Baita Mountain is located in Lanzhou City, adjacent to the famous Zhongshan Bridge. The front of the mountain is the mother river, the Yellow River. The altitude here is said to be around 1,700, but climbing from the bottom of the city to the top of the mountain is not as hard as I expected. I estimate that this number counts the city's original elevation. According to the practice of the day, if a young man climbs, he can climb from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain in less than half an hour. Although the slope is a bit steep, it is not too hard overall. If you are driving, you can drive from the trail of the mountain to the mountainside platform. Then walk 5 minutes to the White Pagoda!
From the value of play, the elements that Baitashan can play are not too many. Baitashan Park became a landmark in Lanzhou, and foreign tourists rushed to punch cards. This also shows that this place has its own uniqueness. Then I made a summary, on the Baita Mountain, you can at least play like this!
1: Enjoy the scenery. This is the primary purpose of climbing Baita Mountain. In the mountains, you can overlook the entire Lanzhou city. At the foot of the river is the rapid flow of the Yellow River, and the small Zhongshan Bridge. Lanzhou is an important city in the northwest, the capital of Gansu, and its beauty may be rough. But when you climb the Baita Mountain, if you encounter the sunset, Lanzhou at this time also has its own soft side. So if you want to see the scenery of Lanzhou, or shoot a big city movie, you can't miss it in Baitashan!
2: Appreciation. White Pagoda on Baita Mountain, White Tower in Baita Temple. Yes, it is because of this white tower that the name of Baita Mountain and Baita Temple. The history of this white pagoda can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. Around 1228 AD, in order to commemorate the death of a Mongolian lama who went to Mongolia to meet Genghis Khan. The most impressive part of the tower is the regular window of the tower that houses the buddha statues. It feels both mysterious and sacred. The Baita Tower is quite normal in style. It is a traditional Chinese ancient tower type. Although it is not amazing, it is at least very classic!
3: Shoot. To Baita Mountain, there are not many tourists who will take the camera and shoot some beautiful materials. Whether it is the White Tower or the whole picture of Lanzhou City, it is the material that everyone is happy to create. I also share some of my shooting experience here. 1) You can fly a drone in Baita Mountain, but you must pay attention to safety. After all, it is in the city, and interference is everywhere. If you can't come back if you fly far, you can only mourn for you. 2) The time to photograph the city is about 8 o'clock. Because the sunset in the northwest is relatively late, you can check the sunset time of the day in advance and arrange the seats about half an hour earlier. And Lanzhou is more likely to have a sunset glow. If you have a sunset, your photos will be much more exciting. 3) Take a closer look at the white tower body. Here I suggest using a drone to fly close to the details of the Buddha image. Because my flying skills are not good, I don't dare to be too close. If you have good technology, or if you are currently introducing a zoomable model, you can make the Buddha statue bigger and clearer. These Buddha statues are full of vicissitudes of life, a testimony to history and extraordinary significance!

