I captured the Big Buddha at Wat Phra in Bangkok under the sunset.

Don't be fooled, the Buddha at Wat Paknam is quite small!
I wanted to capture the imposing presence of the Buddha as seen in online photos, but it turns out that effect can only be achieved with a camera.
However, if you're not too particular about your photos, you can still give it a try!
Check out reference photo 2. (Currently, this Buddha photo spot is not exactly a hidden gem. We waited for two to three hours, and even as it got dark, there were still many people coming to take photos. So, if you want fewer people around, it's best to go in the morning.

I rarely use the word 'shocking' to describe a place!|||
|||. I rarely use the word 'shocking' lightly to describe a place, but the Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen Buddha has made me break this habit without hesitation! It is not only a must-visit place in Thailand but also a touch to the soul, a visual feast, and all of this is free!
๐Reason to visit: Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen Buddha, a place that inspires awe and makes you linger. Its grandeur and tranquility are enough to make any trip to Thailand extraordinarily meaningful.
๐ถโโ๏ธPerfect check-in route:
Alley spot: Start your shocking journey from a unique perspective hidden in an alley. Navigate directly to 60 Soi Phet Kasem 15, Lane 9. Although you need to walk deep, the tranquility and mystery will make you feel that everything is worth it.
Shipyard Coffee: Next to the alley, this coffee shop is not only a great place to rest but also an excellent background for photos. The entrance fee of 50 baht or a cup of rich coffee can add some comfort to your journey.
Waterfront photo spot: Follow the signs to easily find this super popular photo spot. The clear water reflects the solemnity of the Buddha, and every frame is a masterpiece. The uncle next to it also provides a photo service for 40 baht, professional and considerate.
In front of the Buddha spot: Standing at the foot of Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen Buddha, looking up, the shock at that moment is beyond words. Under the wide-angle lens, the grandeur of the Buddha contrasts sharply with your insignificance, leaving unforgettable memories.
Overpass spot: Finally, don't miss the overpass view of Soi Lat Ya 8. Although it requires certain equipment (a camera and telephoto lens are recommended), the spectacular view from above is definitely worth your special trip.
๐ธPhoto tips: The entire check-in area is not large, about 2 kilometers. Follow the above route to capture all the essence spots. Remember to bring your camera or phone to capture every shocking moment.
Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen Buddha, a place where the word 'shocking' becomes so fitting, awaits your exploration and discovery. Here, every shutter click is an eternal freeze-frame of beautiful moments.

๐ทใCheck-in Suggestionsใ
โถ It takes about 3 hours to visit all the spots. First, take a taxi to The Boatyard Cafe, which will drop you off at the entrance of the alley. The other places require walking, and after the visit, take a taxi to the skywalk
โท Personally, I think the view from The Boatyard Cafe is quite ordinary. If you're not there for the coffee, you might skip it. The riverside check-in spot mentioned later offers a better photo opportunity. The uncle is also very enthusiastic about teaching passersby how to take good photos, and you can buy his juice; he'll help you take the picture

The Big Buddha Bangkok
The Big Buddha is the tallest statue in Thailand and the second tallest statue in Southeast Asia. Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen is a royal wat located in Phasi Charoen district, Bangkok, at the Chao Phraya River and this statue stands 300 ft high. This place is easily accessible by grab and cost about 600 baht or you can get there by taking the BTS to Saphan Taksin station's exit 1 and walk to Sathorn Pier.

Getting enlightened at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen Bangkok
Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen temple was actually around since 1610, during the Ayutthaya period, but it was a smaller version of its current form. This royal temple is located in the Phasi Charoen district, on the banks of several Bangkok canals.
The temple became well known thanks to the meditation master Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro, who was its abbot during the first half of the 20th century.
Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen has become more popular with tourists since the construction in 2012 of a big stupa named Maharatchamongkhon with a superb vault on the top floor (donโt miss the glass pagoda which is on the 5th floor here!!) as well as the construction of a large 64-meter tall Buddha in front of the stupa which was completed in 2021 and is the tallest Buddha in Bangkok!!

