Wat Intharawat (Wat Ton Kwen)
Wat Intharawat, also known as Wat Ton Kwen, in Chiang Mai is truly a hidden gem! I recently had a photo shoot there, and it was an unforgettable experience. The temple’s serene beauty and traditional Lanna architecture are absolutely captivating.
Right in front of the temple, there’s a shop that rents Lanna costumes – the only one in the area. The rental fee includes hairstyling and dressing assistance, although makeup is not included. Wearing the traditional attire really enhances the experience and makes for stunning photos that capture the essence of Lanna culture.
I highly recommend hiring the photographer as a solo traveller. The prices are more than reasonable. If you’re planning to visit, don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of this temple. And, of course, make sure to dress in traditional Lanna attire for memorable and beautiful photos!

Wat Inthrawat (Wat Ton Kwen)
Wat Inthrawat (Wat Ton Kwen) is an ancient temple in Chiang Mai that is very beautiful. One of the highlights is the four-gabled pavilion, which is the only one found in the northern region. Additionally, the traditional Lanna art within the temple is considered a perfect and valuable prototype. The atmosphere inside the temple is serene, surrounded by many tall palm trees, giving Wat Ton Kwen an authentic ancient Lanna charm and a mystical feel. It's no surprise that Wat Ton Kwen has been used as a filming location for many Thai dramas. However, currently, there are no monks residing in the temple. A popular activity at the temple nowadays is renting Lanna costumes for photo shoots or for touring the temple, with prices starting at a few hundred baht. The temple is located at Soi 3, Nong Kwai Subdistrict, Hang Dong District, Chiang Mai Province (near the Royal Park Rajapruek). It's highly recommended for anyone visiting Chiang Mai not to miss this beautiful place.