Strolling along the Yellow River, feeling the charm of Lanzhou, the 109th day of self-driving around China.
July 1, 2023, the 109th day of self-driving around China, playing in Lanzhou for two days. Lanzhou, a dazzling pearl embedded at the junction of the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is famous for its unique geographical location, long history and culture, and magnificent natural scenery. It is not only an important node on the ancient Silk Road, but also the only provincial capital city where the Yellow River flows through the city, giving the city endless spirituality and charm.
The beauty of Lanzhou, first and foremost, is the Yellow River. The Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese nation, exhibits both majestic and delicate features in the Lanzhou section. Along the two banks of the river, mountains rise and fall, trees grow lush, and the rushing Yellow River water complements each other, forming a breathtaking landscape painting. When night falls, the two banks of the Yellow River are brightly lit, with colorful lights reflected on the water surface, as if countless stars have fallen into the mortal world, making people feel like they are in a dreamland.
The Yellow River Riverside Road is the essence of Lanzhou's riverside landscape. This route connects many attractions such as White Pagoda Mountain, Waterwheel Expo Park, and Yellow River Mother Sculpture, each of which contains profound historical and cultural heritage and unique natural beauty. Here, you can take a sheepskin raft to drift on the Yellow River and experience an ancient way of crossing the river; you can also climb White Pagoda Mountain and overlook the entire Lanzhou city, feeling the ambition of "Standing on the top of the mountain, overlooking all the mountains".
The Yellow River Mother Sculpture is a landmark of Lanzhou. The mother's image has flowing hair and a kind expression. Her body is slender and her curves are graceful. She smiles slightly and lies on the waves, giving people a warm and touching feeling. The baby is cute and cuddly, nestled in the mother's arms, symbolizing the Chinese nation growing up in the embrace of the mother river. Sunlight shines, and the golden light flows slowly on the sculpture, as if adding a touch of sacredness and warmth to the picture.
White Pagoda Mountain Park is located on the north side of Zhongshan Bridge, Lanzhou, Gansu Province, on the north bank of the Yellow River, with an altitude of over 1,700 meters, which is the natural barrier of Lanzhou. Taking a cable car to White Pagoda Mountain, the moment the cable car crosses the Yellow River, it will make your heart surge. The White Pagoda Temple in the park was first built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. It is the landmark building of White Pagoda Mountain Park. The white pagoda is located in the center, with eight sides and seven levels, about 17 meters high. The whole body is white, tall and beautiful. Each level and corner has a carved dragon head with a wind chime hanging below, which flutters in the wind, with a clear and crisp sound. The white pagoda and the iron bridge on the Yellow River form a magnificent picture, becoming one of the symbols of Lanzhou. Take a walk on the forest path, enjoy the natural scenery, overlook the city of Lanzhou, and feel the hustle and bustle of the city.
The construction of Lanzhou Zhongshan Iron Bridge began in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It spans the Yellow River and is one of the landmark buildings of Lanzhou. It not only witnessed the vicissitudes of Lanzhou, but also became an important link connecting the two banks and communicating the past and present. Walking on the bridge, under your feet is the rolling Yellow River water, and in front of your eyes is the bustling city scene on both sides. A sense of pride surges in your heart.
In addition, Lanzhou is also a city of food. Numerous snack stalls and restaurants built along the river attract visitors from all over the world with their authentic Lanzhou beef noodles, hand-grabbed mutton, and sweet rice wine. Here, tasting a bowl of steaming beef noodles is not only an ultimate temptation for your taste buds, but also a profound experience of the city's culture.
In short, Lanzhou, with its unique Yellow River scenery, rich history and culture, tempting delicacies, and hospitable people, presents a series of colorful pictures to the world. Whether strolling along the Yellow River or wandering in the long river of history, you can feel the unique charm and flavor of this city.

Lanzhou's prime attraction is Baita Mountain, and the centerpiece of Baita Mountain is the White Pagoda Temple
Looking up from the banks of the Yellow River, Baita Mountain is very spectacular, and the night view with lights on is even more beautiful.
After experiencing wars and earthquakes, the statues in the White Pagoda Temple have been relocated to the Fayu Temple below. The only remaining structure is the white pagoda itself, along with some surviving houses, steles, and a release pond, losing its function as a temple.
Besides the white pagoda, the White Pagoda Temple also has the 'Three Treasures': the elephant skin drum, the bronze bell, and the Bauhinia tree, all of which have rich stories and history.
After visiting the White Pagoda Temple, you should head towards the cableway. There are many attractions along the way, and you can see many Lanzhou citizens having picnics and gatherings under the shade of trees and on the lawns.
The road to the cableway is not short, and the sun is very scorching. In the end, I had to give up visiting the Stele Museum, which was a pity because the photos looked very nice. In the end, I could only take a distant photo as a souvenir.
However, there were far fewer people at the upper cableway station than at the lower station. When passing by the lower station, I took a photo; the queue extended far beyond the ticket hall.

Exploring Lanzhou Baita Mountain Park: A Feast of Nature and Culture
Exploring Lanzhou Baita Mountain Park: A Feast of Nature and Culture
Lanzhou, a city through which the Yellow River flows, exudes a unique charm. Among its many attractions, Baita Mountain Park stands out like a shining gem, drawing countless visitors to explore its wonders.
As I stepped into Baita Mountain Park, it felt like entering an isolated paradise. Before me lay a lush green landscape, with undulating mountains and verdant trees, starkly contrasting with the surrounding barren scenery. This place is a precious gift from nature to Lanzhou.
Walking along the winding paths, a series of well-arranged buildings came into view. Each structure seemed to tell a historical story, filled with rich ethnic flavor. The vibrant colors, set against the backdrop of green mountains and trees, appeared particularly striking yet harmoniously blended, like a meticulously painted picture.
The willow trees by the roadside resembled elegant dancers, their slender branches swaying gracefully in the wind, bringing a refreshing coolness. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground, as if nature's hand had crafted an artistic pattern.
Passing through the forest and heading towards the mountain top, it wasn't long before I stood at the park's highest point. Gazing out, the Yellow River surged like a mighty dragon, its majestic and grand momentum stirring one's emotions. Across the river, the bustling cityscape unfolded, with skyscrapers standing in rows and busy streets showcasing the vitality of a modern metropolis.
In the pavilion atop the mountain, closing my eyes, I felt the gentle caress of the breeze and listened to the roaring of the Yellow River, as if conversing with the heavens and the earth. Time seemed to lose its meaning here, and everything became so serene and beautiful.
As night fell, Baita Mountain Park was adorned with lights, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. The dazzling lights and the stars in the sky complemented each other, enchanting visitors and making them reluctant to leave.
Lanzhou Baita Mountain Park is both a masterpiece of nature and a treasure of culture. It carries the memories of history and showcases the charm of the city. Come here to embark on a journey of the soul and immerse yourself in this unparalleled beauty.