โ๏ธTransportation: Hong Kong to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Hong Kong
๐From Shenzhen Bay Port, take the B3X bus to Hongqiao Station, then A36 directly to Hong Kong Airport Terminal
๐จAccommodation: Ibis Styles Bangkok Sukhumvit Phra Khanong (Not close to Siam shopping district, but there are several popular stores nearby, with a 711, BTS, and affordable room rates. The cleaning lady is also very diligent, highly recommended!)
๐ค Itinerary: Day1 Watergate TempleโChulalongkorn Night Market Street
Day2 Grand Palace-iconsam-Siam Shopping District
Day3 Siam Shopping District-Massage-Chulalongkorn Food Street
๐Getting around Bangkok: We mostly took taxis, then boats or BTS or MRT to various places. The top recommended taxi app is bolt (cheaper), and if you can't get a taxi, consider grab.
๐ฝ๏ธFood:
1๏ธโฃhere hai: If you don't want to queue, just order takeaway on grab. Recommended garlic shrimp and crab spring rolls! But the crab fried rice is so-so
2๏ธโฃMae Varee: Also available for takeaway, the tri-color mango sticky rice is delicious, but it can get a bit cloying if you eat too much
3๏ธโฃChuan Fu: If you don't want to queue for Michelin mama noodles at Chulalongkorn, you can come here. Just walk a few dozen meters to the right of Milk Boy, it seems that many students come here to eat. The mama noodles and tossed rice are good, and their coconut pudding is super rich and delicious!!!
4๏ธโฃMilk Boy: Only bought the original flavor milk, a bit like Wangzai milk??
5๏ธโฃiconsam basement water market: Too many choices, buy whatever you want to eat, but the prawns are not fresh, the spotted cake is also average, not recommended. The papaya salad with raw shrimp and the spicy squid salad are very tasty
6๏ธโฃafter you: The mango smoothie and toast are okay, but too sweet and cloying after a while, anyway not as good as Miss Xiao Zhuang in Quanzhou (missing it~)
7๏ธโฃHand-labeled Thai milk tea: Tastes the same as in Shenzhen, but half the price, so drink more~
8๏ธโฃRua Thong Noodle: The best are the beef boat noodles, Tom Yum mixed noodles, dumplings, and coconut cake. Don't order the curry noodles at all!!!
9๏ธโฃkarun Thai milk tea: Average taste, expensive, too much ice, not recommended. Isn't hand-labeled Thai milk tea fragrant?
๐aey seafood: Strongly recommend the curry crab and vermicelli pot!!! Amazing from the first bite, also a place where many locals eat. If you don't want to queue at somsom in Chulalongkorn, this place is recommended~
๐711 Good Stuff Recommendations:
In P16, except for Meiji pure milk, everything else is worth a try. In P17, only the circled items are recommended. Comp tea and sleep candyโ, but clean nose's acne essence and sunscreen are really useful, and the Snake Brand spray and concealer samples are also highly recommended
๐bigc Shopping Experience:
Apart from the dried mangosteen and strawberry-flavored Glico, everything else is OK~

Thailand | Visit the iconic Wat Traimit Withayaram and its Great Buddha for free
๐ A new landmark has emerged in Bangkok, Thailandโa 66-meter-tall golden Buddha statue that has become the most popular tourist attraction, surpassing the Grand Palace in local tourism popularity and becoming a must-visit landmark in Bangkok.
-
๐ Wat Traimit has been newly renovated, featuring a five-story pagoda and a 66-meter-tall golden Buddha. The pagoda, inspired by the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai, stands 80 meters tall with five levels. The underground first to third levels display a vast collection of bronze, gilded, and jade Buddha statues, while the fourth level houses the most precious green jade pagoda.
-
๐ The best viewing spot is located right in this alley, where you can see the golden Buddha's face and take a photo with the Great Buddha.

Bangkok Must-Visit: The Prime Spot for the Great Golden Buddha at Wat Traimit
๐ As a rising landmark and hot spot in Bangkok, Wat Traimit is most famous online for its photo spot strategies. The Great Buddha must be quite content watching us hopping around it all day, considering that all the Buddha statues in Thailand have smiling faces.
๐ I didn't make a special effort to look for the spot. Exiting the MRT at 'Tha Phra' station (BL01), I walked into the alley across the street. Turning left at the T-junction next to the temple, I followed the alley straight to the end. In just a few steps, I could see the famous photo spot and the Great Buddha, ready for a photo shoot. Further ahead is a local residence, which has now turned into a simple coffee shop ๐. They just set up a few tables, and if you're thick-skinned enough, you can pass through without buying anything to take photos by the river. Occasionally, boats pass by, which is quite interesting.
The drinks are quite basic (seems like they're all priced at 50B), and honestly, there's nothing commendable about the taste. The Thai milk tea tasted cheap and overly sweet, I suspect it's made from a powder mix. I also ordered a lemon ice or something, and it wasn't as good as the slushies from 7-11, but sitting by the river is still very relaxing.

