply from north to south to east, resembling soaring phoenixes when viewed from afar. The five ancient streets are also named after the phoenixes: Jinfeng, Qingfeng, Yufeng, Baifeng, and Xiaofeng. By the mid-Qing Dynasty, Wufengxi Ancient Town had already become the number one water port in Western Sichuan, with a profound culture of trade and immigration. Wufengxi Ancient Town is located on the bank of the Tuojiang River in Jintang County, Chengdu, 48 kilometers away from Chengdu. It is located in the middle of the Longquan Mountain Range. Because the mountain peaks resemble phoenixes, and the highest peaks are five, hence the name.
Wufengxi was already an important wharf on the upper reaches of the Tuojiang River during the Han and Tang Dynasties. By the middle of the Qing Dynasty, there were four ferry crossings, Zhalu Crossing, Mingyang Crossing, Jinniu Crossing, and Luoba Crossing, continuously transporting grains and handicrafts from western Sichuan to Chongqing, and then transporting salt, fruits and foreign goods from Chongqing, Yibin, and Luzhou, and then transported to Chengdu 50 kilometers away for sale through mountain roads.

Wufengxi Ancient Town is the hometown of Mr. He Lin, a master of Neo-Confucianism in China, known as the 'Father of Eastern Hegel'. He Lin is a famous philosopher, historian of philosophy, Hegel research expert, translator, and educator in China; he is the founder of 'New Neo-Confucianism' and one of the representative figures of contemporary Neo-Confucianism.