How to enjoy summer in Lanzhou? This guide is worth reading
🔅Lanzhou, the only city in China where the Yellow River flows through, is named Jincheng, meaning 'Golden City,' and has been a crucial transportation hub since ancient times. In the Qin Dynasty, Yuzhong County was established here; in the Western Han Dynasty, it became Jincheng County; in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was Jincheng Commandery; and during the Sixteen Kingdoms period, the Western Qin Dynasty made Lanzhou its capital.
🔅Due to its rich heritage, Lanzhou retains abundant historical relics, making it an excellent place to experience the charm of Jincheng. Below, I will share a historical tour route in Lanzhou that can be completed in 1-2 days.
⛰️Itinerary:
Day 1: Jintian Temple--Baiyun Temple--City God Temple--Lanzhou Museum--Zhongshan Bridge--Baita Mountain Park
Day 2: Gansu Provincial Museum--Mother Yellow River Statue
I personally recommend spending one and a half or two days on this route, especially taking a good half-day to slowly appreciate the Gansu Provincial Museum.
🔅What are the highlights?
✅Jintian Temple:
Many friends traveling to Lanzhou do not include this place in their travel list, but I personally think that although it is niche, it is worth seeing. Firstly, it is a national key cultural relic protection unit, housing three ancient Sophora trees from the Tang Dynasty and the Bixue Stele from the 16th year of the Ming Chongzhen era, recording the history of General He Jin of Li Zicheng's army attacking Lanzhou.
Secondly, the entire site has very few tourists, mostly locals resting and chatting here, making it a place where you can discover the local life of Lanzhou.
✅Baiyun Temple:
This is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in Gansu, built during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty by the then Governor of Shaanxi and Gansu, Hu Song'e, using his salary. It is also one of the three ancient temples in Lanzhou.
Today, the temple is bustling with incense, and you can see the strong cultural beliefs of Lanzhou inside the temple.
✅Lanzhou City God Temple:
Also a national key cultural relic protection unit, it was built in the 7th year of the Jin Mingchang era. It was once the Loyal Martyrs' Hall and later converted into the City God Temple. Today, it preserves Qing Dynasty stone lions, Ming and Qing style wooden archways, bell and drum towers, offering halls, main halls, and sleeping palaces.
✅Lanzhou Museum:
Like the Gansu Provincial Museum, it is also a national first-class museum, but it is much quieter in comparison. However, there are many highlights. Firstly, the courtyard of the Lanzhou Museum houses a White-Clad Temple Pagoda, an ancient pagoda from the Ming Dynasty with a lower part in the shape of an overturned bowl and an upper part in the Han style. Many relics related to Princess Xiong of Suwang were unearthed here.
Many of these are housed in the Lanzhou Museum, such as gold hairpins, jewelry, and Buddha statues.
Key artifacts to focus on: Black and white colored water wave pattern pottery dou, Kui swirl pattern bronze he, gold filigree inlaid jade Guanyin hairpin, Western Xia script bronze seal, lion knob xu-shaped furnace with the character 'Wang,' Banpo type painted pottery, etc.
✅Zhongshan Bridge:
This is a must-see landmark for travelers to Lanzhou and the first bridge in the entire northwest region of China built with foreign technology in modern history. It spans the Yellow River and is very imposing.
✅Baita Mountain Park:
After crossing Zhongshan Bridge, you can climb the mountain. The mountain is not high, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the top, where there is a white pagoda built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. The octagonal seven-story white pagoda is similar in style to the White-Clad Temple Pagoda in the Lanzhou Museum.
From the top of the mountain, you can also get a panoramic view of Lanzhou city, including the Yellow River, city buildings, iron bridge, and mountains.
✅Gansu Provincial Museum:
Finally, don't miss the heavyweight Gansu Provincial Museum, which houses many national treasures and is worth spending half a day to appreciate slowly.
Key artifacts are listed here: Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow (Bronze Galloping Horse), Blue Lotus Cup, murals and statues from Tiantishan Grottoes, painted pottery, bronze chariot and horse procession, painted wooden unicorn, Eastern Roman deity-patterned gilded silver plate, postman painting brick, and the Eight Banners Tiger Tally.
Indeed, compared to Xi'an, another city in the northwest, Lanzhou's tourism resources are not as abundant, but the recommended treasure travel destinations above are equally worth visiting for cultural travel enthusiasts.

