Dongshan Pagoda, located on a high mountain, is surrounded by many ethnic minorities. At first, Dongshan Mountain was named "Puzhao Mountain" (Doi Puchao, ดอยปู่เจ้า). After the Buddha passed away, Mahakasyapa put a seven-color flag with a length of 7000 meters and a width of 5000 meters (the word "flag" is pronounced in the Lanna language as "Dong") is inserted on Puzhao Mountain, so people call this mountain "Dong Mountain", which means "Flag Mountain". There are two pagodas, one is dedicated to the Buddha's collarbone, and the other is dedicated to the Buddha's bones and body relics. Every year, many believers come here to worship Buddha, especially on March 15th of the lunar calendar every year, many believers come here from all directions to pray for blessings.
