Wat Ratchaburana Phitsanulok
#WinterTravel In this cold winter, many people may travel. On this trip, Bommiko will take you to Phitsanulok Province, a province with a long history. Many people may know it as Phitsanulok, the city of two rivers, or know Phra Buddha Chinnarat, the city's guardian Buddha. But today, I would like to take you to worship at Wat Ratchaburana in Phitsanulok Province, which is not far from Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat.
Wat Ratchaburana is located in Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province.
It is located on the road, opposite Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan.
In the past, it was adjacent to Wat Nang Phaya. However, in the present, when development has flowed in, the Mittraphap Road was built through the temple, causing the area to be separated.
Wat Ratchaburana is also a temple that is thousands of years old, resulting in many interesting historical sites and artifacts. The royal chedi of Wat Ratchaburana is a round chedi in the Sri Lankan style, standing on an octagonal base arranged in layers and surrounded by small chedis, which we can see from the other side of the river. The ordination hall is nearby. With the Ho Trai inside, there are mural paintings about the Ramakien. The top and bottom are images of Kamakritha, which have never been seen in any temple before. In addition, the Vihara of Wat Ratchaburana is a brick and mortar building. The architecture is in the style of a hall with 9 rooms. It is Sukhothai art. Inside, there are round laterite pillars. There is a stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture in Sukhothai art as the principal Buddha image. As for the Sala Karn Parian, it will be the place to enshrine the Buddha's relics. There is also a small community museum corner. Along with renting and worshiping the famous amulet "Phra Nang Phaya" as well.