Stay true to authenticity! A budget-friendly yet lazy tour of Lanzhou's Baitashan
Baitashan Park offers superb photo ops of the city and the scenery atop the mountain! Here's a lazy tour guide to Baitashan that's not too tiring but guarantees a lot of fun!
The route starts at Zhongshan Bridge, then turn right after crossing the bridge (do not ascend the mountain) and proceed for 300 meters to the vicinity of Baitashan Tunnel - take a taxi to Lanzhou Stele Forest (the highest point on the mountain, a taxi usually costs around ten yuan, while the cable car seems to be 50 yuan, so taxi is much cheaper) - check in at Stele Forest, then just follow the road down the mountain, there are signs along the way - Baita Temple - finally, follow the steps down the mountain, and you'll arrive back at Zhongshan Bridge!
The advantage of this is that you ascend on the right and descend on the left, saving energy and money! Overall, it's a relatively easy city walk.
For local snacks, you can check out the Yellow River Food Crossing.

Lanzhou, Gansu, China
The Yellow River Iron Bridge The Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge is the first bridge in the entire northwestern region of China to be built with foreign technology in modern history. This special construction background and era make the Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge a key to studying modern history and occupy a unique position in the architectural history of China. As a transportation infrastructure project, the Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge reflects the style, school, and characteristics of architectural art development during the Westernization Movement in China's modern history. At the same time, the transportation process of the materials needed for the construction of the bridge also created a miracle in the history of modern transportation.
Baita Mountain Park Baita Mountain Park is located in the northern part of Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, and is named after the White Pagoda Temple on the top of the mountain. The White Pagoda and the Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge form a majestic and magnificent picture, which is one of the symbols of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. The White Pagoda was originally built during the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty. The temple has a rectangular plan with the White Pagoda in the center. The pagoda has eight sides and seven levels, about seventeen meters high, with a green top, a round base, and a pure white body, tall and graceful. To the south of the pagoda is the three great temple buildings, to the north is the hall of the Cundi Bodhisattva, and to the east and west are several side halls. The White Pagoda combines exquisite architectural structure and superb carving art, showing the intelligence and artistic creativity of ancient working people, and is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese architecture. The temples of Baektopsan..
On a cloudy day in February, the Baitashan Park in Lanzhou was truly a spectacle. Surrounded by vibrant greenery, the mix of modern buildings and ancient landmarks like the White Pagoda was breathtakingly beautiful. Climbing the tower offered an amazing view, and the well-maintained park provided a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place is a special spot that beautifully connects Lanzhou's past and present, perfect for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the charm of the city.
Don't worry about the climb taking too long; take your time and stop by.

