Rich culture of Temples in Bangkok 🇹🇭
#temples
A very spacious and grand Shrine. Travelled 71km from Bangkok city to see this temple. It plays quite a significant role in almost everyone’s life. Many people go there for prayers and blessings.
This keeps them healthy, hopeful and happy, when there during on of their festivals. Where we dance as a gesture to worship God. Such unique rich culture in Thailand.
We did a donation of lunch box and water to the community there in the temple. The locals there are very welcoming.
Its presence in the locality gives all the residents hope, courage, strength, and right direction.

Famous Pak Mo noodles near Wat Luang Pho Sothon
🏡 Kuay Tiew Pak Mo, Auntie Chu, a famous Kuay Tiew Pak Mo shop in Chachoengsao. The shop is not far from Wat Luang Pho Sothon.
🍜 The shop's menu includes boat noodles, grilled pork neck rice. The shop's Kuay Tiew Pak Mo has a variety of fillings, such as chives, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, cabbage, long beans, tofu, sweet pickled turnips, served with chicken soup. The sweet and mellow taste is delicious even when eaten together without seasoning.
😀 If you stop by to pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon and are looking for delicious food at an affordable price, we recommend this shop.

Luang Pho Sothon
Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Sothon, Chachoengsao Province
🙏It is an important Buddha image of Chachoengsao Province. It is enshrined in the Ubosot of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan. It is made from eight pieces of sandstone and covered with cement. It is a Buddha image in the Samadhi posture, meaning he sits with his legs crossed, his right leg over his left leg, and his right hand over his left hand, placed one on top of the other on his lap. He is 6 feet 7 inches tall and his lap is 5 feet 6 inches wide.
🙏A legend has been told since the late Ayutthaya period. It is believed that “Phra Phuttha Sothon” had three siblings who floated down the water. The three Buddha images floated down from the north before reaching the Chao Phraya River and performing miracles for the locals. The locals helped to invite the Buddha images up, but no matter what they did, they could not lift them up. After that, all three images sank again and floated into the Bang Pakong River through a canal. The locals who saw them helped to pull the Buddha images out of the water, but were unsuccessful. Therefore, it is the origin of the name "Khlong Chak Phra".
🙏Finally, all 3 statues floated to the Bang Pakong River, where Luang Pho Sothon emerged in front of Wat Sao Thong Thon or Wat Sothon, causing the Bang Pakong villagers to help invite it up from the river, until finally it was successfully brought up.

Luang Pho Sothon, Chachoengsao
#Get a discount without relying on luck. Wat Luang Pho Sothon is a temple that people like to worship in Chachoengsao Province. It takes about 1.30 hours from Bangkok. There is a parking lot in the temple. When you get to the temple, turn into the temple and park. It is very convenient. But if you are afraid that there will be no parking, you can park before reaching the temple and walk. But most of them are private places that charge extra.
The temple and the church have been renovated to be beautiful. The recommended dress code is to dress politely. If women wear a skirt, wear a white shirt. The shirt should not be sleeveless or if it is sleeveless, there should be a cloth covering.
Personally, I like to go to this temple because I like to complain and have to go and make merit every time.

The egg pagoda in Thailand 🇹🇭
#traveldiaries
Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan was originally known as "Wat Hong" and was built in the late Ayutthaya period according to evidence.
Over time, the Bang Pakong River eroded its banks and the Wat Hong temple disappeared. So a new temple was built again. This temple is an ancient temple in Chachoengsao province.
With the Buddha statue that has been revered and respected by many people in Thailand since ancient times and it is also a place of worship of the mausoleum.
Historically, there is a swan pillar in the temple courtyard (meaning swan barking in Thai). Later, the swan at the top of the pole fell down, leaving only one pole. A flag was hung to replace the swan flag and its name was changed to "Wat Sao Thong" (Flag means Thong in Thai).

Chachoengsao Traditional Temple – Sothong Temple (Egg Temple)
It is the oldest temple in Chachoengsao Province. It was built in the late Ayutthaya Dynasty and was designated as a third-level royal temple by the Thai royal family, representing its lofty belief and status in Thai history.
The splendid new temple was built from groundbreaking in 1996 to completed and opened in 2006. It is said that it cost 2.5 billion baht to build. The traditional Thai temple style is combined with modern marble brick collage, which looks extraordinary in the sunshine!
It is said that during the Ayutthaya Dynasty, the Burmese invaded and plundered Buddhist temples on a large scale. In order to protect the Buddha statues from damage, the people at that time covered the three brother Buddha statues with mud and placed them on rafts along the Bang Pakong River (แม่น้ำบางปะกง ) drifted, the largest of them, หลวงพ่อบ้านแหลม, was offered to the วัดเพชรส มุทรวรวิหาร, the most respectable หลวงพ่อโต is offered to the วัดบ in Samut Prakan Province (สมุทรปราการ) างพลีใหญ่ใน, while the third หลวงพ่อโสธร is the วัดโสธรว in Chachoengsao Province (จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา) รารามวรวิหาร.
A total of 18 Buddhas are enshrined in the new temple, including Sothong Buddha (พระพุทธโสธร), Emerald Buddha (พระแก้วมรกต) and Success Buddha (พระพุทธ ชินราช) is the most effective and is admired by the Thai people.
Small reminder: You are not allowed to wear shoes when worshiping in any temple in Thailand. There are people guarding shoes outside Sothong Temple. Please place your shoes on the shoe rack and ask the staff for a number plate before entering the temple; in addition, inside the new temple Flowers are used for worship. Flowers can be obtained at the entrance of the temple, and the fee can be placed in the merit box beside you according to your personal wishes.
Wat Sothong’s unique way of making vows: eggs
Believers will open a few cooked eggs to expose the egg whites and put a bottle of water next to them to thank the gods. It is said that this way of making wishes can only be seen here in Thailand!

#Mu travel destination
Wat Luang Pho Sothon or Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan is located in Mueang Chachoengsao District, Chachoengsao Province, not far from Bangkok. It is easy to drive there on a comfortable route. From Bangkok, take the motorway for less than an hour and a half to reach the temple for making merit.
We often hear stories about the sacredness and miracles of Luang Pho Sothon, which are evident to those who have faith. As a result, many people have flocked to pay homage and ask for Luang Pho's blessing to protect or cure illnesses. It has been told that people use incense ashes and dried flowers to worship and pray with candle wax to ask for holy water from Luang Pho to make medicine. It turned out that the illness was cured, which has become a famous story.
How to make a vow to Luang Pho Sothon
Light 9 incense sticks
Recite the mantra to worship Luang Pho Sothon, pray or make a vow for what you want, and say that if your wish comes true, what will you offer, such as how many boiled eggs or a Chatri dance.
It is believed that Luang Pho Sothon likes boiled eggs. Therefore, you will see boiled egg shops lined up all around the area because people who have their wishes fulfilled like to make offerings of boiled eggs, which were easy to find in the early days of Wat Sothon. Since then, boiled eggs have been popularly used as offerings. In the past, there were pork, mushrooms, duck, and chicken, but since there were a lot of people, bringing a lot of offerings may be inconvenient. In addition, there are also offerings of garlands and dancers from the Chatri or Likay dramas, etc.
