#Travel to Luang Prabang 3 days 2 nights, World Heritage City, Lao PDR
#Visit Luang Prabang for 3 days and 2 nights, experience the charming world heritage city of Laos. The beginning of this trip was because I wanted to try riding the Laos-China high-speed train for once, so I planned a short trip during my holiday to visit Luang Prabang.
Day 1
- Start at the Vientiane high-speed train station
- Check in at Mali House
- Chill out at T56 Cafe and Bar
- Walk around the Luang Prabang Museum
- Enjoy the view of Luang Prabang Phousi Temple Viewpoint
- Walk around the Night Market
Day 2
- See the beauty of Kuang Si Waterfall
- Tad Mongkol Waterfall
- Taste buffalo milk ice cream
- Stop for a coffee at Full House Cafe along the way
- Wat Xieng Thong, the oldest temple in Luang Prabang
- Wat Saensukharam
- Royal Palace of Luang Prabang
- Tum Wan Restaurant
Day 3
- Give alms in the morning at Luang Prabang Walking Street
- Have breakfast at the famous Prachaniyom restaurant
- Drink coffee at Joma Cafe
- Walk around the Luang Prabang morning market
- Eat croissants at Le Banneton Café French Bakery
- Take the high-speed train back to Vientiane
Summary of expenses
- High-speed train from Vientiane-Luang Prabang First Class 552,000 LAK ~ 900 baht
- High-speed train from Luang Prabang-Vientiane 393,000 LAK ~ 600 baht
- Mali House accommodation for 2 nights 2,300 baht (1,150 baht/person)
- Motorbike rental 120,000 LAK + gas, total 200 baht (100 baht/person)
- Food + entrance fees + car rental, total approximately 3,500 baht/person
These approximate expenses do not include travel expenses from Bangkok to Vientiane. It depends on your convenience where you start. As for Fern's travel, she took a bus from Bangkok to Vientiane. She took the bus both ways. It saved money but was a bit tiring. Honestly, if you only want to visit Luang Prabang, I recommend a direct flight. It's much more convenient. But this trip, the reason I used this method of transportation was because the main purpose was to try the Laos-China high-speed train.
For those who want to travel abroad with few holidays, I recommend Luang Prabang as another option. It's really good for the heart.