Working people travel to a different city every month for a weekend getaway - Lanzhou
Working people travel to a different city every month for a weekend getaway - Lanzhou
Transportation: Zhengzhou to Lanzhou by plane. In the city: choose any from shared bikes/public transport/taxis as distances are short
Lanzhou Airport is about 60km from the city center. The subway runs until 11 pm, and the airport bus operates 24 hours. For tickets, use WeChat 'Lanzhou Airport Bus' or buy directly at the airport exit;
Accommodation: Hanting Hotel. I booked the Dongfanghong Square Wanda City store, which I don't recommend due to the small rooms and outdated equipment. It's more convenient to stay near Xiaoxihu for food, accommodation, and entertainment
Follow a single route for sightseeing, you can directly copy this plan
Day1: Lanzhou Museum - Lanzhou Center - Xiaoxihu - Mother of the Yellow River - White Pagoda Mountain - Lanshan - Dazhong Alley Night Market/Nanguan Night Market - He Yao Huotang
Day2: Wuquan Old Street Morning Market - Dunhuang Art Center - Reader's Museum - Waterwheel Expo Park - Jar Jar Tea (you can choose near Zhongtianjian close to Lanzhou West Station)
Itinerary details:
Book Lanzhou Museum in advance on the official WeChat account, with volunteer explanations available around 10 am. If you want an in-depth visit, reserve about 4 hours. Opposite the museum is the Lanzhou Center, with a local food market behind it; Xiaoxihu/Mother of the Yellow River/White Pagoda Mountain are on the same line, and it takes about 2 hours to walk and visit. White Pagoda Mountain Park is a small hill, and it's recommended to choose between it and Lanshan; for Lanshan, it's recommended to visit during the day and Manhattan at night. You can take a taxi directly up the mountain, and when coming down, you can share a ride for 10 yuan per person, with a visiting time of 1 hour; after coming down from Lanshan, it's time to visit the night market. Nanguan Night Market is more recommended for local food, and there are also some quiet bars and Tibetan bars nearby. If you like lively places, you can go to He Yao Huotang, but be prepared for long queues;

Lanzhou Plan
Lanzhou, the pearl on the bank of the Yellow River, has a long history and profound cultural heritage.
A charming city that boasts both an ancient cultural history and a modern urban landscape.
The only provincial capital city through which the Yellow River flows, it is known as the 'Pearl of the Yellow River'.
A Silk Road port and a millennium-old city, it carries the weight of history and the blend of cultures.
With its unique geographical location and rich natural resources, it has become an important city in the northwest region.
Lanzhou's food culture has a long history, and its beef noodles are famous nationwide.
The city's mountains and rivers are dependent on each other, with beautiful natural scenery, making it a tourist and vacation paradise. It has both the boldness of the northwest and the grace of the south. A place that makes you linger and forget to return, it is worth a deep experience.
In the long river of time, it has witnessed the vicissitudes and changes of history. It has integrated multiple cultures, full of humanistic atmosphere and artistic ambiance.

Embark on a journey to the Northwest" - Gansu "to experience the sandstorms and vastness of the Northwest
Visit Tianshui, have a bowl of spicy hot pot, slurp some handmade noodles, and feel the atmosphere of the birthplace of Emperor Xuan. Explore the Maijishan Grottoes, the dazzling Buddhist country on the cliffs, and take a trip to the ancient city of Tianshui to feel the ancient and modern times hidden in the alleys.
Come to Lanzhou, slurp a bowl of beef noodles, add an egg or some side dishes, it seems hard to find such a taste outside of Gansu. Walk along the Zhongshan Bridge, feel the evening breeze by the Yellow River, and view the night scene of the White Pagoda Mountain.
Go to Wuwei, listening to the Wuwei three-wheel cart sounds quite nice, a bowl of Xing noodles, a plate of cured meat, and a cup of Fucha tea. Listen to the story of the 'Horse Stepping on a Flying Swallow,' view the scenery of the South Gate, stroll through the night market of Ming and Qing Street, and feel the breeze of Tianma Lake.
Travel to Zhangye, the Rainbow Danxia, nature's palette, National Geographic's eyeshadow palette, a huge canvas painted by nature, and the fatty pork belly. Visit the old street of Zhangye, feel the wind of Zhangye, and look at the night scene of Zhangye.
Arrive in Dunhuang, you must try the Dunhuang barbecue, where the Crescent Lake is known as 'one of the unique views beyond the Great Wall.' Experience camel riding on the sand, a great place for desert tourism. Climbing the Mingsha Mountain is tiring, but the sunset at Crescent Lake is really beautiful. There are also the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang, each Buddha statue, each mural, is a mark of time, inspiring awe in everyone.

Lanzhou || Yellow River Scenic Line One-Day Tour
|| The Yellow River Scenic Line One-Day Tour. The meandering Yellow River divides Lanzhou into two parts. As the only provincial capital city through which the Yellow River flows, the mother river presents a tranquility and composure in Lanzhou that is different from the impression people have.
💯 Itinerary: Zhongshan Bridge — Yellow River Cableway — Lanzhou Stele Forest — White Pagoda Mountain Park — Mother Yellow River Statue
✅ Zhongshan Bridge
👉🏻 The first bridge over the Yellow River, accessible only by foot.
Zhongshan Bridge is a landmark building in Lanzhou, built during the Guangxu period, and has a history of more than a hundred years. From the shore, the White Pagoda Mountain and the Yellow River Iron Bridge form a magnificent picture.