Checking in at Thailand's New Landmark | The Great Buddha of Wat Hua Lamphong in Bangkok
After opening, I headed straight to Thailand and discovered a new landmark in Bangkokโthe Great Buddha of Wat Hua Lamphong, a staggering 66 meters tall pure gold Buddha!
๐Location: Southwest of Bangkok, about 7 kilometers from the city center.
๐ซPrice: Currently free to visit
๐Tour Tips: Because the Buddha statue is huge, you can take photos of the Great Buddha from different angles even a kilometer away. Just navigate to 833 Thanon Thoet Thai, Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok 1060, to check in and take pictures.
This is also where the boat tours are located, just a little further inside. If you can't find it, the locals in the alley will kindly guide you. The boat tour costs 200 Thai Baht per person for half an hour. You can rent a boat with two or three people and try to bargain the price ๐คฃ.
Seeing the Great Buddha, you can freely check in around the one-kilometer vicinity of the Buddha. I didn't specifically look for some popular photo spots; I just took pictures wherever I went, and also got to experience the local life.
After walking around the perimeter of the Great Buddha, I entered the temple of the Great Buddha. Those with a fear of huge objects should be cautious; the Great Buddha is incredibly large and overwhelming, giving a very strong sense of oppression. Inside, the Relic Stupa is also worth a visit. I recommend going directly to the 5th floor, where you can see the magnificent roof, with many locals praying.
Exiting the stupa, you can also see the full view of the back of the Great Buddha. A strong sensory experience!

Fear of huge objects? The Great Buddha at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen in Bangkok
Bangkok| The Great Buddha at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen is a popular photo spot for visitors.
๐BTS to: Bang Phai Station
(Basically, you can see the Great Buddha from the elevated train)
Start from Exit 1 and it's about a ten-minute walk to get there
Location of Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen: Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen
The photo spot by the river is as follows
Google map location: Soi Thoet Thai 26
The surrounding area is mostly residential buildings, it's recommended for women to travel in groups and not to go too late. There are many dogs and cats around, and be aware that there might be snakes, lizards, crocodiles by the riverbank, but don't be scared, they generally won't attack unless provoked! Just avoid them. The dogs are usually very lazy and friendly!
The location I've pinpointed can be reached by boat, which are private and smaller, making them better for photography. Taking the official boats can be crowded and not as conducive to getting good photos.

A solo travel guide to Bangkok, off-the-beaten-path and free attractions
Having been to Bangkok many times, I recommend a route of off-the-beaten-path and free attractions. One can travel around the city by bus and subway alone.
Accommodation is recommended on Khao San Road, which is a paradise for backpackers around the world. The accommodation is cheap and there are many hostels. It is the place with the highest cost performance in Bangkok. Standard rooms start at 100 yuan.
Transportation is convenient, buses can transfer to the subway, reaching various urban attractions in Bangkok.
Wat Suthat, you can depart from Khao San Road in the morning, go to Tha Tian Pier, take a one-yuan ferry to the opposite Zheng Wang Temple Station, and take the blue subway line directly to Wat Suthat. Wat Suthat is a newly popular attraction in Bangkok, with a 66-meter-high golden Buddha standing in the 400-year-old Wat Suthat. Admission is free.
From Wat Suthat, take the BTS subway to the city center, where you can visit Bangkok's Chinatown, Erawan Shrine, Icon Siam and other downtown attractions. Chinatown is a gathering place for Chinese people, with many Chinese-style buildings, temples, and traditional foods from Fujian and Guangdong. ICON Siam is Bangkok's youngest and most fashionable creative mall. From Saphan Taksin subway station, you can take a ferry to get there.
In the evening, take a free ferry from Saphan Taksin subway station to the Ferris Wheel Lakeside Night Market, where you can enjoy the sunset on the Mekong River on the ferry.
From the Ferris Wheel Night Market, you can take a bus directly back to Khao San Road and stroll around the Khao San Road Night Market at night. If you have time the next day, it is recommended to take a bus to Talin Chan Floating Market, which is the nearest large floating market to Bangkok city. Here you can experience the traditional Thai floating market, sit on a boat to tour the market, and also experience boat noodles and other Thai delicacies.

Sure, you can shoot with your phone! Sharing classic spots for shooting the Wat Suthat Big Buddha
On this vacation to Bangkok, the main task of citywalk for a few days is to shoot the new landmark Wat Suthat Big Buddha. Here are some classic spots that you can easily shoot with your phone!
Picture 1โฃ๏ธ2โฃ๏ธ๐Shipyard Cafe
The best check-in spot in my mind, close to the Buddha, with a scenic table, can shoot the holiday atmosphere. The only downside is that you have to pay 20 baht for the ๐ซ whether you consume or not.
Picture 3โฃ๏ธ๐Soi Phet Kasem 15
It's actually the small road leading to the outside of the Shipyard Cafe, there is a long narrow alley, outside the alley you can shoot the Big Buddha.
Picture 4โฃ๏ธ๐Bangkok Yai District Office
Navigate to this location, the overpass next to it is the spot. You can shoot the river, the Big Buddha and the boat, very postcard-like. The downside is that there are wires blocking part of the view (need to be removed in post-production) Also because the guardrail is high, you need to climb the guardrail to shoot! So be careful where you step. A five-fold telephoto lens on your phone can capture the view in the picture.

