The Weiwuying Art and Culture Center in the Metropolitan Park covers 10 hectares of the park. Construction officially started in April 2010, and was completed at the end of May 2015 and began operation at the end of October of the same year. Although I have lost count of how many times I have been to Weiwuying Metropolitan Park, today was my first time to enter the Art and Culture Center to watch the diabolo performance by Amoeba, the first part of VALO by the Wuling Theater. Although this performance was a promotional show and no tickets were required, the three promotional shows were sold out instantly when they were opened for online reservations. I was lucky enough to get four tickets. Although it was a promotional show and the performance lasted only 30 minutes, the content of the performance was not compromised and the dancers' wonderful performance received thunderous applause from the audience. Not far from the National Kaohsuing Centre for the Arts are a couple of blocks that have been completely covered in murals, by artists from all over the world. The scale and vibrancy of the murals was a complete surprise., in this otherwise quiet and calm neighbourhood. We didn’t see anybody else walking around, and only locals going about their day to day activity.
