I always love a trip on a cable car and the Wellington funicular was a great way to get up to the Gardens. It's only a short, five minute journey and is very reasonably priced. The views from the top are stunning so it's well worth the trip. #wintergetaway #wintergetaway

Such a unique experience to try the cable car in Wellington. A return ticket cost only 12 dollars and there is a spectacular view over the whole city. There is a small cable car museum, a botanic garden at the top and a Victorian Parfumery. You can have a lunch, dinner in the eatery located just outside the top end of the cable car stop. It offers a comprehensive exploration of the country's history, Maori culture, and natural environment.