👉🏻 45 yuan for a single trip, 55 yuan for a round trip.
From Zhongshan Bridge to White Pagoda Mountain Park, you can either walk up the mountain or take the cableway. It is recommended to buy a one-way ticket for the cableway to experience the feeling of flying over the Yellow River and soaring directly into the sky. The cableway takes about 7 minutes to operate.
✅ Lanzhou Stele Forest
👉🏻 Free admission, ID required.
After taking the cableway up the mountain, turn left according to the signs, and after about a 10-minute walk, you will reach the Lanzhou Stele Forest. Here are displayed famous Gansu steles, including the 'Chunhua Pavilion Posts', Dunhuang scriptures, and bamboo slips from the Qin and Han dynasties. In particular, the Dunhuang scriptures and Qin and Han bamboo slips are engraved into steles for the first time for tourists to appreciate.
✅ White Pagoda Mountain Park
👉🏻 Free admission, with a panoramic view of Lanzhou from the top.
Leaving the Stele Forest, follow the road according to the signs to reach White Pagoda Mountain Park. The park is densely forested, with winding paths, layered pavilions, and well-arranged structures. ✅ Mother Yellow River Statue
👉🏻 Walk along the Yellow River Scenic Line.
Crossing Zhongshan Bridge and heading west along the Yellow River, passing through Baima Lang, you will reach the Mother Yellow River Statue. Along this route, the scenery on both sides of the Yellow River is also fully appreciated by visitors.
📌 Practical Tips: It is recommended to only buy a one-way ticket for the Yellow River Cableway, as there is a mountain path between White Pagoda Mountain Park and the cableway exit. After visiting the park, it is better to walk down the mountain directly.

Lanzhou is the only city in China that the Yellow River passes through
Lanzhou is the only city in China that the Yellow River passes through, and Baita Mountain in Lanzhou city is the best place to watch the Yellow River. Climbing and looking far away, the scenery of this northwestern city is all in sight. If you come to Lanzhou for tourism, don't miss Baita Mountain Park. There are ancient buildings from the Yuan and Ming dynasties everywhere, with rich historical and cultural atmosphere, exquisite architecture and pleasant scenery...

Gansu Lanzhou | Baita Mountain Park | Mysterious temple experience
If you have been to the Lanzhou City Museum, you must have seen the white temple tower there. That tower is somewhat similar to the white tower on Baita Mountain behind Lanzhou Iron Bridge. Both are brick towers, and each layer of the tower eaves is full of copper bells. The upper half of the tower body is the same pavilion-style tower, the difference is in the lower half, the white temple tower is more obvious, more like a treasure bottle, while the white tower is a bowl shape. The white tower is an octagonal tower base, and the white temple tower is a cross-folded corner shape.
-
As for why they look alike? I'm not sure, they were both built in the Ming Dynasty. It's just that the White Tower was rebuilt nearly 200 years before the White Temple, maybe it was like this at that time. It was rebuilt on the ruins, and it was the early Ming Dynasty.
-
📙Background knowledge:
The builder of the White Temple Tower was a Mongolian. The timeline goes back to Lanzhou on the map of the Western Xia Dynasty. The Mongolians in the north invited the Lama in the south to discuss. The Lama passed through Lanzhou and died of illness. A tower was built here in memory of him at the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty. Even if it was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, it was a combination of two cultures. After all, Lanzhou is located in a region where various cultures blend, as it was in the past and is now.
🎩Wonderful experience:
❶ How to look at a tower? The structure of the tower body and the carvings on the tower base. After all, the base of Mount Sumeru is full of carvings, and the lines are simple and clear. There are also Buddha niches on the pavilion-style tower body, and there are even Buddha statues in the niches.
❷ Here you can see the Lanzhou Iron Bridge crowded with tourists. The sheepskin rafts lined up on the banks of the Yellow River. Lanzhou in the summer vacation is the starting point of various self-driving routes in Gansu and Qinghai, and there are really many people. The Baita Mountain, named after the tower, obviously has more locals coming here for a walk. Because the mountain is really not high, but the view is good. There are many pavilions on the mountain, which is indeed a good place for a lazy weekend.
❸ There is a night view.

🗺️Recommended route:
You can walk over from Zhongshan Iron Bridge, and you can see it in front of the bridge. It's really not far or high. But Baita Mountain Park is not small in size, because it also includes the Lanzhou Stele Forest where the First Pavilion of the Yellow River is located. But the actual effect is much worse than on the Internet.
