Wat Phra That Chom Chaeng is located in Ban Krai, Tambon Cho Hae, Mueang District, Phrae Province, 1 kilometer past Phra That Cho Hae, and about 10 kilometers from the city center. Wat Phra That Chom Chaeng has Phra That Chom Chaeng on a low hill. The shape of the pagoda is similar to Phra That Cho Hae. It contains the hair relics and the relics of the left hand of the Lord Buddha. This is an ancient temple that has been with the city for a long time. It enshrines Phra That Chom Chaeng and Luang Pho Chom Chaeng, sacred objects that the locals highly respect.
Phra That Chom Chaeng enshrines the relics of the left hand of the Lord Buddha and the hair of the Lord Buddha. Originally, this pagoda was called Phra That Chuan Chaeng because the time when the Lord Buddha came here was just before dawn. However, as time passed, the name of the pagoda began to change until it became Phra That Chom Chaeng.
The pagoda is 29 meters high and 10 meters wide at the base. It is a golden, bush-shaped pagoda with a similar style to Phra That Cho Hae, which was built in a combination of Sukhothai and Wiang Kosai art.