๐๐ปTIPS
โญAsked the staff, the Big Buddha can fly drones. But I checked that flying drones in Bangkok also requires registration, so if you want to take aerial shots, you should be aware of the risks.
โญSome spots on the internet require a telephoto lens (like that classic spot with the car flow and the Buddha in the sunset, which requires more than 300mm) It's not necessary for non-professionals to go.
โญThe Big Buddha will light up after dark, so going to shoot before dusk is an excellent choice.

The biggest Buddha in Bangkok
One of my most impressive discoveries in Bangkok is the giant Buddha statue in Wat Pak Nam Temple. This is the largest Buddha statue in the capital of Thailand, whose height is 64 meters. The most unusual angles on this statue should be looked for near the channels that flow next to the temple. An absolutely incredible sight!
To get to the temple, take the MRT metro line to Bang Phai Station and then walk about 700 meters on foot.

The most beautiful temple in Bangkok
#celebratewithtrip
Welcome to Wat Pak Nam, the most beautiful temple in bangkok in my opinion and I can tell you why:
First of all the beautiful glass pagoda inside the temple on the fifth floor is magnificent in this room with this beautiful designed roof. If you have the chance to go there you should definitely go.
Second the big humble looking buddah is very magnificent and beautiful in its on way.
Third it is great walk around on the pagoda and have a look around the neighborhood and enjoy the view on the surrounding temples and pagodas.
Last but not least it is not that crowded because many people donโt know about it.

the most beautiful temple in Bangkok
#celebratewithtrip. this temple is absolutely stunning! first it has a huge Buddha outside, and once you walk into this pagoda till 4th floor, you will see this beautiful ceiling that painted with blue and green colours. itโs a bit trippy, and the colour is really vivid! itโs free of entry and by the river side, once you get to the terrace, you are able to see the skyline of Bangkok, and the river down. itโs pretty touristy, and lots of locals also come here to pray! this is a must visit place in Bangkok, you can easily reach here by MRT or BTS, then you walk for 12 minutes, you will see the temple. every floor they have some Buddhism related things you can look around

A must visit in Bangkok - Wat Paknam
Today is very adventurous when looking for Wat Paknam (Water Gate Temple). On the MRT Bang Phai station, you can see the huge golden Buddha and a pagoda standing inside the residential area. With the golden Buddha as the orientation, follow the Google guide to walk across the school, small bridge and the residential buildings. In addition to the Golden Buddha, the Temple also has the famous green stupa and a rich collection of Buddhist and classical relics in the museum. If you still have time in Bangkok, it is really worth a visit.

Zen Tranquility: Serene Moments at Wat Pratunam
Stepping into Wat Pratunam in Bangkok feels like entering a timeless sanctuary. The majestic Buddha statue stands in the center of the main hall, with golden light streaming in from the windows, adding a touch of sacred warmth to the entire space. Inside the temple, devotees quietly kneel, hands clasped in prayer, reciting peaceful wishes, each word imbued with devotion and hope.
I strolled through the courtyard, admiring the intricately carved stupas and the golden-edged eaves, occasionally hearing the soft chime of bells carried by the breeze, bringing a sense of tranquility. In one corner of the courtyard, a lotus pond reflects the blue sky, with blooming lotuses mirroring the vast world, blurring the lines between reality and illusion. At this moment, the bustling Bangkok seems far away, leaving only peace and zen in the heart.
As I left Wat Pratunam, I felt a sense of peace and contentment. This temple allows one to experience tranquility amidst the chaos and offers a moment of rest and solace for the soul.

Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen
The large Buddha statue is currently undergoing restoration.
How to get there
If you are traveling by MRT, get off at Bang Phai Station, take Exit 1, and enter Soi Wat Nuannoradit (Phetkasem 19). Take a motorcycle taxi to the pier opposite the temple, cross the bridge over the canal, and walk about 600 meters to reach the temple.
If you are traveling by BTS, you can get off at either Talat Phlu Station or Wutthakat Station. If you get off at Talat Phlu Station, there are minibuses that go directly to Wat Paknam. Alternatively, if you get off at Wutthakat Station, you can take a motorcycle taxi directly to Wat Paknam.

Last month, Qingqing visited Bangkok and made a special trip to photograph the Big Buddha at Wat Pratunam. I wandered around the area, capturing it from various angles. To be honest, this Big Buddha is quite impressive!
